Harry's new interview 2

I just thought I would start second thread since I noticed the first one is full. It has certainly dominated media reporting. I saw a snippet on Sky news earlier. A document from Harry saying its a dereliction of duty to stop his security. Erm who just whizzed off to the USA and left all the duties behind. I havent watched the whole interview. I wonder if he'll appeal again.

The way I see it, the only way we (the public) would know about any such request and reaction is if A&L, their parents or their spokespeople leak the fact to the press of choice of the Sussexes. And that in itself would prove that nothing has changed and they should be given a wide berth by the RF. Yes, the children are innocent, but the doesn't mean the people around them are, or that the RF should put themselves at risk of further drama by allowing them in.

What ‘rightful place’ anyway. They are equivalent to Sarah Chatto and David Linley who at most are occasionally spotted in the background at significant events in Westminster Abbey. Plus their parents chose to take them to live abroad. They have no place whatsoever in the core royal family, isn’t that rather the point now the penny has dropped?

Harry must have the memory of a goldfish.
This is what he said about the BBC's Martin Bashir interview.

Princes William and Harry have spoke of the hurt caused by the interview.
Prince William said Diana "was failed not just by a rogue reporter, but by leaders at the BBC who looked the other way rather than asking the tough questions". He said the interview made a "major contribution to making my parents' relationship worse".
Prince Harry said the "ripple effect of a culture of exploitation and unethical practices" ultimately took his mother's life

He probably used this as a tactic so they wouldn't ask him uncomfortable
Questions, or badger his to actually answer the questions with the actual answers not just a slur or Message he wanted to say in the telly.
It's hilarious how both H&M think they can shape the truth to fit their victimhood or their wants - 🤡🤡

Yet, when Willam and Charles Spencer were on TV saying the Diana/Bashir interview should never be shown again, and asking for a BBC inquiry into how it came about that they aired an interview obtained by fraud, deception and fueling the anxiety and paranoia of a vulnerable woman, Harry used the Bashir interview in his Netflix docusoap to bolster his own claims against the RF and strengthen his claimed connection with his mother's legacy. And many of his supporters on these threads accused William of trying to silence his mother and congratulated Harry on continuing to give her a voice.

I don’t think the penny has dropped, that’s the problem. He seems to think they are all waiting around for him to listen to their apology and then everything will go back to normal. Whatever normal means.

Oh my god. Red flag....

I didn’t know that . I do know she encouraged him to get therapy.

TiredCatLady · 04/05/2025 18:20

What’s the old saying? “Marry in haste, repent at leisure”?

A few years back, I got to go to an event and he was there - I remember my DM having delusions of “make sure you dress nice and get your nails done - you never know, he might pick you”. (I know, I know, it makes me sick in my mouth as well). He was considered such a catch at the time - cheeky, loveable, every inch the eligible batchelor. This was around the same time he had girls holding up “pick me” signs when he was in Australia etc.

The point I’m making is that whoever was doing his press, despite the naked pool, the 80mph motorbike to illegal raves and the nazi outfit, he was golden balls even to my nightmare of a DM. He was mr perfect. Royal but chilled. Serious but fun. All the things Wills couldn’t be. The UKs #1 bloke.

Contrast that with what he is now, now they’re no longer managing his public image. He is sounding more and more like an angry, self obsessed, paranoid man child.

They did a sterling job but behind closed doors it looks like he really wasn’t all that. And that’s why the beautiful, smart, well educated, hardworking women didn’t stick around. The two that were main contenders could have handled the firm with their eyes shut - they’re both now happily married, highly qualified/careers/businesses. And more power to them. Guess they saw the flapping field of red flags and had more sense.

I know that William and Kate also did.

There was a woman on another thread who met Harry in a nightclub, a couple of years before Meghan. She said he reeked of booze and fags and was loud and obnoxious.

Profhilodisaster · 04/05/2025 18:38

I wonder how Meredith Maine is feeling (apparently she brokered the deal for the BBC interview) , possibly not quite as successful as she hoped.

Exactly. I believe that Martin Bashir, by stoking Diana's paranoia with sheer lies, has blood on his hands and the BBC who clearly didn't do due diligence on a huge scoop are also complicit.

As national broadcaster William has little choice but to tolerate them but Harry doesn't have to. Amazing how he can use da ebil meeja when it suits.

Ohpleeeease · 04/05/2025 18:52

I’ve rewatched the interview, every infuriating second of it. It’s such manipulative tosh. Also there are some elements which are very reminiscent of Diana’s Bashir interview and which make me think he’s studied it minutely for tricks to win over public opinion.

Certainly there were strong echoes of Diana in his answers, the wry little smile, the “All I’ve ever wanted is…”

William at rest may look like Diana but Harry has her expressions to a tee.

David Linley and Sarah Chatto seem to have made a fair fist of adult life despite decidedly rackety parents so hopefully Archie and Lili will be able to do the same.

Interesting. He's such a nasty manipulative, mendacious character, isn't he?

So much of this frustrates me. Harry’s statement published in crisp white paper under an actual CROWN when he apparently hates everything about being Royal. Me-ghan’s weird outstretched two handed eye dabbing when she’s fake crying. The screams of “privacy” but selling everyone else out in interviews, books and podcasts.

I think that Harry is very damaged and has been exploited by someone who was very fame hungry and thought everyone would be curtsying and “Your Highessing” only to discover she wasn’t even the understudy. I think a PP had it right - his unpredictability could be managed u til he met Me-than but now he’s a huge loose cannon.

His endless privileged handwringing and demanding is just infuriating. The endless lies - “We got married twice” “I have no security now”
It’s beyond frustrating now. Why does no-one ever call out their outright lies. We all waved them off and wished them well but they just won’t go away!

Dear BBC,

I am writing to complain the the strongest possible terms about your treatment of an institution which for many years has been beloved of many in this fair country. A treatment which I am sure would have our Late Majesty the Queen turning in her grave (God rest her soul). I speak of course of Dr Who, but having seen the interview with Prince Harry recently I would like you to add slipshod journalism to my complaint.

I trust I will see an improvement in both your family programming and the incisiveness of your journalism. Otherwise my great friend Gerald from the golf club , who is a solicitor of some repute in the town, has promised he will send a cease and desist letter in return for a couple of double Glenmorangies.

Yours faithfully
Squadron Leader Discusted of Tunbridge Wells (retired)

When David Linley was born , he was 5th in the LOS . He is now 26th .
This is Harry’s future.

Says it all, and she is in exactly the same position royal wise as A & L will be.
