I've embarrassed for Meghan saying that her arranging takeaway food on a plate is the same thing as what Figs Heather Hasson has done 😬

No one could fake that pregnancy weight - her face and arms were fat!
The way she got mega skinny after having the second was classic, "that's me done," as well.
Everything I read about her irritates me immensely but there's no denying she was pregnant and is beautiful (skin deep).

Agree with all but not as much weight gain with no 2, not that this points to anything.

The surrogacy speculation is ridiculous. Even if I was prone to believing it (which I’m not), she had pregnancy face. That’s not a criticism, I think you can generally tell on tv when an actress is either hiding a pregnancy, or has had a real pregnancy written in, because their face changes. If they’re not pregnant but the character is, the only difference is the bump and their face stays the same. It’s not a weight thing, it’s just pregnancy.
I’m not saying everyone gets it, but you can’t fake it.

HeddaGarbled · 20/05/2025 23:34

This is one of the issues I have some sympathy with Meghan about: not wanting to serve her baby up to the media. There were some silly nasty stories in the Mail et al and then she’s supposed to pose for them at their beck and call.

I remember reading a fictionalised account of Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign and how it stuck in the craw for her to make nice with the press pack when they were running horrible stories about her, but she had to do it to try and turn the narrative to her advantage.

That’s what the royal family do. They put on a show. All the bollocks that’s written about them, no matter how much they must despise individuals, they stick a smile on and do their duty.

Meghan rebelled. Now there’s an argument that if you’re gonna take the money and trappings and whatnot, you have to put up with the performing seal part of the job, but I can see why she was pissed about it.

This was what Harry was talking about when he talked about the contract with the media. Ultimately, he didn’t want to play along with it anymore either. His big error was he thought he could hang on to (most of) the money and trappings and whatnot without fulfilling his side of the contract.

AmeliaHarbottle · 20/05/2025 23:35

I don’t for a minute believe she wasn’t pregnant with
Archie. However I do think it’s very odd that she wore ridiculous high heels throughout her pregnancy and squatted a lot. Also no one wears a white dress a short time after giving birth.

prelovedusername · 20/05/2025 23:49

Meghan wasn’t expected to serve her baby up for the media. There was interest of course but no expectation. They could have announced the birth, released a photo, job done. They certainly didn’t need to tell anyone she had gone into labour, much less lie about it.

TheCraicDealer · 20/05/2025 23:58

I don’t give the surrogacy rumours any credence with Archie, it was very clear from her weight gain, face and rib flare that she’d been pregnant. With her second pregnancy she was much, much less visible and in a country/culture where surrogacy is way more normalised. More likely in those circumstances, but it would still be a huge gamble that I’m not sure many would take.

And whilst I have some sympathy for Meghan railing against the newborn photoshoot and initially not releasing photos of the kids, once you start putting out images of them in the bath, blowing out birthday candles (both in the Netflix documentary) or sonogram photos, your seat on that high horse is no longer quite so secure.

She'd have to trust Harry to keep his trap shut.

If so, he’d be dead meat if blabbed.

It’s also as if any scan photos are to nip any surrogacy rumours in bud/counteract etc. A fairly normal, yet wealthy, couple I know of in US have opted for sex selection for last child - 2 of same sex. A different world there.

Soap actresses in Canada etc freeze eggs/plan to openly use surrogates. It’s extremely tough to get a role & maintain & time not always on side.

Have people forgotten the Oprah interview, she clearly has pregnancy face and is pregnant with Lilibet

Or just weight gain, she’s tiny, so changes show & if using would have a rare hall pass on health/food/fitness regime for 9 months.

If by any small chance, or for medical reasons, she had to/safest route to opt for surrogacy, she’d be compelled not to come clean due to succession laws (& the inevitable judgement) Surely these need a general review to bring to 21st century, anyway? Especially as bio their child if case in this instance.

I’m reporting comments supporting the surrogacy nonsense. I’ve no desire to be associated with them at all as they really are beyond the pale.

Nope not just weight gain. You clearly have never been pregnant or been close to anyone who was. These conspiracy theories really need to stop and Meghan is not perfect and there is room for constructive criticism which cannot be taken seriously while the same people keep promoting the batsh*t surrogacy/moonbump crap. As the previous poster said, JUST STOP!

Fair enough. Of course I know re: pregnancy & I wish M & H very well. They, of course, haven’t helped selves re: honesty & authenticity.

If she had used a surrogate, or, indeed anyone does, it’s each to own & no judgement from me. There can also be very personal reasons for many. The fact remains it’s not that unusual to do so in LA in their bracket & ever more accepted to do so.

Well, they’re inviting comment by their actions & clearly stoking strong emotions in some. Good luck to them, LA is a very different world with different rules & norms, & nothing surprises me. That’s my wider point.

Leading their best lives happily in sunshine would be my goal, if them.

Weepixie · 21/05/2025 04:38

No. I don’t need Harry and Meghan to stoke strong emotions in me when it comes to decency and not wanting to be associated with the absolutely nasty and completely bonkers shite we’ve had posted here about her pregnancies and the children.

And people dressing up their comments with faux niceties just doesn’t work, it’s still very obvious as to what they’re saying but trying to disguise.

Edited

Personally I really do wish them well, agree much of what said batshit, out there & unpleasant. Honesty/integrity, for me, seeds real respect & belief in a person & IMO it’s that that’s been somewhat lacking to date. It’s true that their world & norms very different from most too.

Thedom · 21/05/2025 05:29

This is what I mean about Meghan being a troll, first off adding an image of an ulltrasound scan, then hiding her name on the scan, the extremely weird photo of her heavily pregnant tummy, why add those to a very carefully curated image board celebrating her wedding anniversary.

She is stoking the fire, she wants to provoke that discussion again, it had died down over the years. She wants to cause controversy and she is using her instagram over and over again to do it.

I hadn’t thought about it that way but I think you’re right.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 20/05/2025 23:00

You only have to look at Meghan’s face and body during and after her pregnancies that she carried both children, and that’s not an insult by the way! she wasn’t one of those celebrities who only have a neat little bump and then pinged back into their size eight skinny jeans 24 hours after giving birth, it took her quite a long time to get back to her pre pregnancy size. Meghan isn’t a method actress, I don’t see her stuffing her face with pies to fool the Royal Family and the public that she was pregnant!

Agreed. I really can’t stand the woman, but the fake pregnancy shite is utterly ridiculous.

Serenster · 21/05/2025 07:06

And whilst I have some sympathy for Meghan railing against the newborn photoshoot and initially not releasing photos of the kids…

(ignoring the ridiculous pregnancy speculation) I would have had sympathy for Meghan not wanting the newborn photoshoot too, had it not come out that she had set up an exclusive with a US network and Gayle King to do the big baby reveal, at Windsor rather than the Portland, and timed for US breakfast tv. She knew the market she wanted to make a splash in, and it wasn’t the UK.
