So they are showing faces now, how long until they are including them in everything, showing them fully.
I feel like this is a bit desperate now. It was their last card to play, the children. They’re trying anything now for attention, what do they have left, showing private videos of them after all the criticism about the Wales children being on display.
One thing about them is they always surprise me.

As I said, feel free to use whatever words you’re comfortable with, I don’t think i can add any more to what I’ve said without repeating myself.

I’ve never described anyone as sugar, and even if I were to start I don’t need your permission first.

So off you go with your nonsense, and the next time you try to cause racial discord here with your sneaky ways just remember you’ll be found out and challenged on it again, and again, and again.

Topic of the thread is the Father’s Day video 🤪

My opinion since you asked - loved it, so happy for Harry

Did you not read @smilesy’s question? It was about the Father’s Day video.

😅😆😅 brilliant.

It was “the British Press” that gave you away, Harry 😂

I stand by every word. They are the ones exposing those unfortunate children to the world

Not every child is photogenic. Very many are not. Many are plug ugly. I certainly was and I suffered from an everything must be perfect but you're my mini me attitude from my mother and I recognise the precursors of it in Markle.

Imagine the damage to the brand if they both turn out to look like Thomas Markle ( poor guy)

You exposed yourself in your original post and are now digging that hole bigger and bigger

It is not pleasant to talk about little children in this way. You appear not to have a problem with it. I do.

They are not 'unfortunate' children. You don't give up do you?

I remember reading somewhere ‘sugar’ is apparently used as a slur by certain people because they think it’s only black people that support Meghan. Something to do with sugar plantations and black Americans. Seems pretty disgusting to use that term. I wonder how it feels to the black women who come on this board and see it.

As I posted upthread, the term “sugar” has to my personal knowledge been in use to describe fans of female royals since at least the early 2000s. So please, none of your groundless race-based slurs.

Indeed. I asked about the children being included in the videos when social
media is apparently the spawn of the devil and the children’s privacy is to be jealously guarded. I have to say I think I may recognise this particular slippery poster, with a fondness for ChatGPT 🤔😆😆

This appears to be a fairly balanced discussion, but generally I find the hatred of Megan and Harry is bordering on hysteria. I'm not a fan, but everyday SM is spouting the most horrible vitriol about them, mostly her. Yes she comes across badly, but the level of public hatred actually seems quite abusive. I'd probably be suicidal if I had to put up with what she has had to from the British Press.

You have 100% nailed it there

Mumble12 · 18/06/2025 13:17

Bickybics · 16/06/2025 09:09

One of Harry’s reasons for not wanting the children to grow up in the U.K. was their lack of privacy and they would be photographed going to school every day (not true).
They live in a state that protects their privacy. Privacy isn’t just about photographs though, it’s talking about them, sharing videos of them, even without showing their faces fully. I think they’ve crossed a line. Plenty of celebs now do not show their children at all, they’re doing it for a reason, probably financial. Everything now seems to be about making money.

I doubt they'll be bothered about whether you think they've crossed a line.

Perhaps focus on real life, not the rights and wrongs of two strangers parenting style that don't know you exist?

Groundless? When the PP is ‘pretty sure’ they saw it once on Twitter and persuaded Chat GPT to agree?!

NormaMajors1992coat · 18/06/2025 13:19

Not to mention Christopher Bouzy, he of the ‘there’s no cancer, she’s just pretending’ opinion.

If people are still comfortable using the term knowing the potential connotations that are out there, that’s a personal decision for them.

On the topic of the interview, I actually really liked the quote from Meghan ‘someone else’s urgency is not my urgency’

How very profound (not) of her. I don’t know the context as I only have your one sentence to go on, but someone else’s urgency is sometimes yours too (ever had a boss who presented you with some new work they wanted done now!).

I guess Netflix and Spotify can both attest to their urgency not being her concern (note to Meghan: It was meant to be!).

JustNavy · 18/06/2025 13:25

NormaMajors1992coat · 18/06/2025 13:07

This must be Harry (going by the content of the post as well as the username)

Don’t think Harry would be as measured in his words. Last I heard he felt sorry for the trolls and would certainly lead with that.
but as for the post, at some point this conversation will need to be had, how much longer can this volume that goes beyond mere criticism continue and be allowed to continue. I think we’re a few years away from regulation catching up with technology/social media and there’s bigger fires burning in the world right now. So on and on it will go.

Serenster · 18/06/2025 13:29

Here you go - messages on a message board founded in 2007 and from the very start referring to fans of the various royals they were discussing as being “sugar-coated” and sugars…

Harry and Meghan have a political agenda on internet content and usage, aimed at children and worried/berevaved parents. An agenda driven via Archewell through their work with the Aspen Institute, The Parent Network and think tanks which influence politics worldwide and political parties intent on censoring internet content that doesn't align with their ideological positions. If this pair of useful idiots were to get their way, results of their campaigning would impact us all. It is absolutely right to hold up this pair as the "do as I say" hypocrites that they are, as one would hold up any other political influencer.

well fingers crossed Meghan is trawling mumsnet then for ways to improve her ideologies to align with those of strangers.

If she had the humility to listen to anyone else, including those strangers she relies on to support her business interests, I'd be impressed. Sadly nothing indicates this is the case. You can bet a large jar of spread on her trawling through social media, though.

Harry by all metrics and Meghan by most is a net loser. They were sitting ducks for people looking for rich pickings. There won’t be any more of those on the horizon, other than the odd desperado who happens to have more money than sense. It’s a cold, cut throat world out there, as Meghan knew and Harry is finding out. She’s a lifetime ahead of him in this regard

Since the title of the thread concerns him this is why I wonder what Harry really feels about what his life has become

Many of the A listers and power brokers now turning their backs are only too glad to associate themselves with the world he came from - though never ask me why - and the change must be bewildering to someone with so little judgement and insight, stuck as he is in a trade-off culture he'll barely understand

Hard to believe this is the guy who insisted it's his father and brother who are the ones "trapped" Confused

You don't see the hypocrisy in Harry and Meghan calling to "keep children off social media" for their protection while at the same time using their children to flog jam and pancake mix?

Their brand seems to be reduced to family/mommy blogging on Instagram.

And her urgency isn't other people's. Silly mare.

The sugars explanations are total lunacy, sorry. There is nothing on line to suggest, when the term was coined, that it was anything other than the sycophantic saccharinity of Meghan’s followers. Your attempts to shoe horn racism into the thread are ridiculous. Bouzy is an individual with a very nasty agenda. Harry and Meghan need to distance themselves.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/06/2025 14:14

If you scroll back to 13:29, @Nagginthenag, Serenster's just done us all a service in showing that the term was actually coined long before Meghan came onto the scene, and that therefore the "explanations" attaching it to her ethnicity as are silly as they seem

Not thaat there was ever much doubt, but it's still good to see it put so clearly

It’s interesting, talking about choosing to use a word when to some people it has certain connotations.

In terms of Britain’s colonial powers in the 19th century, it was only possible because of the might of the Navy. Britannia rules the waves and all that.

The navy allowed Britain to exert its influence and control over vast territories, project military force when needed, and suppress rebellions in the colonies. It also played a key role in the initial exploration and conquest of new territories, as well as in their subsequent defense and administration.

……It’s also…..JustaColour @JustNavy

Strange how we can look at a word and form whatever argument we want to make the user look less than virtuous.
