Wish I could go back and find all those posters who predicted a Kardashian-esqe social media blitz at some point in H&M's future, wonder where are all the posters who we're so affronted by the very idea of that.

People magazine and all, the uber celeb magazine.

I guess needs must with the downfall of her business efforts, \oh look, here are my kids whose privacy we have decided to forego for the greater good of taking the heat off what a crap business woman I am'.

Although he is at a firm called Good Relations, so I don’t think he’s in house.

They could.

It’s really hard to work out, but it seems theres next to no one working at Archewell. They’ve all gone- from what I can see- There’s only 3 names still there. I don’t think Archewell is really in operation anymore.

I don't think it's ever been much more than a shell.

Remember the French doc a few years back that visited the registered offices and found them empty?

NormaMajors1992coat · 15/06/2025 11:54

I remember when Archewell was going to change the world - people were really talking about these two in the same breath as the Obamas 😂😂

I think we might be waiting quite a while before we see Michelle hitching up her skirts for a slut drop on insta 🫣

It’s really just Harry PR I think- the guy covers Invictus and Harry stuff for the UK. His name is Liam Maguire.

But he could also be going, who knows

Ah, that would make sense, Atlusvue, especially as the chances of Meghan ever returning to the UK seem slim
As you say though, I wonder just how long this one will stick around

I think we might be waiting quite a while before we see Michelle hitching up her skirts for a slut drop on insta

Funny you should mention that, @NormaMajors1992coat, since Michelle was the first person I thought of on seeing it - but then Michelle has poise, dignity and credibility so that "quite a while" can probably be changed to never

As for Harry, between the Elizabeth Arden cream, the loss of his virginity, the circumcision details, the frostbite and now this I have to wonder what the obsession with his genitals is about
It's said that little boys often find them fascinating, but most grow out of it

I haven’t seen any memes - but nothing could be worse than the original ! Harry pointing at his nether regions is seared on my eyeballs and as for the skirt hitching… 🤢

They are out there and they're not flattering. It's been a big mistake.

Wow, really? She must be questioning her latest moves if she’s losing followers.

I think a lot of the 600k followers she got after posting the twerk video were bots and AI accounts, so she lost 1/3 of those followers, probably a lot of the views were also bots.. Someone posted at the time how the increases in followers looked suspicious as the numbers were increasing by the exact same number every hour for several hours..

Wonder if they do exit interviews 😂that must be illuminating.

My god, Harry dancing groin level to the camera 🤢, Meghan hitching her dress up for the squat part... just keep it private!

I read an article where someone pointed out how they never interacted with each other, no eye contact, no touching, nothing, which I didn't notice until it was pointed out, and it's so accurate, the assumption being it was never a 'private' spontaneous moment just for both of them, it was more likely choreographed for the Netflix series and it didn't make it into the show, or another show they were planning at some point.

@AtIusvuethe thing is, I just can’t see Netflix committing more cost into As Ever.

If they’d been heavily involved with a level of control over it then I can’t see the launch and subsequent total failure to restock or build on the initial “success” being such a disaster. It would make no sense to me if they were now funding PR agencies and other staff.

My theory was that it was a revenue share agreement where Netflix provided a level of advisory support (and space in their shops) in exchange for a large % of the revenue generated. It would not make sense to me if they were funding the operation and taking that risk on themselves though. As Ever has been a total shit show, I just can’t see what’s in it for NF to get more deeply entwined with the Sussexes when all other sensible brands are distancing themselves as rapidly as possible, particularly given their contractual relationship is ending soon too.

I think NF said it themselves, it’s an experiment. It’s reaching out into fan merch with the Bridgerton stuff etc and this is just an extension on this. I don’t think it’s a very successful one so far, but they are trying to diversify their income with advertising and merch and this is one way they think they can do it.

Whoever is financing As ever, its not Meg. She wouldn’t have the funds. I’m not sure if there are other investors.

I cant see As ever being a success, because the products are just basic white label crap, so don’t see NF sticking around long term. But I think with series 2 coming and a new batch of products, they want to do marketing their way and see if that makes any impact before they make any further decisions about their involvement in the brand.

elessar · 15/06/2025 14:08

Agree, but it seems a very odd choice to be putting further investment into someone who has an incredibly tarnished brand. Pick someone popular and well loved, it makes sense. Or a viral hit show like Bridgerton, likewise.

Meghan is incredibly unpopular all over the world. I can see Netflix giving this a punt if it’s extremely limited risk for them, just to see if it takes off, but I can’t see them stumping up much up front cash.

as for who’s funding As Ever? Well, I can’t see much to suggest that anyone is, which I suspect is why the first stock run was so limited and hasn’t been replenished - I think Meghan is unwilling to put her hands in her pocket to stump up the cash for a large order, and it doesn’t look like anyone else is either, hence all the PR fluff about taking time to consider what the brand should be and so on.

if there is a restock in June as has been claimed, I suspect it will be another very limited run which will sell out very quickly too.

What else is happening with the brand? Not much as far as I can tell.

NormaMajors1992coat · 15/06/2025 14:19

Honestly, she runs that business like she hates money. Maybe she’s making some sort of philosophical point about capitalism / equality or something? Throwing the white prince’s inherited riches down the drain while taking the piss with an overdone version of corporate speak and PR. Maybe this whole thing has been an extra long episode of Black Mirror or Brass Eye 🤔

Agree with this. It is both of them dancing apart and clearly for the camera. I don't think that really struck me when I watched it as I was being struck by so many other things (disbelief...incredulity...WTF...)

Butteredtoast55 · 15/06/2025 15:56

I'm very torn on the 'twerking' video. It's clearly something that some couples do, especially for tik tok or sharing platforms. If you watch any of them, it's similar in that it's clearly being done for the camera and 'LOLS'. It's not like she's in advanced labour. It's a performance on the part of the parents to be. It's another trend that I find completely inexplicable, crass and reductive, but it's enough of a 'thing' online that they're just another couple doing the same thing.

What I find extraordinary is that they shared it thinking it makes them seem fun and relatable, instead of utterly cringeworthy. And that they chose to share it to celebrate their daughter's birthday. It's making it all absolutely about them and not about their child. I do try not to compare but if I think about the recent birthday photos of Charlotte and Louis, I know which I find to be more intrusive and an invasion of a family's privacy.

Vespanest · 15/06/2025 16:47

I believe Netflix are there for the users subliminally effects of Harry and Meghan. They may not attract the viewers when not discussing the royal family but they do provide Netflix advertising. The psychology that if something is repeated enough it sticks. Those reading may not tune into As Ever or Polo but when the plan to watch something then Netflix will automatically pop into the mind without even realising the pathway why. The same with Disney, those they are marketing may not see them and think let's go to Disney but they may see the imagery and think about taking their children.

Which sums them up pretty-much completely.

Are they a brand which businesses want to be associated with, though? Isn't their reputation bad?

I don't understand this bot and A1 thing. How does it work?

Bots > a type of account that is not run by a human, but rather by software or an automated program. These bots are designed to mimic human activity on the platform, such as liking posts, following accounts, and leaving comments. Bots can be programmed to perform a wide range of actions, including liking posts, following accounts, unfollowing accounts, commenting on posts, sending direct messages, and even viewing stories.

AI accounts > Similar to bot accounts, also computer generated, except you can interact with some of them. (scary)

AI accounts

  • Inflating follower counts: Some accounts use bots to automatically follow users, hoping some will follow them back and artificially increase their follower numbers.
  • Data gathering: Certain fake profiles may follow real users to collect personal information, even from private profiles, potentially to gain access to details the user prefers to keep private.
  • Promotional purposes: Businesses and influencers might purchase fake followers to appear more popular and attract more real followers or sponsors.
  • Spreading scams and misinformation: Some fake accounts, potentially controlled by malicious actors, are used to promote scams, phishing links, or misinformation through following and engagement.
