Harry's new interview 2

I just thought I would start second thread since I noticed the first one is full. It has certainly dominated media reporting. I saw a snippet on Sky news earlier. A document from Harry saying its a dereliction of duty to stop his security. Erm who just whizzed off to the USA and left all the duties behind. I havent watched the whole interview. I wonder if he'll appeal again.

Why do you think he did that? Wizz off to the US?

TheMeasure · 03/05/2025 13:36

Ffs, can we have a sticky on the top of this thread to say that,
HARRY HAS NOT HAD HIS SECURITY STOPPED!!!!
He has to give notice of his impending arrival and the security risks will be assessed and he will be given what is necessary to keep him safe.

MrsLeonFarrell · 03/05/2025 13:47

I don't think he will appeal. Something he said in the interview indicated that his legal team have finally made him realise that he isn't going to win this.

We know that. But Harry doesn't seem to have grasped that yet. If Harry brings his children here they will get security provided for the visit. What they won't get is a permanent security team provided presumably in the US too. That's what he is after as totally vital to the country and super important person.

@Viviennemary super important person??? All I see is someone who thinks the world owes him. He does get security when he's here. Just not at the level he thinks he deserves. Yet he's quite happy jetting off to unsafe countries without thinking twice. He's just a spoilt man child having a temper tantrum because he can't get his own way.

I feel a tiny soupçon of pity for him as he is so obviously damaged and is systematically sabotaging any hope of reconciliation.

The other 99% of me sees a real hypocrite who has betrayed his family and cannot see the contradiction in his own arguments and for whom the fault always lies elsewhere.

Unbelievably vulgar to mention the King's health in the knowledge that such a statement would become instant global headline news. He lacks boundaries and is a loose cannon. A security threat, ironically.

I believe him when he says he misses England. I am sure he does. Had he married a well grounded sensible countrywoman he could be living a lovely life with his family on a small country estate now with people who would keep him stable, and his old friends from school and the army.

Instead he is trapped for life in bland, plastic California, with a partner who only exacerbates his faults.

A month ago all he could manage about the uk was a few ers and eventually the countryside.

@Vespanest different audience I guess.

Profhilodisaster · 03/05/2025 14:44

He really does need to let it go now . I was on a crusade to 'win' against my ex, it took a massive toll on my mental health .Once I took a breath , had a good talking to by a very sensible friend and asked myself what was I actually achieving, I let it all go, my life and mental health improved almost immediately.

The 'sensible friend' is precisely what Harry is lacking in his new life.

Although I'm not sure he'd even listen to them now.

Nothing would surprise me MrsLF, but it does look unlikely now

Apart from anything else I wouldn't have expected him to do the BBC interview and the statement if this still had legs, and while I wouldn't expect Harry to understand this, suggesting the courts have been part of a stitch up is hardly guaranteed to get what you want

Sorry if this has been covered, but how do H&M justify their criticism of Thomas Markle for selling stories when it’s literally all these two do these days?

Plus, if H&M can forgive the royal family, why can’t they forgive Thomas as well?

CatsWhiskerz · 03/05/2025 14:53

Harry lost all of his sensible friends when they told him Megain was a wrong'un / slow down because he chose her .... he lost his family because he chose her, and chose to follow her like a cult lamb. He's lost everything he had, by his own dickishness and he's blaming the world ...

Hypocrisy pure and simple.

He can’t appeal. He hasn’t been given leave to appeal. That’s why he’s writing to Yvette Cooper, appealing to Starmer and did the interview with the BBC’s uber-sycophantic “journalist”: his only recourse is a personal appeal, tugging on the public’s heartstrings, and bespoke intervention from one important sympathetic person (this is what his lawyers will have told him is his only remaining option). These have previously worked for him and his wife to get their way. It’s deeply cynical. He doesn’t have a sympathetic bone in his body for his family members or the British people. He just wants what he wants and is doing everything - making it his life’s work - to get it.

Profhilodisaster · 03/05/2025 15:01

I would love to know what exactly was said to him at the Sandringham Summit.

Give him time!!!
does not look like he can keep anything secret for long!!!

I think it's been said it would have been open to him to apply direct to the Supreme Court for an appeal, HiRen, but it's true that seems unlikely now - and anyway I believe the SC only address actual points of law rather than more whinging

Edited to add I get the idea of the value to him of an "important, sympathetic person", but who among the truly important will touch him now?
At that level most of them are "establishment", and since it's this that he's attacking they'll simply circle the wagons

IcedPurple · 03/05/2025 15:13

If I'm not mistaken, the Supreme Court only hears cases which are deemed to be of national importance.

Despite Harry's delusions, the security arrangements of the exiled 5th in line do not fall into that category.

Profhilodisaster · 03/05/2025 15:14

I don't think he will appeal either, this interview seemed to be a full stop with regard to this particular case.
I do however, see him sitting at the kitchen table with his crayons , writing to the Home Secretary, asking Meghan how to spell injustice, conspiracy and favouritism.

Beesandhoney123 · 03/05/2025 15:23

How embarrassing for his dc when the get older and see the utter mess for themselves. Wondering why they were isolated from a royal upbringing for their own good, yet their dad speaks of nothing else and is bitter and resentful he can't turn back time.

H should have stayed in the army. Take away the royalty and Meg - wannabe actress - married an unemployed squaddie who lived off his nan, but future faked. They both did, to some extent.

Fast forward and Meg is putting on a brave face and doing influencer stuff, and at least lives in her homeland, and harry is still finding himself and has the time and money to concentrate on a court case in another country.

He is so angry and so boringly self absorbed.
