The Era of Joy didn't last long.

This is going to be interesting, it's going to be a full on PR onslaught for the next few months, and then we will have Harry launching his very own 'commercial project'.

Clearly an article straight from the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, giving an exclusive to the DM.

Exactly, they are the problem, not their staff, not their structure, it is their personalities and wild promotion of themselves which has destroyed their brand.

Ashley, who was driven to a mental health facility, and her new PR company are clearly ditched, despite all the protests to the contrary at the time. What about WME, no mention of their agents in this.

I think making this big announcement about a shake up in their staff and structure, undermines them even more, it proves they have been unsuccessful, it proves all the previous shake-ups, and hiring and firing didn't work despite all the protests everything was hunky dory..

Now they are copying the RF structure, the one they desperately needed to get away from because it was too old fashioned and inflexible. There was a line in one of those articles that if Camilla could rehabilitate her public image then Harry could too, but it took Camilla 30 years or so and the men in grey (who H&M don't rate) to do it along with being a big part of the RF.

I thought they didn’t want to be royal- why are they mimicking the structure of the business side of the Royal Family.
They really don’t see themselves as anything other than the entitled side of being royal. But they did leave and they’re no more royal than the rest of us.
I can go with the idea of the Royal Family - and quite enjoy the spectacle. But this pair are not part of that small group, no matter how much they try to mimic it.

They're trying to be Ultra Royals, aren't they? The wealth, status and privilege, no responsibility.
Just the money.

MayaKovskaya · 25/05/2025 09:43

Thanks for this, @Thedom .
Not a very diverse team, unless I am mistaken? They need to take advice from KC and the PoW about improving this.

MayaKovskaya · 25/05/2025 09:45

So, basically - correct me if I'm wrong - a huge, expensive team to promote them as celebrities and help them to get more money?
Trading on titles and royal connections? Keeping them in the headlines?
What kind of desperation is this?

The Montecito Grey Suits

Interesting when you see it side by side like that, I was scrolling the DM article and noticed the photos, but the side by side really emphasises how poor they are at any type of diversity.

Where does Archewell fit into all this nonsense?

HonoriaBulstrode · 25/05/2025 09:54

.....but it took Camilla 30 years or so and the men in grey (who H&M don't rate) to do it along with being a big part of the RF.

And Camilla herself put in the work. And she never whinged or complained. Her public behaviour has been unimpeachable.

This week might be interesting. The King is making an important visit to Canada. The object of the visit is to stick two fingers up to Trump, so if H&M attempt to upstage it, they will be doing Trump's work for him.

Good question. Should we pull at the thread that is African Parks?

Where does Archewell fit into all this nonsense?

It doesn’t fit anywhere in this new structure.

The new operation will be run separately to Archewell, the Sussexes' philanthropic foundation.

This ⬆️.

This reminds me of places I worked where the senior management recognised there was a problem, brought in consultants to fix the issue, but didn't like the recommendations. They then brought in another team of consultants, who came to exactly the same conclusions, and then another, and it went on like this for a few years after I left.

I still think, in theory, they could turn around their public image to an extent but that would require them to listen to their staff and change the way they do things. No point in restructuring and bringing in new staff if you never implement the findings.

The Montecito Grey Suits

If they are Meghan's people, they will be in beige or griege.

😂hang on, hang on.... didn't Meghan claim that she couldn't wear bright colours when a royal.. she had to blend in? 🤔

Yes, and it's true. When she wasn't wearing bright blue, red, green, yellow, purple and soft pink, or something with a bold pattern, or black (particularly at other people's weddings) or flouncing the colour code in some other way, then yes, she faded into the background wearing something neutral, forced no doubt, and nobody noticed her at all, particularly not the press.

Spectre8 · 25/05/2025 10:24

Well good luck to them, they wanted to go earn their own money and thays what they are doing then hope it works out for them. They seem to have different personal interests in terms of their work so makes sense they have their own team of people.

Both Harry & Meghan claimed a lot of things...
Editing to add I wish someone would write a book (or do a podcast as seems to be the way these days) going through all their claims and debunking them!

Butteredtoast55 · 25/05/2025 10:26

Hmmm. I think it's going to be an uphill struggle for this crack team of PR experts. And how long will it take if their approach isn't working before they're thrown under the bus?
Too many people see the Sussexes, especially Harry, for who they are now. And, dare I say it, for a lot of people they're utterly irrelevant beyond being a slightly entertaining spectacle of awfulness.

Yes. So - more lies 🙄

Exactly.

Edited

Yes, I hope they earn their own money too. It would be good if it wasn't on the basis that they have Royal titles, but that's the situation. They are very royal and will do anything to maintain that status and privilege, it would seem.
Ex officio royalty.

BoredZelda · 25/05/2025 09:27

Ahh, the Daily Mail never fails does it? Writes a piece full of nonsense, (probably “sourced” from within the RF) so people can paste the link and have everyone who believes it, salivate over it and post their vitriol.

And you all fall for it hook, line and sinker. 😆

There’s quotes from the Sussexes’ representatives in the article, BoredZelda….

Any bets on how many of these employees will still be there in 6 months time? They better get used to the M&H way of managing staff pdq!

Good point, but they have no substance. It's all flim flam. What do they do in the absence of ability, talent, work ethic, integrity and honesty?
Play on their royal titles. Monetise them. Meghan can carry on with the hostessing, Harry can be a professional victim. It's not sustainable though.
