The royal family

Why is Sarah Ferguson at the Easter service?

I am really perplexed about why SF attends all Royal events since the death of the Queen when Andrew
is present. She behaves like his wife but she isn’t his wife. What on earth is going on? I cannot think of another situation like this where an ex wife lives with her ex husband and attends all public events with him as though they are still married. It’s bizarre.

No, he didn't. Henry VIII was not a supporter of the protestant church.

He established what became a Protestant church!

sofasoda · 21/04/2025 15:24

Social media doesn’t work like that. If someone posts that they’ve seen them, neither the media nor William can stop it from spreading.

I didn't say anything about social media, I was talking about the press & the articles linked upthread were press not social media. Why have the skiing photos not being posted in the UK press?

The infamous secret handshake the royals have with the press

sofasoda · 21/04/2025 15:25

That apparently doesn't exist 😆

Because they were on holiday. So the press don’t usually intrude on that. But they were on a public place in the UK when at Church so the press probably decided that was fair game 🤷‍♀️

I think it’s an excellent precedent to quote today.

The Pope showed up when he was literally on death’s door. Can’t imagine William doing that.

So did the late Queen...

I can't stand Andrew and I don't have a lot of time for 'Fergie'. But I think a lot of the outrage about him (and Harry/Meghan come to that) is to distract from the fact that the heir to the throne is a lazy waste of space.

That's too far!!

sofasoda · 21/04/2025 15:29

I don't understand what you are saying @smilesy. The UK press hasn't printed the church photos of them yesterday?

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 21/04/2025 15:30

Extiainoiapeial · 21/04/2025 10:30

They do it all the time.

And you complain when he does!! Can't win!

You said that Henry VIII established himself as the head of the protestant church which shows a complete lack of understanding of history. What did Catherine Parr get herself into trouble with Henry about?

JADS · 21/04/2025 15:30

I do wonder how old those are that constantly go on about William and Catherine being lazy. Whether those posters like it or not, they are the most popular royals. The younger generations are interested in work life balance and don't seem so concerned about ribbon cutting. They also appreciate that work can be done from home and that Zoom still exists post Covid.

I also think that the Middletons deserve some time with their grandchildren given the RF in laws always get dibs on Christmas. And they did attend church locally on Sunday maybe to avoid odious Andrew and SF.

I really am not going to explain that. Everybody knows why.

The photos of them on holiday with baby Charlotte in Courchevel were in the press.

Because it’s a private holiday. Just like them attending church was private. Hence why no photos of them at church on Sunday have been released.

The younger generations aren't interested in the Royal's or having a Royal family?

I'm a similar age to Kate with similar age dc but don't relate to them at all & think they are pretty pointless because I don't see them having much impact.

Exactly. According to every poll they are most popular royals.

Catherine's parents are also around 70 and 75 years old. Why shouldn't they spent it with her side of the family.

IMO
They just want something complain about.

Anyone in the workplace doing it would be given their own space and time to do it, as is in most companies there is a prayer room ..well ones I've worked in have. So not sure what company you work for but what a shame they aren't inclusive. And people aren't made to participate.

Edited

@Serenster said she used to ‘gather the cast and crew of suits together for a prayer circle’.

Not go into a prayer room for her own reflection and prayer

Hence I’m guessing @TheHerboriste s comments ( which I agreed with ) related to the
‘gathering’ comment.

Right, so all of you who were lining up to have a go at William and Kate - I assume you will be taking your horrible comments back?!

cumbriaisbest · 21/04/2025 15:36

I remember a TV programme about Fergie revamping a youth centre place in Greater Manchester. Its derelict now.
They don't care, none of them.

I must have misunderstood. I thought you were referring to the fact that the story had “leaked” to the press without photos. And that the press had published the story. I wasn’t meaning they had published photos. Sorry I want clear

"In 2024, for example, just 35 percent of 18 to 24-year-old's supported the monarchy, compared with 82 percent of those aged 65 or over. In fact, a plurality of younger British adults thought that the monarchy should be replaced with an elected head of state, with this particular scenario supported by a quarter of Britons overall."

Late to this party but I agree with this^

Yesterday's optics on both fronts are bad IMO.

We have the reviled Charmless and gurning ex grinning and thumbs-upping the crowds and cameras while our lazy heir dons his invisibility cloak yet again and all this double flipping of the royal bird happening on our dime.

We are mugs.

They do it all the time

Just bought a couple of new choppers to do it in too.

Are you content that they apparently attended church local to their home?

Luckily for the royals, William and Catherine are still quite popular with the younger generation (18-24 and 25-49), more so than Charles, Camilla, Harry and Meghan. I think the monarchy will be safe in their hands 🥰

Why is Sarah Ferguson at the Easter service?

Individually.no but our taxes collectively is a huge sum of money that if used in NHS or elsewhere would have a better impact even for smaller things like using millions of pounds to fix our roads or build more homes or give more to councils so people in Birmingham don't have binmen striking.

Yeah sure because obviously all that lovely lolly would go straight to where it is needed most! 🙄
