I don't understand why she's posted this. In what way is she hoping to enhance here brand/improve her image? It's so weird.

It's just so odd, as there's been no lead up to it

Well there's the new PR team, @DiamondThrone, but would professionals with any sense really be behind something like this?

In fairness I've no idea of the track records of the folk they've got and it may be that they can no longer attract skilled people, but either way I can imagine some raised eyebrows among the more principled circles they once aspired to

I really don't get why it's racist to think releasing this video wasnt the most sensible move.

Most people are commenting on the decision to release a video of a private moment rather than commenting on dance styles.

No need to rise to it, MrsLF

We can all recognise and abhor the racism Meghan was genuinely subjected to, as hopefully we would no matter who it concerned, but dragging the term into absolutely everything is a tired tactic I thought was largely past - not least because it often assumes a hive mind which IME doesn't exist

MaturingCheeseball · 05/06/2025 12:18

Well @Puzzledandpissedoff they had become a bit of a yawn - Meghan’s useless business and Harry pompously flailing around demanding security.

But now - full threads all over the internet, masses of newspaper comments, their Fans awoken… The only problem is how they are going to keep this (low) level up.

I was referring to the fact that someone referred to it as “crotch dancing” down thread.

Not referring to you specifically MrsLeonFarrell but I’d be interested to know if anyone on this thread has actually watched a traditional African dance or attended a class? Seriously? Are we all so removed from cultures different to our own?

I genuinely wanted to know why the racism accusation was thrown. It didn't seem to relate to the posts or the video.

As for the poster who used the term “white noise” earlier, can’t be bothered to search, that’s quite an unfortunate phrase to use in this context but spot on!

Maybe you should take your own advice and search “What is white noise” and you might also learn something?

Please don’t patronise me Serenster

I was using a play on words as you well know.

I think we have all seen pictures or videos of bull fighting, so should that be something we replicate too 🙄

Do any of you spend the same amount of time you spend hating on H&M spend equal time thinking about why you are such haters???

Serenster · 05/06/2025 12:22

Wheresthebeach · 05/06/2025 12:05

Their desperate use of social media, while at the same time denouncing social media as dangerous makes them beyond hypocritical. This is utterly cringeworthy for them both.

Meghan’s comments at Dealbook summit in November 2021:

"I think there is really legitimate media but at the moment, you see in many ways social media feeding into that so it becomes a race to the bottom. This clickbait culture has made it so that something that's salacious is more interesting and gets more pickup and can be monetized, so that ends up being the thing that feeds the entire environment of the media."

Meghan went on to explain that because news on social media is "so quick and rapid in how it's being delivered," certain parts of journalism have become "about creating the news rather than reporting the news." She added, "The damaging effects of that specifically for women, and especially for young girls, is impossible to even quantify."

Good to see that not even four years later she’s fully committed to playing her part in the race to the bottom she decrys.

Yes I have. That's why I was confused.

I had missed that particular phrase, lots of posts to catch up on, and I agree it wasn't very nice.

I don’t think accusing a poster of racism is justifiable as a “play on words”, personally.

Maybe her PR team are very young? With the amount of scrutiny that her social media gets I would think it would be important to have really experienced people who can consider how posts will play out in the tabloids. I'm not sure her team have that level of insight and experience.

I am not asking you to replicate anything. I am asking you to type “the origins of twerking and African dance” in to the You Tube search engine.

I know you did, MrsLF, but as we're already seeing people just avoid the question and suggest some don't understand because they're not "educated"

Unfortunately this has included some who've previously identified themselves on here as being black, but presumably their accusers have either missed this or are just relying on that hive mind I mentioned

I am not on TikTok but across USA etc too so…

My point was thousands isn't very much and you were using it as defence.

There does seem to be an uptick in rehashing certain themes.

Some of the comments on this thread haven't been very nice but I wouldn't call them racist. But having said that I'm aware that I could be wrong which is why I wanted more information.

Personally, having been on twitter in the years before Musk, I really hate the phrase "educate yourself", it always makes me want to do the opposite! Sometimes I'm a grumpy toddler.

Oh right so they were doing a serious traditional African dance as part of her alleged labour or were they actually two over privileged idiots acting like racists performing some warped cultural appropriation piss take.

Its must be one or the other 🤔

Haters . Can supporters find a new word ? It’s not hate to find someone’s behaviour reprehensible. It’s not hate to dislike liars . It’s not hate to find H and M hypocrites.

you are contradicting yourself in your post.

The accusation of using a surrogate, and faking pregnancy in the process, were thrown at both Kate and Meghan.

Haters is the right word to describe the trolls.

You calling them liar is your opinion that you seem to confuse with facts. Liars about what exactly?

Well I suppose it gets them talked about if that's their aim, but I can't say the overall impression strikes me as something desirable

Fair enough if it works for their few remaining fans though; we can all agree to disagree but it just seems a shame some have little to offer beyond insults and unfounded accusations

well, if you call NEWS the release of a 4yo video of the non-event of a mother dancing to go into labour, you are actually proving her point

They made a rod for their own back, with the way they surrounded the births in secrecy and outright lies. They also didn’t have 4 doctors sign and state they observed the birth, thats expected for a Royal birth.

That’s fine. But because of these surrogacy rumours, what she is now having to do to dispel the rumours….is put out a video of her grinding her ass in the delivery room. FFS, have a shred of dignity.

I don’t believe she’s wearing a bump. I think she has an extremely short, almost abnormally short torso (literally has no waist) and this had led to the bump being extremely high.

However, they brought this nonsense on themselves. If you chose to outright lie about the births of your kids and state it’s for privacy reasons….then post to the world, a video of her getting down and jiggling her butt before the birth. Then you reap what you sow.

Her bump is down to her knees in one of the photos posted above!
