I think it’s her behaviour that people find fascinating.
As a person I think she talks a lot but doesn’t actually say anything if you get my drift ? I certainly have never heard her say anything that has had an impact on me .

Empty vessels make most noise.

MrsLeonFarrell · 19/07/2025 07:25

I do find her interesting, mostly I feel quite sorry for her because I never get the feeling the things she does are things that she is genuinely passionate about. Even WLM didn't really show her as someone passionate about food but maybe about presentation. It gave me the impression that she really cares about how she presents herself, which we all do to a certain extent, and gets very upset when she gets any criticism.

I would love to see her thriving and successful, instead of just telling us she is thriving and successful because then I think they have a real chance of being happy and even reconciling with Charles. I'm not sure how she will do that with the whiny entitled man child she married but she has enough determination.

I watched about ten minutes but got bored! I noticed they repeated the $5 million claim again and were portraying her as some kind of self made woman. She was living in a modest rented house in Toronto when she met H.

Toronto property is really expensive (I used to live there). That house was “modest” like a townhouse in Notting Hill or Camden is modest. For a single person in her early 30s, that was a nice house.

Not a mansion, and yes I’m sure the Montecito house is much nicer, but for her stage in life, that was definitely above average for Toronto. We (two doctors in our 30s) couldn’t have afforded it, put it like that!

Did anyone clock that Oprah was on a podcast (Kelly Ripa) recently talking about the duck incident in March? Remember Meghan's weird duck instagram? That poor mother duck and her babies were herded off Sussex land onto Oprah's - who clearly couldn't give a shit either way if she took them or not. Sounds like they were put under a lot of stress getting them to move. And commentators are saying the Sussexes broke the law in moving them.

Oprah showed a bit of contempt for the Sussexes in being "unable" to pronounce their name properly.

What did Oprah say about the ducks?

I remember the duck Instagram but I thought that was just Meghan hiding in a bush then jumping out and pointing at the mother duck and the ducklings. Did something more happen?

Netflix have now released their global viewing figures for the first half of 2025, and it’s not great news for “With Love, Meghan”. It came 383rd in the list of views, with 5.3m viewings. That’s not a great figure for someone with as much name recognition as the Duchess of Sussex.

Still, it did better than Polo, with just 500,000 viewings, so not all bad news!

https://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/845142/meghan-markle-disappointing-news-100k-deal/

That’s pretty funny, as is this quote from the article:

"Still, it's disappointing to see that it hasn't cracked Netflix's Top 300 most-watched shows so far - something Meghan herself is likely feeling too."

I don’t think “top 300” is a number anyone would be aspiring to - if the show was 299 it would still be embarrassing given the amount of global profile it had!

Top 50, at a push, might be something to be proud about.

500k for Polo is truly abysmal - but it shows because Harry himself wasn’t in it (so no hope of gossip) and he made no effort to promote it either - clearly thinks of himself as above that sort of thing, but it shows that his name alone being attached to it isn’t enough to draw interest, much like Heart of Invictus.

Harry told Oprah he was bringing them to her as their pond was more like a stream. Most people would call animal control for advice not box up a family of ducks in a vehicle. The mother ducks was then distressed on arrival and need to be chased to get her back to her ducklings.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Had a Duck Emergency at Oprah Winfrey's House — and You Have to Hear It to Believe It

Oprah Winfrey revealed a hilarious and unexpected moment when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves chasing a family of ducks around her backyard.

I suppose I called it modest because it reminded me of the house I lived in when I was studying in Massachusetts, where I imagine the rents are way cheaper than Toronto.Hopefully the standard of decor inside is much better!

Meghan is passionate about Meghan. That's it. She seems to have no real interests or core personality outside of her ego.

And I'm not sure why you feel sorry for her? She has the sort of money and fame that would enable her to do whatever she wants, without having to worry about money. She and Harry could have a very nice life, at least by any normal standards, without having to work for a living. She could pursue whatever 'passions' she might have in a way the rest of us could never dream of.

Because ducks famously can only survive in ponds. 🙄 Streams are fatal 🤦🏼‍♀️

They should've left the poor things alone, the mother duck would have moved them herself if she needed to.

I'm sure I read somewhere the Suits production company arranged the apartment for her (& other cast members) and subsidised it. Cheaper long-term than hotel rooms I suppose for long term productions like Suits.

When still married to Trevor (in the first few series) she would have gone back home after filming ended, then after that she was living with Cory the chef.

What they did was illegal. You can't interfere with migratory birds in this way.

What the fuck?

I can’t believe this is being recounted as a cute anecdote. Totally inappropriate to interfere with the poor duck and her family, and unnecessary - as if ducks can’t live perfectly happily in a stream. It sounds like the whole episode was very distressing for the duck, and they’re lucky it didn’t cause her to abandon the ducklings. Harry is an idiot.

Two interesting things from the article though - 1 that Oprah clearly centres the story around Harry, not Meghan - when I thought they were the ones supposedly with the “friendship”.

Secondly that it shows up just how fake the video Meghan posted on instagram was - making out as if she just ‘came across’ this duck family.

Also, what’s with ‘O’ - are Meghan and Harry incapable of referring to anyone other than by their first initial?

I feel sorry for the many employees who she has routinely emotionally brutalised, hounding them from their jobs and inflicting sufficient mental injury some require medical intervention - you know normal people on who were just going to work trying to earn a living for their families. I read about one of the many nannies that they went through who said that MM and Doria were absolutely vicious to her.

Totally agree. This 'cute' story isn't cute at all.

Oprah wouldn't have taken Meghan's calls before she got with Harry. The only reason she has any interest in her is the royal connection. These 'friendships' are purely transactional.

And yes, this referring to each other by initials is very juvenile and cringey.

JSMill · 19/07/2025 11:20

I agree the duck story is quite shocking. Any educated adult knows you don’t do that. The lot of them are morons.

This is what was happening according to the story the mum ran off (abandoned them) and they were chasing after her with the ducklings in a box.

I feel sorry for them as well. More so than for Meghan but I do have sympathy for anyone who on paper has it all but can't seem to find the joy she keeps talking about.

Harry was also very rude and dismissive of Oprah too!
she told him to wait because she had her friends grandchildren coming and thought they would like to see the ducks .
he said “no” and came over straight away!
very , very bad manners!

I always think there are strong parallels between the relationship of Yoko Ono and John Lennon and these two. I’mjust reading May Pangs account of her relationship with JL
YO sounds bat shit crazy, controlling and narcissistic .

TBF I really can't see Rachel encouraging Harold to play away.

No. She’s trying to big them up by letting people know they have instant access to her.

She knows they’re sinking fast and need all the help they can get.

I saw that and it was obvious Harry doesn’t take a no from anyone. Not that we weren’t already aware of it.

CathyorClaire · 19/07/2025 12:45

Interfering with those ducks (are they the ones Rachel was chasing and squealing at in her IG post?) was appalling but then again there have been whispers around Harold's alleged treatment of birds for years along with documented evidence of his cruelty to animals.

Dimwitted prince scores an own goal yet again 🙄
