Best advice for Harry going forward?

I have all the same initial reactions as many others on MN regarding Harry i.e. whiner, grifter, stupid, entitled etc and it's easy to dole out the criticism.

However while I wouldn't say I have sympathy for him, as so much of his situation is of his own making, I actually do have some underlying feelings of concern for him and his future (and children).

He reminds me an awful lot of a relative of mine who is neurodiverse with a mild learning disability and a tendency to be self-absorbed with an overdeveloped victim complex - always lashing out, blaming others, seeing conspiracy where there is none etc.

Harry is clearly a damaged man, with childhood trauma and issues which continue to plague his mental health.
As with my relative, he has grown up with a support network which has probably quietly managed and enabled his passage through life, but when big outbursts happen (as have happened in our family too) everyone backs off and 'grey rocks' him until he has calmed down. Some people just give up, too exhausted by the constant drama of it all.

Harry doesn't look like himself in that photo, the smile looks so strange. Maybe its the massive hat, which does not suit him at all.

RandyRedHumpback · 11/05/2025 10:00

Have you seen the picture of the inside of the hat? Talk about try hard.

Not2identifying · 11/05/2025 10:01

I think the reason he doesn't look like himself is because he's forcing himself to smile. I wouldn't be surprised if he has clinical depression. I'm not saying that to be mean; I think this whole thread is about the choices Harry could make to be a happier person.

Not2identifying · 11/05/2025 10:02

The hat must be a present from Meghan.

It's a clap back for sure. I think one of the things from her Jamie KL interview that was somewhat derided was her claim that Harry calls her "my love". so now it's printed on the inside of his hat to make it official. Along with the kids' names, the outline of the continent of Africa and, iirc, the British flag. I am going to assume she had all that printed on a brand new hat in the last week or so.

MayaKovskaya · 11/05/2025 10:54

Nothing is private to them, is it? Nothing. Even little love notes inside a hat. Everything is just something to promote them, something to sell.

You're right and I think that makes Harry really uncomfortable. As much as he is reaping what he sowed, I'll admit to feeling sorry for him sometimes.

Totally. You don’t see Will and Kate doing stuff like that.

I've posted this before, @Not2identifying, but always cover the rest of the face and look at the eyes

They don't lie, and I find looking at Harry's disturbing

I wrote a comment to the Mail last week. I said if it weren't for their daily briefings, the pair would have been forgotten about years ago. The Daily Mail funds their lifestyle.
They didn't publish my comment. Surprise!

That’s not how commenting on the Mail works 🥺. You sign up, choose a user name and then post your comment. If it is libellous, obscene or offensive ( ie racist) it will be removed.

so…..

Meghan embroiders Hermes blankets as gifts for visiting friends…it’s this trad wife stuff that keeps her so busy IMO.

Thedom · 11/05/2025 11:03

Its more like a grimace than a smile,

There is another absolutely awful photo of him with the hat and bits of his hair fluff flat on his forehead like a terrible fringe, Meghan looks absolutely stunning in that particular photo.

Is this him though? He feels like a lamb to slaughter of the merching?

My Gran always said never trust a man with small eyes. Which interestingly often seems to be true…but then I think people can’t help what sort of eyes they’re born with! 🤷‍♀️

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 11/05/2025 11:13

Kate had to endure this, ‘doors to manual’.

That was Camilla, when asked to ‘help’ Carole Middleton in her first connections with RF. Luckily Carole has proved that she really didn’t need Camilla’s help.

Thedom · 11/05/2025 11:14

She is marching her family to the extreme of what merching a family is. The hat looks ridiculous on Harry, he doesn't wear it well at all, i guess it was more important the message on the interior of the hat was delivered to the public.

Post-interview, Harry has decided he needs to shore up Meghan's 'we're on our second honeymoon' narrative. I'm guessing she's not happy that he's looked so miserable lately. Oh, and check out the hat!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14698177/Meghan-Markle-dances-night-away.html

They must have attended with their own film crew to achieve this quality and quantity of footage - its trying very very hard for the 'honeymoon' narrative. Why is that?

Porttalbot · 11/05/2025 11:16

The hat is preposterous - the scale of it ..... cant believe she let him out dressed like that - he looks like some red-neck from the 1930's.

To be fair, it's part of the costume for attendees to Beyonce's Cowboy Carter tour - country themed music.

RandyRedHumpback · 11/05/2025 11:22

But yes, he does look like he's been out on the prairie, herding buffalo and not washing for a good week.

RandyRedHumpback · 11/05/2025 11:23

Whereas I agree with pp that she looks gorgeous in those photos.

Edited

She looks so beautiful here & him, kindly, the opposite of a ‘fox’ …

I wanted to give M the full benefit of the doubt but he looks totally in her thrall, she didn’t say she loved him re: the honeymoon period. What is her game plan? I fear she has one & he has a clear role to fulfil or else.

It's a very high level of publicity and self promotion, isn't it?
Even for them!

RandyRedHumpback · 11/05/2025 11:29

"Foxy" Harry looks like he bumped into Jolyon Maugham whilst wandering around the Inns of Court....

I think she wants to be Jackie O, the Carolyn BK & Kennedy that sadly never were. H needs to be sent down metaphorical pit to tap up every resource he has to facilitate, she’s playing her part.
