So Andrew and Sarah who was dropping curtseys and grinning a lot, were both trotting along with the Royals into the Easter Sunday church service. Andrew will grab any opportunity won't he...
It was said he wouldn't attend because of the chinese spy furore.. obviously that didn't worry him!

I know posters will say, it's his family, it's a church service etc. But he doesn't have to go to that particular church service and he could join his family later. But they both have brass neck don't they...

Regardless of Andrew's mistakes, his brother is head of a Christian church, and it is surely the Christian thing to do to invite Andrew to worship alongside the King on the most important day of the year? That is true charity, so I don't think it is a cause for criticism. Maybe Andrew got on his knees and prayed for forgiveness?

Thanks ! We should never forget Trump won a second term and whilst we are not and never will be the US there are worrisome trends emerging and my highlighting the Telegraph was to 'telegraph' them so to speak not agree with them. This would never have happened under QE2 but then that was the highpoint of the Monarchy which I would hazard a guess will never be beaten .

I agree, and mindful of Trump's victory, I remember following the polls last July, and at one point Reform were several points ahead of the Conservatives. Worrying times.

If that's the case, it's a shame the heir to the throne couldn't make it then!

Maybe he's at church elsewhere? I don't know, but I just don't like to judge on these matters.

Well, you've just said about his errant brother worshipping alongside the King on the most important day of the year (your words). In that case, William should have been there.

MadeInGrimsby · 20/04/2025 12:51

I wouldn't rush to judgement. There was a lot of nasty "where's Kate" last year. Look what happened.
I'm hoping all is well, it's just that they're in Norfolk.

I agree . I do hope Catherine is well .

They have only just got back from a ski-ing holiday so I imagine she is fine... ski-ing takes some core strength.
No idea why they weren't there, I do think it was a bit of a mis-step on their part.

Oh dear have just looked at the 'best rated' comments under the DM article. Trouble at t'mill - that said I need a shower after reading them.

But I thought nobody should believe anything in the DM ??
Or is that only when they are criticising H and M ?

Aye let's all agree it's a poisoned source and should never be qouted here - I'd buy that !

Not even the article!
we are being directed to read “ the top rated comments”
as if that is proof of anything!

Samcro · 20/04/2025 12:37

who actually was at the church thing?

Have you not got access to Google? Or newspapers?

themightysossidge · 20/04/2025 13:13

TulipTiptoer · 20/04/2025 12:42

Totally agree. Their husbands are gainfully employed, so are they apparently. They have young children, two each, I have no idea why they are at these royal turn outs.

Just incidentally, it's a pet dislike of mine (no one else, no one has to agree, just my opinion!)... I hate those thick headbands all the royal women wear. Sometimes it's just a big headband, sometimes a full circle thing... they hark back to victorian times or before. Beatrice had a ridiculous one on this morning 😂

Not all the Royal women wear them. They feature in every store you go into today. Personally I hate them too and love a hat.

stillclueless · 20/04/2025 13:15

@MadeInGrimsbywe all hope Kate is well but it doesn’t mean that they are above criticism over everything because she has been ill. It’s not a free pass to use that as an excuse everytime they are criticised.

I think that's a bit like celebrating the Victorian Era or the Golden Age of Elizabeth 1 . Things naturally move on and evolve as they should.

A judgement of someone's health based on a snapshot? I'm sure the NHS could do with that kind of knowledge. It would save them a great deal of money.

TulipTiptoer · 20/04/2025 13:37

Haha, how sarcastic!

I am only stating facts. They have just got back from a ski-ing holiday and haven't gone to the Easter Sunday service, and I think that is a mistake as it was said in advance they weren't going so I doubt it's illness.

Just my opinion. We've all got them!

BemusedAmerican · 20/04/2025 13:40

It's early Easter Sunday here in the US, and after reading some of these posters, I am reminded of why I no longer am a member of an organized religion. I'm lapsed RC. The whole point of Easter is the Resurrection. Not a fashion show or to exclude people from worship.

I don't know Prince William, but he seems to be a decent guy. I watched the Sidley Twins a few days ago, and they showed footage of PW meeting with both Israeli and Palestine dignitaries during his visit to Israel a few years ago. They also mentioned his statement after October 7 when he expressed a desire for the situation to be resolved and for peace.

In contrast, the VP of my country, a recent RC convert, just very publicly visited the Vatican for Easter while advocating policies that had millions of Americans protesting around the country on Saturday.

Maybe some posters as well as online commenters on tabloid articles should read some scripture and reflect on the body counts from religious wars over the centuries.

Your post sums it up perfectly. Andrew has every right to be there whether you like him or not.

A very thoughtful post @BemusedAmerican!
I’m not religious either for similar reasons , in my personal opinion more wars have been started and waged by so called religious groups.. who preach peace and harmony but apparently only to those the same as them .

I’m still wondering what the Russell brand tweet was about?
it had nothing to do with reform .

I had cancer ( thankfully ok now) and it is a long recovery period , physically and mentally yet I still managed to do some hill walking , swimming etc .
You really don’t know how Catherine is . You don’t know if she was exhausted afterwards . You don’t know if she is constantly anxious as I am .
Cut her some slack.

Glad I’m not the only one confused about the Russell Brand post. I thought maybe I’d missed something somewhere along the line🤷‍♀️.
Maybe Vera can enlighten us both?
