Harry RAVEC decision appeal

I thought I would start a separate thread to discuss the court case which started today. I for one am still baffled as to why Harry thinks that his treatment has been unreasonable, given that he no longer lives in the UK, but is still given security on a case by case basis when he visits. This seems perfectly reasonable to me 🤷‍♀️

Can we not have this type of speculation? Meghan had Archie, you cannot mistake that pregnancy look or the complete in love look you have for your new born child.

I don't even think it's that tbh.

He wants the outriders, the motorcade,the flashing lights-just like william gets.

He can not just go quietly into the private life he claimed to want.
There has never been one picture of them doing the school run with their children. Not one. Surely he can just pipe down and live a happy rich life in Cali?

But he is so so bitter about slights-perceived and otherwise about what William gets. It is eating him up and he just can not seem to stop himself.

Even though this is what he claims to have wanted he is not satisfied.

Because he's not the Heir to the throne. He's 5th in line, he has an increasingly limited constitutional role. His risk is lower than William's and as each year goes by will become further reduced.

And his family is and will be safe whenever they visit the UK, because the Security Services assess the risk and provide any and all security that is necessary.

I see Harry had a court moment where he threw his pen down on the table. Isn't that a major crime according to the Sussex fans about Charles? #pengate ? What with that and being scared of his squaddie Peace 🤷‍♀️ it's funny how she is often sitting behind him at events but suddenly she has to be removed from court. Oh has he suddenly realised how bad it looks to have fervent fans supporting him? Note to Peace - they don't care about your support. He has just shown that. Your usefulness is limited. He has just dropped you!

That whole moon bump thing is bizarre! I completely agree that her bump moved, shrank and grew in the same day, dropped, looked too high etc and that picture of it waggling from side to side like a dogs tail when she was walking is incredible - she did seem to have that pregnancy weight gain though - weird about the secrecy around the birth and all the stupid lies they tell anyway, it wouldn't come as a surprise if it was a faked pregnancy and they had a surrogate(s) ... but hey ho - that's them all over

No wonder Harry feels he needs to do everything he can to keep his wife and family safe when this level of gossip is allowed to stand, and the RF threads as usual are full of endlessly negative comments picking apart everything he does.

I would direct the judge making the Ravec appeal decision to simply count up the number of threads and really unpleasant comments about Harry and Meghan on Mumsnet, which is usually a reasonably respectable discussion forum after all, compared to some really loathsome ones out there, and he might gain a more thorough understanding of what H & M are up against!

Also, I love the way so many posters on these threads insist that Harry doesn’t need special security measures while simultaneously contributing to the on-line hate against him, without seeing any contradiction in their actions!

Harry is allowed to do charity work if he wants to and he probably felt safer in Ukraine in a quasi-military setting with ex military personnel around him, than he does in London. And given Trump’s recent public treatment of Zelensky, I thought the timing of the trip was spot on. Harry went unannounced and I can’t see anything wrong at all with him going to lend support to, and highlight the needs of, these traumatised, injured men.

I find comments about Meghan’s pregnancy bump really nasty and low and if they were made about a female member of the RF there would be an uproar on here.

The fact that such ridiculously wild speculation is out there, adds to Harry’s case imho. That’s my point and I stand by it.

Yes, why spend decades building up a career in the courts when you can just count comments on a parenting forum?

If Harry is going to dabble in highly sensitive international politics, he needs to drop the use of British royal titles.

Its to keep away the paparazzi. We know that Williams and Charles camp will brief the media about harry etc. so what harry really wants to do is be able to come at short notice and have the protection whilst the Paparazzi and rightwing billionaire owned rags won’t have access to him to sell their material or generate online ad revenue. He wants to make himself a commodity and he wants to restrict access.

The pregnancy speculation is unpleasant and completely untrue. If Meghan was not pregnant the children would not be in the line of succession. If you believe that Meghan and Harry could have pulled off a surrogate pregnancy without anyone in the Royal family knowing, I have a bridge to sell you.

They barely exist these days. Harry has been in Britain several times since his RAVEC status changed, and I don't remember him having to fight off the 'paparazzi'. Besides, any competent bodyguard can manage that. You don't need armed police with access to intelligence to tell a photographer to back off.

I agree Floppyelf although I think he already is a commodity in the eyes of the press.

I think one of the issues is that if he has to give advance notice of his visits, word gets out, and he cannot be as safe and incognito.

Two posters have already told the tin hat wearing bump conspiracy theorist where the exit to this thread is. There will always be the odd loony theory but the vast majority of posters recognise these as such and condemn them. So I don’t think Harry is in much actual danger from Mumsnetters.

As for going to Ukraine, he may not be doing any harm, but can’t you see it’s a
bit rich to claim he is in danger in the UK (where he does receive security when he visits) and not seem to think that there might be be just a smidgen of jeopardy in an actual war zone with Russian drones and missiles potentially attacking?

No we don’t know that W and C brief the media about H. All we know is that H and M said they did. Given their tenuous relationship with the truth, I would need to hear it from a more credible source.

So are you saying that Harry, a private citizen resident in California, should just be able to rock up in London on a whim and expect highly trained armed protection officers to be there on standby just for him?
