I think it would have been a good idea for William to attend- both as next head of the Church of England and heir to the throne.

I’m still wondering what the Russell brand tweet was about?
it had nothing to do with reform .

It was a tangential reference to the message of Easter Sunday, viewed through the warped lens of a shotgun—most probably fake—conversion to Christianity by a British man wanted for sexual crimes in the UK. Even I have forgotten the relevance now !

jeffgoldblum · 20/04/2025 14:04

That excuse is as nonsensical as the post , Russell brand is a disgusting rapist and was referring to his penis rising , it does not belong on a royal family forum as it has no relevance whatsoever.

You may not be aware. He was referring to Jesus.

"What God desires is your mind and your heart and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man - or not".

I think some tangential wanderings of the mind are probably best left there! 😁

jeffgoldblum · 20/04/2025 14:26

Russell brand apart from being a rapist , has been … an atheist… a Buddhist ( who got a formal pat on the back from the Dali lama) and catholic , his convenient baptism stunt at this particular time is not unnoticed by many .
how this correlates to the royal family at Easter is a mystery!
Im assuming you are trying to tie it into Andrew … however the similarity is moot at best and for all Andrews actions he has always been a Christian , he hasn’t just converted to wipe his sins clean !
and I’m unclear why you would want to see or search out tweets from this abhorrent individual.

I agree.

Even if he went on his own.

Just my opinion

Charles and Camilla went to Scotland for Easter for the last 20 years before the Queen died though, so the heir not being at the Easter service isn’t something unusual.

No, it's the volume and singular nature of them in The Telegraph as well. I'm also seeing on X that a lot of self-proclaimed white nationalists—emboldened, no doubt, by the Trump win (probably Reform Party supporters and Tommy Robinson followers)—are heavily pushing the "King is a traitor" meme.

As you’ll be aware, Reform is focusing on scrapping net zero policies and promoting "frack away" rhetoric, which breaks the cross-party consensus on climate change—something the King has wisely and rightly supported, and which William continues through his Earthshot initiative.

It’s going to get messy. That constituency, like the Loyalists in Ulster, is temperamentally monarchical in nature.

What have "the Loyalists in Ulster" got to do with any of this shit?

Oh dear have just looked at the 'best rated' comments under the DM article. Trouble at t'mill - that said I need a shower after reading them.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14629233/king-Charles-queen-Camilla-royal-family-Easter-Sunday-service.html

Seeing as only a few days ago you made the over the top suggestion of fatally harming yourself if you believed anything in the DM...

Stripeyanddotty · 20/04/2025 14:54

@wordler
Yes that’s true.
But that was before the very much ‘slimmed down’ monarchy.
Basically it’s all down to William now.

I’m guessing and hoping he didn’t go in protest at the nonce being there.

TulipTiptoer · 20/04/2025 13:37

Haha, how sarcastic!

I am only stating facts. They have just got back from a ski-ing holiday and haven't gone to the Easter Sunday service, and I think that is a mistake as it was said in advance they weren't going so I doubt it's illness.

Just my opinion. We've all got them!

Maybe the skiing trip took a lot out her and she needs to rest?

Samcro · 20/04/2025 15:06

seems i can't ask on mn who was at church and should have googled.....
I thought W&K had already said they were not going, so doubt it was anything to do with PA being there.
PA has every right to go to church(although I would question if he is so keen does he go every week) but the knew they would be photographed and it would be reported on. so why could he not have gone elsewhere.

Glad I’m not the only one confused about the Russell Brand post. I thought maybe I’d missed something somewhere along the line🤷‍♀️.
Maybe Vera can enlighten us both?

I think that's a little unlikely...

I am not sure if this is tongue in cheek or you really mean it.
Maybe the family need a holiday...to get over the holiday 🥴🤭

Edited

There was no "nonce" there. Whatever Andrew has or has not done, it does not make him a "nonce". Horrible term anyway.

TulipTiptoer · 20/04/2025 12:59

Well, you've just said about his errant brother worshipping alongside the King on the most important day of the year (your words). In that case, William should have been there.

No, I never said that. You have the wrong poster.

I think you are overlooking the fact that this woman has recently been ill with cancer? Have you no empathy?!

MadeInGrimsby · 20/04/2025 15:16

We don't know if William went to Church or not. Perhaps they want to worship privately. Perhaps they don't tip anyone off, or put everything on SM.

I am not going to get into a tit for tat on Kate's recovery because whatever I say will undoubtedly be misconstrued and twisted

Charles has recently been in hospital with side effects of his cancer treatment however

Yes, this sort of comment is unnecessary. It was so prevalent last year. Dear lord some of those threads were vile.
