I've embarrassed for Meghan saying that her arranging takeaway food on a plate is the same thing as what Figs Heather Hasson has done 😬

Bit of a downgrade from having flight crew kneeling in the aisles ☕

😂😂

HiRen · 23/05/2025 23:09

She's stuck between a rock and a hard place re the memoir: publish and she seals her children's fate, permanently and irrevocably out of the RF and reputationally damaged. Don't publish, and what has she got left to spin?

I think what will get to her first is the constant and unrelenting comparisons everywhere to Kate. It's only a matter of time before she says she doesn't want/need to be compared to her, she's living her own life doing her own thing. Which then opens the door inevitably to "but why are you still using HRH? Why the titles for your kids? Why insist on Duchess or Sussex?" etc.

She's really stuck, whichever way she turns. Which is as it should be: nobody should be handsomely rewarded for, well, nothing. Unless you're in the RF - which she loudly and permanently slammed the door on 5 years ago.

Any level headed person receiving that note from the girlies would be embarrassed to receive it let alone reply to it. its nauseating. None of the cabin crew I know (very close relatives included) would ever be so unprofessional, and if it’s not a reason for American Airlines to sack anyone who pulls this kind of stunt it should be.

Jeezo, If having Meghan on board caused the girlies to hyperventilate the way they have, God knows what an emergency would do to them because they come across as 12 year olds.

Baital · 24/05/2025 03:42

I suspect anything truly shocking about the RF would have come out by now. We had a lot of insinuation without it being backed up, bitterness over perceived slights, and most recently claims that a judicial decision was an Establishment stitch up.

I am sure there are things that the RF wouldn't like published, because who would want personal info and private conversations published. That doesn't mean there is anything intrinsically shocking about that info or conversations, or that there's a smoking gun. Just that it's unpleasant if someone you trusted goes on to tell everyone your private info.

Im astonished really that the two of them have managed to carry on spinning out the remnants of what good fortune they had as long as they have. They have behaved so disgracefully and yet on the whole manage to dodge the backlash. There are obviously still lots of people who buy their victim hood narrative. Enough people who do fawn, buy the jam presumably and get all starry eyed about them. Some people who follow her instagram because they actually admire her rather than guffaw in disbelief. It says a lot about human nature and lack of discernement .

Really, Charles shouldn’t have paid for their security for any period once they left the ‘job’. They should have been stripped of their titles years ago. The Palace machine should have responded to their various attacks and insinuations. Fake tours should have been stopped somehow. Yet still they seem to have a lot their own way and get away with it. They are still enormously wealthy and manage to live in a mansion without essentially having to take any responsibility for their actions or do any real work at all.

Yes, I suspect Meghan will write a book at some point in the future - perhaps if they divorce.
Harry has mentioned a second book and said that he had loads of material for the first one that had to be taken out, due to its length. I would suggest that they took out the duller stuff, not the headline-grabbers so I'm not sure how much of a best-seller a sequel would be. Either that or the libellous stuff had to be removed so that presumably still wouldn't be publishable.

NewAgeNewMe · 24/05/2025 07:38

Will they get the big money though a second time around. They’d get some for sure, whether it’s enough or worth it is another matter. I suppose Harry could try to talk about the RAVEC stuff but I imagine the government will want to see it first, as the process of RAVEC doesn’t just affect the royals.

TheMeasure · 24/05/2025 07:49

He's already talked about the Ravec business. Please God let us not be subjected to any more about it.

FenellaFeldman · 24/05/2025 07:51

What's left now? A reality show "At Home with Harry and Meghan". Although to be honest it would be quite dull. Her with her hostess tips and him sitting in a corner being angry about his life of disadvantage.

Mylovelygreendress · 24/05/2025 08:04

Would it not be “ At someone else’s home “?

I know this is a possibility however I would imagine the Royal lawyers will be fully prepared and there would be some very tough negotiations. Meghan will want to keep her title for sure so any agreement is likely to include restrictions on future activities. Unlike Sarah , she is likely to receive a big pay off to keep quiet (ha!)
Having said that I am not wishing divorce on them as there are DC but I simply cannot see them growing old together.

Vespanest · 24/05/2025 09:08

unfortunately I can see Harry becoming unwell before any book. Even if his chief of staff or their joint PR can rebuild him after the disastrous interview how does that translate to making money, he's still got another court case to get through. A book by Meghan would be a big contradiction to her new brand of love, joy and happiness. If Meghan even considered divorce it would have to be in Charles time.

RandyRedHumpback · 24/05/2025 09:45

Harry would have plenty of material for another book, but it would be the death of any hope of a return to the RF. He, William and Catherine were extremely close and no doubt completely candid with one another about how they felt about aspects of royal life and different family members. He could definitely write a load of petty gossip and personal information about each of his family members. He's probably get a lot of money for doing so. And that would make him no better than the tabloids he professes to hate. Although really, he's already on a par with tabloid gossip hacks with Spare - it's only saving grace is the literary - ahem - elevation the ghost writer provided. Harry revealed far more in Spare than any tabloid newspaper ever did about him and his family.

As for a Meghan book, she can go all out with what Harry told her about members of his family, including the "racism" conversation - she can innocently say she doesn't know if it's true, but she always believed him - and then it's all out there, job done. It's Harry's fault if he lied about them. She's the victim of his lies too, and Harry's failure to properly show her the ropes within the Firm, as she wanted it to all work out with the RF, but he was the one pushing them away and leaving her isolated and left to struggle and make mistakes without guidance. He's too dim to be able to turn it back on her. And of course she will have recorded his every move during their time post leaving the RF, the drugs, the lack of work ethic and squandering opportunities, the fixation on the court cases etc - unreasonable behaviour galore!

A rare critical piece from Newsweek about As Ever:

Mark Borkowski, a U.K.-based crisis PR consultant and author, told Newsweek: "The thing to do is when you've got a narrative and you have some positive stories about how quick the stuff sold, is you want to keep it going. So therefore, I'm always curious about what the true story is here. I don't know where this narrative goes. They often forget that the stories they posit are scrutinized and have a long shelf life.

"As soon as nothing's happening, people ask questions but therefore her PR has always been chaos. Maybe the fact it's not restocking gives them the opportunity to refresh the story, but there's just no logic and now of course questions are going to be asked. Do they have the answers?"

I do wonder if Meghan would go there, @RandyRedHumpback . It depends how desperate for money she gets.
In which case it would be no holds barred.

RandyRedHumpback · 24/05/2025 09:54

@FenellaFeldman at some point she's going to have nothing to lose. If she and Harry split, she can re-invent herself as a royal writer and commentator. She'd get plenty of work just because of who she is, even if she hasn't really got anything insightful to say.

I thought Harry was hinting in that interview he did with the BBC, actually. He spoke about "others" who were "trapped" in the RF because of security worries. Really, there's only one person he could have been talking about. If William ever had doubts about his destiny (and what human wouldn't), Harry would know it.

FenellaFeldman · 24/05/2025 09:58

I think it's something of a turning point now for H&M, @RandyRedHumpback . Harry has achieved nothing positive or noteworthy, in spite of the most extraordinary advantages and opportunities.
Meghan is now a Trad Wife, with a hostessing show. It's not even cooking.
Where do they go from here?

She would be indirectly shitting on her children and causing them huge emotional damage if she suddenly eviscerated their 'Papa' having previously told the world how magical a father and husband he was.

RandyRedHumpback · 24/05/2025 10:09

I just don't understand what MM is doing or what she's hoping to achieve, @FenellaFeldman . The only logical thing I can think of is that she thinks she'll sell the IP/brand name to a big company as so many of her podcast pals have done - but they all had an actual, successful product, and a market share where there had previously been a gap. All she has is mass produced, generic HPF shite with her name slapped on it. And clearly, if Sussex friendly press like Newsweek are asking these questions, it's just not working. I suppose she might come up with a surprise when the next part of WLM drops in the Autumn, but I'm not holding my breath!

I think that ship has sailed.
One day those children are going to read Spare. One day they will watch their parents performing on Oprah, Netflix, and assorted interviews with various unpleasant and dishonest claims. It's not going to be great for them.

Knakeredd · 24/05/2025 10:13

Did they say they were off on a Faux Royal trip to Ghana? Or was that opportunity likely to present the Invictus award that the games officials did directly (ie PH didnt physically go but he put out a statement congratulating the recipient as if he was there)
