It's got worse they are upto 47 comments and around 90% of that ilk - if the Monarch has lost the Torygraph then things must be pretty bad. As instant vox pop's go it's as good as any to test the state of the nation and all the more reason for the toxic campign of but "Hey Meghan2 which the Mail tirelessly majors on.

You still seem to think those comments are a good thing? I'm flabbergasted.

MadeInGrimsby · 20/04/2025 11:42

Imagine using that inclusivity as an excuse to attack someone!

themightysossidge · 20/04/2025 11:43

I'm also interested in you attributing these comments to a certain political party.

vera99 · 20/04/2025 11:46

themightysossidge · 20/04/2025 11:36

Or are those comments something you think are worthy of highlight @vera99?

No, it's the volume and singular nature of them in The Telegraph as well. I'm also seeing on X that a lot of self-proclaimed white nationalists—emboldened, no doubt, by the Trump win (probably Reform Party supporters and Tommy Robinson followers)—are heavily pushing the "King is a traitor" meme.

As you’ll be aware, Reform is focusing on scrapping net zero policies and promoting "frack away" rhetoric, which breaks the cross-party consensus on climate change—something the King has wisely and rightly supported, and which William continues through his Earthshot initiative.

It’s going to get messy. That constituency, like the Loyalists in Ulster, is temperamentally monarchical in nature.

CathyorClaire · 19/04/2025 20:57

generally acting like some entitled, arrogant medieval prince?

Both hideous but Willy's the one with the financially obscure feudal inheritance and no stated intention of shedding light on the mechanics.

So here's where I do agree with you CorC - I think W should be moving to more openness in Royal finances . I think eg the ability of the monarch to pass down personal wealth to the next monarch with no IHT needs to have proper scrutiny.

Where I don't agree is that W is anywhere near as hideous as his brother 😂

Where have I said I agree with them - in this respect I find them abhorrent.

MadeInGrimsby · 20/04/2025 11:50

Well, @vera99 if KC is annoying the Islamophobes, the Telegraph readership, Reform, and the Tommy Robinson thugs maybe he's being a decent person.
Or should he kow tow to them? Should he promote division in society and ignore ethics, climate change, multi faith and other issues?

jeffgoldblum · 20/04/2025 11:50

Me too.
Absolutely incredulous. What a stick to beat Charles with. Really.

themightysossidge · 20/04/2025 11:51

@vera99 I don't consider X as a source of real news or opinion either . It is a very narrow representation of those who feel they have important things to say. There are loads of idiots out there who hog X . That to me would be like believing that the aggressive and threatening behaviour yesterday by transurus states what most of the country or even of trans people believe.

Gender:
A majority of Telegraph readers are male (69%) compared to the average of 49% for other newspapers.
Age:
The Telegraph readership skews older, with 38% aged 60 and above, compared to 30% for other titles.
Affluence:
A significant portion of Telegraph readers (22%) have incomes above twice the median, compared to 15% of other newspaper readers.
Political Affiliation:
A substantial percentage of Telegraph readers (49%) identify with the Conservative party.

ARichtGoodDram · 20/04/2025 11:54

I also do not judge her or Charles about the tampon stuff.

What would there be to judge in someone saying their luck is so bad they'd likely be reincarnated as a tampon?

The whole "wanted to be Camilla's tampon" thing that people judge over is an absolute myth and not remotely what he said

themightysossidge · 20/04/2025 11:54

Let's translate - "oh people who are islamaphobes are criticising King Charles.
This sounds a great way to criticise Charles so I will post it but I don't agree with them "🙄

I am wondering wheher the Wales decision not to turn up could be linked to the preesence of Andrew and Sarah. There has been criticism, including here, of William driving him and allowing himself to be photographed with Andrew. Is it possible that thos time he decided to stay away?

i doubt they care to be honest. they as a family seem not to care about the optics. im sure if W&K were going and said no PA, he would have been stopped from going.

This is irrelevant to the conversation and frankly despite the fact many of us disagree, this has at least stayed a respectful discussion ( although we all seem to agree about Andrew ) .

I agree he is a decent person, but as we enter choppy economic times, sadly, the old consensus between the rulers and the ruled is breaking down.Reform who I despise with all my heart is straring to make a worrying breakthrough in the political realm.

The wiser interpretation is the one I focused on—that of Telegraph subscribers, not random people on the internet indulging in a comment pile-on.

I think if you wish to give credence to these awful comments, just consider this; Charles has never shirked from certain beliefs, including inclusivity and green issues. Before green issues were a thing he was roundly lampooned and mocked for his views. Same with the then Prince's Trust and the amazing work done there.
He would diminish enormously in my opinion if he heeded those posts you have selected, and modified his behaviour accordingly.
I cannot believe that you would support any of these comments, but surely you don't think that Charles should actually change his behaviour beliefs for the sake of a bigoted, vociferous minority?
Really?

themightysossidge · 20/04/2025 12:01

@vera99 I would hazard a guess that Baz of Bracknell would be more likely to be islamaphobic. Yes there are newspaper trends but my eyes have been opened to the lengths supporters of certain people or causes will go to get their voice heard. That's one thing I have found out about via MN. The press is usually regarded here as " a snapshot in time " or " paid off" or " going for Clickbait" and not to be relied on yet here it is - a page of Islamophobia being attributed to a certain group of people.

So Andrew and Sarah who was dropping curtseys and grinning a lot, were both trotting along with the Royals into the Easter Sunday church service. Andrew will grab any opportunity won't he...
It was said he wouldn't attend because of the chinese spy furore.. obviously that didn't worry him!

I know posters will say, it's his family, it's a church service etc. But he doesn't have to go to that particular church service and he could join his family later. But they both have brass neck don't they...

Another clear message to the peasants then 😡

As I said above they all take us for mugs 😡
