Watching the news about the horrendous rubbish problem in Birmingham, this was followed by Kates film clip rambling about Windermere saying we need to connect with nature and couldn’t help thinking it was inappropriate.I bet cancer sufferers in Birmingham would love to do this instead of holding down a job worrying about col doing chores that I bet she never does and have stinking rubbish with rats in the streets. I have no problem with her video but thought the timing was so off. They sometimes need to read the room.

Um, yes I can, since most of the public wouldn't know or care either way unless the tabloids and weird obsessives like you were making a fuss about it. Windsor Easter service is a private family event NOT a state event. The expectation is the tabloid journalists' expectation of some clicks on the royal fashion parade, who spoke to whom, who marched in front of whom, who looked peeved, who looked happy, who looked cute, blah fucking blah. Not a hint of Jesus dying to save us all, there is a green hill, or anything else pertaining to the Christian church, worship, doctrine or tradition, let alone affairs of the state.

The public do care. Maybe not as much as other issues. But they will have an opinion.

I expressed an opinion. Why do you care what my opinion is?

You don’t agree. Fine.

Im not targeting you because you don’t think William should have to attend.
I’ve not attached labels to you. I’m not putting weird passive aggressive emojis in my posts.

Why do you care what my opinion of you is? It’s just a friendly debate. Nothing passive aggressive here, putting emojis to show lightheartedness and no offence 😊

We will see in the next YouGov poll I suppose. Let’s see how much this affects Catherine and William’s popularity.

Because I live in a country where our head of state is the Monarch. I take interest as a Briton and as a taxpayer.

William has a job to do. He will be our King, probably in the not too distant future.

If he chooses not to carry out certain events, then the public are going to have something to say.

But it isn’t anybody in the RF’s duty or job to go to a family Easter Service. He is not neglecting his duty in any way. even if he is going to be head of the Cof E, he is not obliged to go to this service. I’m not sure why you think he is 🤷‍♀️. The king, who is the actual head of the CofE, is presumably ok with it too. And you didn’t say if you think it will be ok if he goes to Church in Norfolk?

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 17/04/2025 21:33

The numbers don’t lie, let’s see what the next Yougov poll looks like…

You also said that William hadn’t been tecorded as going to a church last year but you ignored my post where I disproved that. I will share the photo again. Just in case you missed it.

Well you care (for reasons I cannot fathom) and a few frothers on the DM care. And Vera. I hope you will all be very happy together when God Strikes Down William for spending Easter with his kids eating Smarties Easter eggs and thanking God they got through the year.

But she won’t care. As she has proclaimed (multiple times) that she isn’t a devout Protestant nor a Royalist. Makes me wonder why she cares? 😆

AtIusvue · 17/04/2025 21:39

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 17/04/2025 21:28

I mean I said “but you’re not a devout Protestant?”

Are you having difficulty reading and understand my posts? It seems like you do?

There absolutely no need for this. At all.

I recognise that you’ve started many interesting threads on the RF section and made many interesting posts. I hope you would recognise that although my posts may have not been interesting, I have contributed to the RF threads positively.

However, to jump all over my posts. Labelling me. Calling me out for not understanding, there was no need for this. All because I said, William should be doing his job and attending the Easter service? No willing on your side to act in good faith and understand, that I have a different point of view.

I’m now a devout Protestant royalist, who’s obsessed and doesn’t understand your posts?

Theres nothing I can say, that will convince you otherwise about William and the Easter service. There nothing you could say that would make me think otherwise too.

However, out of respect. I hope we can leave this here.

I don't care why she cares I just care that care is taken when talking about bins, scouts and Villa.

That’s not last years Easter service.

But as has been said , Catherine was undergoing chemotherapy at the time so he was needed elsewhere .
He may go to a service in Sandringham .

I never said you don’t understand my post. I also questioned why you were so obsessed (yes obsessed) about William not attending a public Easter services if you are NOT a devout or Protestant or Royalist.

Again, I will quote Elizabeth I "I have no desire to make windows into men's souls” you are the one who is determined to make this so by demanding your pound of flesh for someone who isn’t yet the Head of the Church of England.

netflixskivving · 17/04/2025 21:45

The DM readers aren't happy, you do have to be seen and visible to keep the plebs on side tbf.

His wife had cancer. Are you really that unfeeling?

RandyRedHumpback · 17/04/2025 21:45

AtIusvue · 17/04/2025 21:42

That’s not last years Easter service.

As as been said above, his wife just embarked on chemotherapy and his kids were only just told she had cancer. They had just gone through months of hell with William being accused of, amongst other things, beating, killing, cheating on and divorcing his wife. Accused all over the international press, and turned into a late night host's punch line. Did you think he should have been swanning around a performative service in Windsor for a photo op, or being present for his wife and children? If you think he should have been in Windsor, more shame on you.

Yes. I understand.

But posters stating that he could be attending another church service for Easter, I’m saying there’s currently no evidence for that.

But what his personal relationship with the church is, I don’t care. It’s his public duty I care about. So he should be at Windsor for Easter.

I would rather have a King who loved and put his family first than one who publicly worshipped a God that a majority of the country do not believe in. Just my opinion.

FFS, going to a PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE at Windsor at Easter is not part of his public duties! It has become a public spectacle because of tabloid interest in fashion and gossip and nothing more.

AtIusvue · 17/04/2025 21:49

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 17/04/2025 21:48

Well it’s unfortunate that from the many, many posts that I’ve made on the RF thread, that’s your opinion of me.

netflixskivving · 17/04/2025 21:49

@PrettyFlyforaMaiTai but that's how it works though! Harry was correct, it's a gilded cage. Many people who are invested in the Royals & the soap opera do think they own them in some part. Hence so much ridiculous outrage over the H&M situation, they took it as personal rejection.
