Oh dear. I really really hope he isn't about to have his Andrew moment. I also hope his lawyers have sat him down and explained what he can and can't say.

Would he listen even if they have. He really needs to learn when to gracefully accept defeat.

StrawberryWasp · 02/05/2025 16:42

This is that delicious combination of causing me to think 'oh my God how much more idiotic can he get ' and 'oh Goody this is endless fun!'

When people say: why do you care, it's because it's like a soap opera in real time they just won't stop.

It's brilliant 🤣

I hope he would. I don't think speaking about security matters that were discussed in camera will endear him to anyone.

Iwanttoliveonamountain · 02/05/2025 16:43

We cannot hope to understand the workings of a mind like his.
A poster above says that he mistakes feelings for facts. Given him an almost Trumpian view of reality

Interviews is about 30 mins long and they are playing it at approx 5 pm according to the news channel

TheAutumnCrow · 02/05/2025 16:47

My belief @IcedPurple is H’s bill will easily be over an actual million quid, and that ‘£1.5 million’ isn’t too far off the mark.

I heard of a bloke who lost a basic judicial review against a council over a planning matter. Refused leave to appeal. His costs: over £200,000 - and this was years ago.

He couldn’t or wouldn’t pay. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest and production in court. He fled town. Last heard of running a bar in Spain.

Lavenderfarmcottage · 02/05/2025 16:47

He’s been threatened by the Taliban since he went to Afghanistan when they singled him out & more or less placed a bounty on him.

Harry’s Mum died being pursued by the press which could have been prevented with security. The press alone are a risk for them.

Harry is the son of on of the most iconic women and son of the King of England, his wife whether you like it or not is hounded by the press & they’ve been relentlessly pursued.

Even if the risks are low the stakes are high - it’s his family.

He wanted to leave the royals but his face has been engrained into the public consciousness since birth. His privacy and any chance of anonymity was never his to have.

We walk into a life of debt hanging over our heads but so has he… he’s trapped trying to find ways to afford his own protection and build some sort of brand or image that funds it & a lifestyle that is somewhat sheltered - privacy is expensive .

Even if he manages to wiggle out of some of it, this 'case' is going to cost him well into the hundreds of grand.

That's one expensive failed ego trip.

It is if he pays it, but doubtless he'll now feel his legal team have failed him too, and while we'll never know I'd be amazed if those costs come out of his own pocket

Luckily there's always dad, to whom it would be mere pocket change. After all if the Queen paid up to cover Andrew's stupidities ...

IdaGlossop · 02/05/2025 16:48

I think the 'shocking things' are the Royal household rep on RAVEC in 2020, whose name I cannot recall, is minuted as agreeing with the committee majority view that a bespoke arrangement, with H giving 28 days notice, was appropriate. H in his usual toddler mode will have heard this as 'MY FATHER WANTS ME AND MY FAMILY DEAD!!!'. He just hadn't got the brainpower to see that his father, as a constitutional monarch, cannot dictate what happens, because the UK is not a dictatorship. 'I am the king. Give my darling boy 24-hour armed protection in perpetua!'

Diana refused security .
Harry didn’t want to leave , he wanted half in half out.

RAVEC will have taken all that into account, plus the current information available. His security is based on that assessment. This isn't about removing his security, it's about the fact he doesn't think he has enough security, based on how he feels.

No they haven't. Certainly not in Britain, where the press do not 'pursue' royals 'off duty'. In California they are two among many 'celebrities'.

Also, are you aware that Harry has a special arrangement with RAVEC whereby his security needs are kept under constant review and any security needed will be provided as deemed necessary? Can you explain what is inadequate about those arrangements? Do you believe you know more about such matters than those with access to the latest intelligence assessments?

I'm not sure I can bear to listen to it all but I'll try.

Harry is just a huge attention seeker who is so very jealous of his brother William. What ever William has he wants. He seems to have spent most of his life being consumed and twisted with jealousy. He obviously tried to play up his risk to get all of his protection paid for in both the UK and US. I hope he has been made to pay RAVEK costs rather than force the tax payer to fund him. He really is like a sulky 12 year old having another tantrum.

Plus, there is an assessment each time he wants to come to the UK. That will reflect any increasing level of threat. The risk assessment isn't static.

12 is generous. Remove the first digit and you have it.

Yes that too. Part of the reason I'm going to listen to his interview is to try and work out exactly what his issue is with the current arrangement. I hope the interviewer is good.

Do you honestly think the numerous professionals involved in RAVEC would be unaware of any of the issues you just mentioned?

Anyway, you missed out, "the individual concerned is a sulky twat who could start a fight in an empty room and is intent on nosediving his own reputation".
