I don't understand why she's posted this. In what way is she hoping to enhance here brand/improve her image? It's so weird.

Hmm I have teenage DGC and their reaction was “ gross” .

Older teen girls seem to like her for some reason but yes I can see why they’d react like that.

It’s been a Tik Tok/insta etc trend since 2018 apparently & thousands do/have done it. So yes, many find very relatable, just read some of the more positive newspaper comments. Quite the U turn for H who didn’t wholeheartedly embrace the Queen’s suggestion of a bumpy car ride to effect same ends.

I couldn’t care less about their decision to film a silly dance video while in the labour room. I do think its a strange move to release it publicly given it will make it harder in future for them to claim that their private life is private (the more you release yourself, the harder it is legally to maintain the argument that your privacy should be proteceted by the courts). It also really doesn’t seem to chime with their “serious thought leaders and global change makers” brand - but their branding is been all over the place so that’s less surprising.

I do wonder how they knew in 2021 that this was a social media trend, as both have been saying since at least 2020 that social media was dangerous, and in Meghan’s case, that she’d disabled her accounts. As ever with them, their relationship with the truth is shaky.

Profhilodisaster · 05/06/2025 11:45

I do think it's sad that they seem to have lost their way so badly, resorting to old Tik Tok trends , starting and then stopping a business, faux Royal Tours etc.
They should take a break, gather themselves and decide what they want to do and how they want to be perceived.

User14March · 05/06/2025 11:40

I think they are very/most popular with the late teen demographic so that might be a sweet spot for the brand.

That age bracket has no money to spend on Megan’s products and they will not make her millions. Plus teenagers are notorious in that their demographic likes and dislikes fluctuates continuously. It is anything but a sweet spot and I highly doubt they have a lot of teen “fans”

Fair enough - maybe something will stick eventually.

It's nothing to do with anyone having a favourable opinion, it's about the 'oh you're a racist, a hater, nothing better to do, go and get some fresh air, go and smell the grass' solely because posters think Meghan's content is shite, or that she is inauthentic, publicity attention seeker, poor businesswoman, etc etc. Those are usually the Meghan superfans who arrive with the same playbook time after time. There are posters on this thread who think the video is cute and who left it at that, without having to reach for the Sussex Squad mantras.

"Cute" is the term popping up on other sites. Part of today's SS script.

I've seen it a lot, it's a really weird choice of word to use for that type of dance.

I can image…..

’You need more crotch dancing H’

’please make sure you’re out of shot so everyone can get a good angle of me getting down to twerk’

Some of you need to go to You Tube right now and search “origins of twerking, African dance” and you might learn something and be surprised.

And when you have watched a few videos, you might like to then try and deny the racist overtones on this thread.

As for the poster who used the term “white noise” earlier, can’t be bothered to search, that’s quite an unfortunate phrase to use in this context but spot on!

slinkiemalinkiey · 05/06/2025 11:57

Can you imagine the people who sat in that court in London recently ?

Number one tactic when Meghan makes a complete tit of herself and or lies and is called out blame it on racist overtones 😂

I’m assuming the video is a recreation of the event and Harry will pop up later to inform us that Meghan never said it was the actual birth , it was the U.K. media that said that!

😂😂😂

I have always pooh-poohed the surrogacy conspiracy theories, because she did put on weight (just like we all mostly do when pregnant) but I must say, weight aside, the bump does look like a pillow stuffed down a pair of big pants! Can't be though.

Through both pregnancies she had a visibly changed face shape due to weight gain / water retention. She really did look very different. I find it very hard to believe she wasn't pregnant. Haven't watched the video though.

Wheresthebeach · 05/06/2025 12:05

Their desperate use of social media, while at the same time denouncing social media as dangerous makes them beyond hypocritical. This is utterly cringeworthy for them both.

I've watched the video, she is definitely pregnant in it. There is a monitoring belt attached which makes the bump a weird shape (obviously Lili was nicer than my baby who kept kicking the belt off!) plus she is moving around a lot and hitching her dress which all created odd shapes occasionally. But she is pregnant, both children are obviously hers and Harry's 'heirs of the body' otherwise they wouldn't be in the Line of Succession.

Have a look at the videos and educate yourself. Ignorance isn’t a sufficient defence now we have the internet.

I'm not on Tiktok either. If this was a trend a few years ago though it makes more sense. All her Instagram posts are dated in tone and content so releasing it is also in line with her social media.

Whilst I wouldn't be filming myself as much as Harry and Meghan do, it's up to them. I just find it weird to release the video publically. But I'm old and even more behind the times than Meghan is.

I assume she is wearing the double belts for CGT monitoring underneath her dress (one monitors contractions in the mother and the other the baby’s heart rate). I spent many hours in labour with these on (and being monitored in the hospital day unit every second day before I delivered). Although why she’d have them on but not hooked up is a mystery. Perfectly possible though.

I really don't get why it's racist to think releasing this video wasnt the most sensible move.

Most people are commenting on the decision to release a video of a private moment rather than commenting on dance styles.

Maybe you should take your own advice and search “What is white noise” and you might also learn something?
