Harry's new interview 2

Viviennemary · 03/05/2025 13:19

I just thought I would start second thread since I noticed the first one is full. It has certainly dominated media reporting. I saw a snippet on Sky news earlier. A document from Harry saying its a dereliction of duty to stop his security. Erm who just whizzed off to the USA and left all the duties behind. I havent watched the whole interview. I wonder if he'll appeal again.

Meghan's story about their new 'honeymoon period' seems at odds with Harry's obvious bitterness and discontent

I think and this is obviously just my opinion, that Meghan is in a world of her own , she is taking no interest in the court case because it doesn't affect her, she has no intention of setting foot in the UK and her peddling the honeymoon rubbish is all part of her fantasy of living the perfect life with a thriving business.

She never intended to come back to the UK to visit and if Harry believed she would he is a bigger dumbass than I thought.

I think Harry has probably made things more unsafe for the rest of the RF, the ones who don’t have full time security, there is so much discussion about those who don’t have the kind of security Harry has, it must make them all a bit more vulnerable.

Jeees z I hadn't thought of this either!

Wish he would just shut the fuck up!

I wonder if Meghan isn’t rubbing her hands together in glee because effectively she’s tied Harry to California- he’s said he won’t take his children to UK as it isn’t safe, she certainly won’t come with them because he’s said her life is in danger and ergo he’s stuck.
He can’t come alone unless he gives RAVEC 28 days notice (perfectly reasonable to everyone apart from Harry, of course)
I think he’s shot himself in the foot being such a twerp 🤷🏼‍♀️

He has certainly lost the custody battle, right there.

@Mayhemabounds i know !!! God he takes himself so serious I mean everyone loved him seeing him walk behind the cortège of his mum at 11 serving properly in the forces not like Andrew just bloody heartbreaking we all wanted the best for him he was so adored now he’s such a bloody wet wipe. He has been totally pussy whipped by Meagain he’s nobody

Andrew saw combat in The Falklands war as a helicopter pilot, he was quite competent and well liked ( source: serving officer in Falklands). Harry was not allowed to ‘serve’ on the frontline as his presence was deemed to be a terrorism magnet.

Been wondering if before Spare was published anyone said to Harry 'this will burn down your family relationships forever'. He really doesn't seem to understand that the hurt and betrayal he caused cannot be wished away for his convenience.

But, £20 million...

Been wondering if before Spare was published anyone said to Harry 'this will burn down your family relationships forever'. He really doesn't seem to understand that the hurt and betrayal he caused cannot be wished away for his convenience.

Who would have done that though?

He was then already in the US and had cut his ties with anyone likely to point out (the bleeding) obvious.

The publishers wanted the money from the book. His wife likely wanted the money and had little regard for his family.

As to whether he thought this would be a consequence, well I don’t believe he would have thought so.

At every point, his kick back has been “they made me do it” - be it his family, the grey suits, the press
etc.

The fact he’s talking now about forgiveness, still plays to his track record. He has nothing to forgive, because he was forced to do these things.

He can’t see that all of this stemmed from his and M’s response to being told you can’t be half in, half out - a massive flounce without any due diligence into issues such as security.

Remember it was ONLY after this that he started having a go at his family.

I believe he genuinely thinks he is the aggrieved party here and that he expected his family members would not just forgive what he “had to do”, but apologise for “making him do it”.

I simply don’t think he’s intellectually or emotionally capable of a level of reflection that would prompt any other/more nuanced level of his own culpability because then he’d have admit to himself what a clusterfuck he’s got himself (and his wife and children) into.

As pp’s have said, I just can’t see how they can possibly maintain the lifestyle they aspire to in the long term unless there’s a radical up shift in M’s financial endeavours.

At present, that’s not looking like a good bet, but to be fair she’s throwing a lot of mud at the wall, so something might just stick (though it’s unlikely to be the runny jam).

I feel a tiny soupçon of pity for him as he is so obviously damaged and is systematically sabotaging any hope of reconciliation.

The other 99% of me sees a real hypocrite who has betrayed his family and cannot see the contradiction in his own arguments and for whom the fault always lies elsewhere.

Unbelievably vulgar to mention the King's health in the knowledge that such a statement would become instant global headline news. He lacks boundaries and is a loose cannon. A security threat, ironically.

I believe him when he says he misses England. I am sure he does. Had he married a well grounded sensible countrywoman he could be living a lovely life with his family on a small country estate now with people who would keep him stable, and his old friends from school and the army.

Instead he is trapped for life in bland, plastic California, with a partner who only exacerbates his faults.

Totally agree, he has lost so much by marrying her and leaving for the US. I think she conned him and he was naive & damaged, however he hasn’t himself any favours with this latest interview

Sometimes I think he is too thick to understand but then to see him smirking and still attacking his family I think he really is a nasty piece of work, probably always has been.
I doubt he cares about the hurt and embarrassment he has caused, spiteful little shit.

Thedom · 04/05/2025 05:48

The BBC have now admitted it was a biased and poor interview and ‘a lapse in their editorial standards’

which is what most posters said right from the outset.

Agreed. In the US interview someone up thread posted he seemed very happy to be in Santa Barbara and when asked said he missed British “er” “countryside” and “bits and pieces”. He’s just milking the extended family as ever. Couldn’t feel
less sorry for him.

Where is that? All I could see this morning was an article by the journalist talking about her feelings having interviewed Harry about his feelings 🙄

It was buried in the headline Dailymail article, will see if I can find it.

Thedom · 04/05/2025 06:33

Oh I misread, sorry, it was the radio coverage of the interview, not the interview itself. Anyway, none of those points were covered in the interview either.

Meanwhile the BBC, which spoke to Harry near his home in California, admitted a 'lapse' in editorial standards over its coverage of the interview on Radio 4 Today programme.

It said: 'Claims were repeated that the process had been 'an Establishment stitch-up' and we failed to properly challenge this and other allegations.
This case is ultimately the responsibility of the Home Office and we should have reflected their statement.

Obeseandashamed · 04/05/2025 06:35

Ok, I’m fully prepared to be shot at here but isn’t his issue with the security system offered the fact that he will have to share his exactly plans, route, whereabouts etc and will have limited security compared to if he has personal security as others do. He is also concerned about leaks and sabotage etc particularly given the cloudy circumstances of his mothers death?

MM will be writing the divorce papers right now and saying he’s mad, he is, totally mad, and a self confessed druggie so can I have full custody of the kids your honour and lots of alimony your honour all I want to do is live a wholesome life look I wear pretty dresses on Netflix and listen to jazz.

And don’t forget I’m REALLY skinny and I have rich and famous friends who I definitely didn’t buy, I don’t have any friends from before I met H because they all just wanted to be friends with me for my fame and fortune but I’m so authentic and down to earth that I can only be friends with people who are multi millionaire slebs, oh and they can’t be white either because racism

SilverGlitterBaubles · 04/05/2025 06:48

Harry’s complete lack of self awareness is just astonishing. I suspect living in the navel gazing world of LaLa land surrounded by similar self absorbed privileged individuals hasn’t helped his perspective. He really needs some good advice, someone to say listen you made a decision to leave, you can’t expect to continue with the same level of benefits at taxpayers expense, especially when you continue to publicly complain and criticise the monarchy (your family) for your financial gain. He comes across as bitter and entitled, living in a huge mansion and flying in private jets while his wife flaunts her jam and perfect life online while he moans about how hard he has it. Just stop it’s so cringe.

“Pussy whipped”
What a stupid and misogynistic term.
I won’t bother correcting you about repulsive Andrews’s war service as others have already done so.

Parsley1234 · 04/05/2025 06:55

@Somethingthecatdraggedin7 its true re him being pussy whipped he is
accept I’m wrong re Andrew’s service he’s still a duck though and was never as popular as Harry

Sandylittleknees · 04/05/2025 07:09

Watching this interview I’m starting to wonder if he isn’t just spoilt, lacking sound advice, self-entitled and over-therapists, but he may actually have some kind of SEND. I don’t mean that lightly in a throw-around ‘isn’t he an idiot’ way but in a concerned does he actually have the intellectual ability to fully understand the situation he is in. Combined with his clear rejection of advice that is a very sad place to be and must be desperately worrying for his family - as well as deeply frustrating. He seemed very homesick and unhappy. Megan is clearly also misguided and has some kind of superiority issues but she doesn’t come across as lacking intelligence - she may be finding it quite hard living with an unhappy man below her own intelligence level (especially as he doesn’t have the money and status that she had assumed).

A big part of the problem, IMO, is that Megan didn’t fully understand that Harry’s status would naturally decrease over time as the ‘spare’ when William became the heir and even more when his kids reach adulthood. She though she had equal status to Kate.

Sandylittleknees · 04/05/2025 07:10

Andrew, what a duck 🤣

coolmum123 · 04/05/2025 07:12

Not sure if this has been mentioned in part one of the thread, but before Harry started talking about his downgraded security arrangements did the media /public know about this? Or did it only come to light because he put it out there?
if it’s the latter than wasn’t it Harry who made himself and his family more unsafe?

But the RF has to share their plans with the security people so that routes etc can be planned.
Why would that be a problem for Harry ?

ouch!

Bontonbonbon · 04/05/2025 07:17

It’s a problem for Harry because he has been persuaded by someone (again, I have my suspicions) that his mother’s death was arranged by the men in grey suits. He is so paranoid that he won’t take sense.

He needs to stop going on TV and settle down to raise his kids. This is what he said he wanted to do but he doesn’t appear to send much time with them- apart from helping Meghan film them for Instagram.

I like Harry. No idea why as ive never met him, but I do.

But my goodness he's like a bloody bull in a china shop. Who advises him? I'm guessing no one or Meghan? Jeez 🙄🤣
