I've embarrassed for Meghan saying that her arranging takeaway food on a plate is the same thing as what Figs Heather Hasson has done 😬

I know someone who was BA First Class cabin crew in the 70s and she came across pretty much every celeb of the time you can imagine. She did say that the expectation was discreet, professional behaviour and definitely no what we would call "fangirling" .

I read somewhere that J Lo always flies with an assistant who handles all interactions with cabin crew and refers to her as 'Ms. Lopez'.

That might sound a bit divaish but I would say it's a lot more typical of how high profile people travel than passing notes to the cabin crew. As you say, the expectation is discretion and professionalism, not giddy fangirling. In fact, I would say that passing a note to a 'celebrity' passenger could be grounds for dismissal. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm highly sceptical that this interaction happened.

HonoriaBulstrode · 24/05/2025 13:57

I too once worked in a well known London shop where we often saw celebrities. You might say privately to a colleague 'I've just seen so-and-so' but you left them alone unless they asked for help, then you dealt with them as professionally as you would any other customer.

I disagree - there were many threads which were titled 'a nice thread about MM...' 'MM out and about part 5/6/7...' etc Each of her initiatives and trips had a separate positive thread with many positive followers - where have they gone and why hasnt this happened for WLM, As Ever, Anniversary Mood Board etc?

I mean we still have people bring up her pregnancy and whether she carried her children or not ...groundhog day.

Did you forget that it was MM herself who brought up her pregnancy - as she posted new photos of her pregnant belly and baby scan this week -- cleary she wanted this seen and discussed even if you dont - its topical and current discussion due to MM posting new photos.

Its also disinformation / disingenuous of you to not acknowledge that the surrogacy posts were reported, deleted and unanimously derided by everyone on this thread.

I tried to start one for the readers who wanted to say nice things freely, however I completely underestimated how much knowledge and skill it would take to maintain the thread! It fizzled out quite quickly, and there was speculation about my username (which I thought was smart arse, but turns out it’d been used elsewhere by trolling video creators), so I guess it also put people off the thread. It’s much easier to be a reader and commenter than an OP :)

I went to a clothes fair today. At one stall, a lady was trying something on and the stall owner kept saying how this particular item would elevate anything else it was worn with.

She must've used the word "elevate" at least 3 times, and it dawned on me that, along with "vitriol", "elevate" has become a word for me with inescapable connotations, and a word that I shall henceforth use very sparingly!

Harry's 'royal' court in California as Sussexes attempt rebuild brand https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-14746495/Prince-Harry-royal-court-California-Sussexes-attempt-rebuild-brand.html?ito=native_share_article-nativemenubutton
This is interesting.
Harry and Meghan have a new team of 11, all on high salaries, in order to rebuild their brand and reputation.
An alternative Royal Court indeed.
What's the plan?

I can't read the article but 11 staff seems a little bit excessive for what they do. Does it include Netflix executives or household staff like cleaners?

FenellaFeldman · 25/05/2025 07:31

No, it's basically management staff. PR, communications etc. it's like the RF have, only more.

FenellaFeldman · 25/05/2025 07:34

It's basically a large management group, dedicated to their promotion. They want to get Meghan and Harry more lucrative deals, build reputation, promote them and keep them in the headlines.
It's about making as much money as possible, and keeping a high level celebrity profile.

They really want to piss money away, don’t they? I wonder if it feeds Meghans ego to have a team like that that she can boss around. It really doesn’t sound like what Harry wants. They’d be much better off saving their money and living simpler lives.

FenellaFeldman · 25/05/2025 07:48

You'd think, wouldn't you, @AmeliaHarbottle ! It's just to replicate - and enlarge on - the Royal Household. It makes them feel important, it gives them status. According to the DM (who seem to be fed a lot by H&M at the moment), it's an expensive professional team who will promote them and get good deals $$$$ and keep them in the news and talked about in Social Media.

flapjackfairy · 25/05/2025 07:59

i can't imagine any of that is what H wants. I almost feel sorry for him . He thought he was getting a down to earth lass who would be happy to live a quiet life in Africa( or the wilds of Canada at least, ) instead of which he is living a vacuous existence in Montecito.
Did he foresee this I wonder or was he just bedazzled by her and blindly following along.
As for the new team well unless they are willing to change their ways and actually take advice how long are this new batch going to last?

Thedom · 25/05/2025 08:02

That is laughable, another rebrand and restructure. 11 PR staff and another different external PR company, Harry clearly misses the olden golden days, trying to emulate it all again, guess the RF men in grey weren't so bad after all.

First hired by the Sussexes in 2022, she is already a trusted hand and masterminded their successful three-day trip to Nigeria last year, which was said to have been 'controlled skilfully'.

😁the tour where they were accepting favours bribes from corrupt Nigerians and ex felons, where Meghan dressed like she was going to a beach rave in Ibiza, where Harry was a laughing stock because he was so publicly sidelined and diminished by his wife, where the injured vets in hospital beds turned out to be a set up for a photo opportunity. . The tour where Meghan was subsequently scolded by a government official for dressing like she was going to the Met ball (cant remember the role of that lady now.).

Their bar is pretty low if they think that was a successful tour which was 'masterminded' by anyone even remotely competent.

Thedom · 25/05/2025 08:07

Think this deserves a thread all of its own, as its going to be interesting, probably leaning more to the funny side, to see their new restructured team in action.

ThePoshUns · 25/05/2025 08:15

They really are the gift that keeps on giving. I can’t wait for the next instalment.

MaturingCheeseball · 25/05/2025 08:18

Just recalling the thousands of comments from their Supporters on here about leaving them alone, how they’re enjoying a private life with their children and, of course, how they’ve escaped from toxic Royal Family duties.

Turns out they’re desperate not to be ignored, want as much publicity as possible and are up for the opportunity to sprinkle their HRH dust on the opening of even the tattiest envelope.

flapjackfairy · 25/05/2025 08:19

For all the fantastic lifestyle imagine knowing that for the rest of your days you were going to have to perform on social media and hustle to maintain your lifestyle when you could have had a stress free existence on that front with a lifestyle beyond imagining for most people. The pressure to stay afloat must be enormous at times. And yes money isn't everything but it is in their circles. They could have been top of the tree ( except for senior Royals which I guess is the whole problem ) and threw it all away. Madness..

I’m beginning to wonder if they need the attention of all these staff in order to function. Otherwise it’s just the two of them and tumbleweed. Then they have to think hard about what their lives have become.

Superhansrantowindsor · 25/05/2025 08:29

On the money side of things - I keep seeing people say they need money, expensive lifestyle etc. But didn’t they get £100 million from Spotify? Surely that is enough for ever if invested wisely?

yes you are probably right.

It would take a lot of humility and self reflection to actually face the truth of the situation they are in and take responsibility for it. I am.not sure either of them.is capable of that tbh.
They wantd to.promote the idea of finding freedom from the RF but are now in a prison of their own making having to sing for their supper .

emphasise on the word wisely !
Yes they could lead a much simpler existence and eek.it out but that is obviously not what they ( Meghan ? ) want. Ut wouldn't give her the kudos she seems to crave and I would imagine a lot has gone already.

The rumour was that they got that amount from NF, but a 'source' claimed that was not the case. Given their failure to produce, they won't have seen anything like that sort of money. NF don't go around handing out tens of millions for little in return. Spotify dumped them after Meghan produced only 12 episodes of a podcast, so they won't have got much there either.

Obviously we can only guess at their combined net worth, but while it's no doubt enough to make them very wealthy by normal standards, they're far from super rich.

I think you have a point there.

Superhansrantowindsor · 25/05/2025 08:50

How much money do you think they need as an income ? I’m clueless about these things.

FenellaFeldman · 25/05/2025 08:51

It's extraordinary. They're trying to be so Royal. Extra Royal, just as the RF are downsizing and reducing the scale of their operations, the Sussex duo are upscaling.
Elevating, if you will.
