Sentebale: Harry has hung the trustees out to dry. They should have known better and I have no sympathy. But I'm pretty sure Harry will see them as collateral damage, not his fault or problem, that their job was to support and protect him and nothing that happens to them after the CC investigation is anything to do with him. Tbf, I can't see the CC coming out with anything too serious as regards the ex-trustees. But still. Arrogant and stupid as he is, I think Harry's too knee-jerk to have anything close to a strategic enough vision to set fire to the charity only to come to its rescue. I also don't think he cares enough about the organization: he hasn't been to Lesotho in 6 years, losing it would be like losing a finger (wtf?), it's an unproductive relic from his previous life (Invictus at least serves a purpose today), and pretty sure his day to day life as influenced by his wife and children leaves little room for the beneficiaries of Sentebale (other than polo matches of course).

Oprah: given her personal history, and the amount of time and money she's put into her South African Leadership Academy for Girls, I expect she's very much on the side of Sophie Chandauka. And, I think she saw Harry for the braying, entitled, spoilt white British prince he is before she met him, and MM for the grifter she is the second she set eyes on her. Nothing gets past her. She used them, not the other way round. She has her own agenda (not money, at this point, and not even power: I think she's vested in her personal history and past and going to her grave at peace with herself and her wrongdoers and having set some things right) and neither of H&M figure in it at all. It would be a nail in Harry and Meghan's coffin if Oprah were to sympathetically interview SC, and Oprah knows this. If she does it (I have seen rumours she's in talks), that would be Oprah healing herself. (BTW I've never been an Oprah fan, but my Mum loved her in the 80s and 90s!).

"Nothing gets past her."
Except 17 lies, and a load of doctored headlines.

Indeed, @Rhaidimiddim, but then some would argue that Oprah wasn't to know what lies would be told because we were informed Meghan didn't know beforehand what questions would be asked

And for all I know some might even have believed it ...

Ah, you see I disagree. Marrying into royalty continues to be a prize and someone out there will think it's worthwhile. Though who it is might depend on how much money he has left.

He'd be lucky to get Katie Price as his next wife the way he's going. Meanwhile I'd like to see Meghan get used by someone the same way she used Harry. Is Kevin Federline still around? He certainly did a number on poor Britney.

I don't see those lies as Oprah's.

I see them as 100% Harry's and Meghan's. They did it to themselves. She let them hang there.

Oprah isn't a hard-hitting investigative journalist. She's light entertainment, always has been (apart from The Color Purple).

IcedPurple · 04/04/2025 13:07

I think this is a very unhealthy, controlling relationship. If the genders were reversed nobody would be in any doubt.

Within 4 years of meeting Harry, she had isolated him first from his friends, then his family, then his role, his country and everything he had ever known. Now all he has is her.

I'm not saying this to let Harry off the hook for his appalling behaviour. Just pointing out that the dynamics of their relationship seem deeply unhealthy to me. Harry is isolated without a support system. Even though objectively he is still the more 'powerful' partner in this relationship, I don't think he can see that. Hence all the nonsense about how Sophie was 'jealous' of Meghan. He is detached from reality.

Edited

yes i agree . She played him like a fiddle.
All that pretending to love the idea of a quiet life in Africa ( ha ha as if ). All the Diana Mark 2 nonsense.( Clinging onto Diana's headstone and communing with her beyond the grave etc ).
Whipping him up into a frenzy to protect her allowing Harry to thereby subconsciously save her in a way he couldn't do his mother.
It's all quite sinister .
But ..Harry is a grown man ( allegedly) and has to take responsibility for allowing himself to be so manipulated
And Meghan could only bring out of Harry what was already in there. He just managed to keep it somewhat hidden before he met her.

@RandyRedHumpback Dianas cream on his winky is just grim. No normal person would put that in a book, his kids are going to see that

I always thought Freuds stuff was a load of bunk until Harry wrote his book.

binkie163 · 04/04/2025 18:30

Well I am buggered, I had no idea MN was a seething bed of hateful, spiteful bastard's. Iv seen the odd bun fight on AIBU but always thought MN was a bit dopey and fluffy!
A great long running thread for adult children of narc bastard parents. Shame on moderators who allowed anyone enjoying princess of Wales cancer diagnosis. Royalist or republican no one should be reveling in that shit. I will lmao if H&M get into trouble but I don't wish them harm.

Another time W was reported to be (justifiably) furious was over the topless photos of C taken by a pap when they were on a private holiday in France.

They were not "topless" - she was changing her bikini briefs. (I came across them one day before they disappeared.)

They dealt with it masterfully.

And he got some nice holiday pics out of it to cultivate the image, here's the cheeky chappy prince playing football with some children, ooh he's such a scamp. Aww look he's holding a tiny baby, isn't he lovely.

Ten minutes later, H: "right job done. Oft to the polo field".

Or to shoot a passing animal.

Can you imagine if one of Princess Catherine’s close friends or close confidant had posted something like this online?
The Sussexes are really showing their true colours this week!

@MummyJ12 thats the post I was referring to earlier, where there's a direct link between M and the SS .

Baital · 04/04/2025 18:48

I didn't join for a long time because MNHQ seemed so biased towards Harry and Meghan's supporters. They seemed to be able to.post attacks that got their opponents deleted and banned.

Thankfully there seems to be a more balanced approach since last year's crazy Kate threads. Though I do see some familiar voices coming back under new names.

The situation with Harry's attack on SC seems to have muddied the waters again, as its difficult to paint him (and Meghan) as warriors against injustice given their rather racist attack on her

That's a horrible advertisement for himself and as result for his link to Meghan's show. The two of them tittering together about little " in jokes" was pathetic - this shows his true self.

But she had time to edit the "unscripted" interview and do some fact checking, and MM wasn't writing the tickertape headline feed.

If " nothing gets past" Oprah, she knew what she was dealing with and went along with it.

If she really wanted a seriois money eaner now - do a mea culpa, reproduce the interview, but with a bunch of talking heads identifying each lie and explaining why it wasn't true. I'd pay to watch that.

Uricon2 · 04/04/2025 18:52

Well, Daniel Martin, "your light" will need the wattage of 10 000 suns to "drown out" the current criticism.

Honestly, I know he knows her (unusually for the squad) but it's a bloody cult.

Rhaidimiddim · 04/04/2025 18:53

Lunde · 04/04/2025 17:20

It think that the issue with Meghan is that she bait and switched after the wedding. Harry seemed to think that he was marrying a woman who loved the same things as him - visiting Africa, camping in Botswana, doing lots of charity work for good causes (OK with others doing the hard bits) .... But the reality was that she wanted the billionaire, LA celebrity, merching lifestyle - so that's where he ended up.

She loved him up, then turned him into a horny toad. Oh brother, where art thou?

Baital · 04/04/2025 18:54

IcedPurple · 04/04/2025 17:56

No. I don't think he ever had any real interest in 'Africa'. The grey suits set up a cushy little charity for him there and of course he had the occasional glamping trip to Botswana with his latest squeeze. But beyond that I don't think he was bothered.

Africa is a large continent. I doubt Harry's 'love' of Africa encompassed the sprawling suburbs of large cities, factories, informal settlements.

Just the exclusive game lodges, interrupted now and again by playing with cute children for half an hour.

Mylovelygreendress · 04/04/2025 19:02

Lunde · 04/04/2025 17:11

He gave up everything to give Meghan the LA life she wanted

  • burned bridges with his family
  • gave up his friends and UK social life
  • gave up his job as a working royal where he was allowed to focus on his interests
  • gave up his home (I think Harry was OK with living in Notts Cottage but Meghan wanted the princess trappings)
  • gave up all of the trappings of a comfortable life to hustle in LA eg housing sorted, £2 million allowance per year, cars, security, domestic staff, clothing and probably a valet to iron them, a staffed office to do all the dull paperwork, polo ponies, daddy's lawyers on speed dial etc etc)

Now he is left following someone else's dream but has little to come back to either.

Harry himself admitted he never thought he would lose his security and he seemed to have been blindsided that Pa cut off his funding .
He seems to have believed he could swan off but keep the perks.

Her girls school in South Africa is as much a vanity project as anything else. Cherry picking talented girls, like any other private school.

One of DD1's uni friends went there. It's a good school, but like most pupils DD's friend is from a middle class family, her parents are civil servants. If she hadn't got a free place at Oprah's school she wouldn't have received a substandard education in a township school. They would have paid for another private school.

Baital · 04/04/2025 19:10

It's a missed opportunity. There is a desperate need for better education. For the same amount of money she could have made a real difference to thousands of girls by partnering with state schools and improving/enhancing what they can offer, raising standards and providing much needed resources.

After school clubs to build on and extend learning. Properly funded foster care and small group homes.

It isn't only white saviours who are problematic!

I think Daniel said that about According2Taz . He also called Bethany Frankel a hot mess and Tina Brown (always an MM supporter) a racist. He's a real piece of work that one.

This is true, @Rhaidimiddim, so I guess all that's left is the $$$$ involved - as if she needs it Hmm
