And on the Kate threads - something that bemused me at the time, and still does, was how many longstanding posters joined in on them along with all the new posters/new names - and then they all just disappeared entirely once the cancer announcement came out. The long-standing posters too. It was just really odd.

Yes there was one very prolific poster in particular who just disappeared overnight.

Weepixie · 04/04/2025 15:40

I think MNHQ were terrified of the Sussex Squad because they knew if they dealt with them they’d probably bring the site down.

It happened in an autism parenting forum I administered many moons ago. Certain people who’d pass by didn’t like the fact there was a small board on the forum for those who were actively seeking a cure for their children so they organised an influx of very angry posters who were absolutely vile, then when we had to start banning people they took the site down. Not one. Not twice. But three times. I think that’s the situation MN were trying to avoid.

Yes, overnight, pouf, they were all gone. Made me question what had been going on for the past several years.

I remember the precise moment that happened....

Although the common line is that Chelsey Davey and Crrssida Bonas broke made Harry a Haz-been, I think there was another reason: they understood how emotionally needy he is and were mature enough to see that being married to him would be very, very hard work. Brother Wills looks as though he has his moments, raging and needing Catherine to soothe him, but he comes across as quite self-contained and able to manage himself emotionally. Harry by contrast is emotionally incontinent.

Let’s not forget he cheated on them too!

Serenster · 04/04/2025 15:44

IdaGlossop · 04/04/2025 15:37

Interesting. Is the Charity Commission able to do that? Without trustee status, there would presumably need to be evidence that Harry personally broke the law ie using charity funds to fund his and Meghan's lifestyle.

Yes, in so far as the Charities Act 2011, which gives the Commission its powers, defines "charity trustees" as the persons having the general control and management of the administration of a charity. It doesn’t say they have to be formally appointed into that role. So if you are demonstrated to have a significant role in the control of the charity, then they have jurisdiction over you.

RandyRedHumpback · 04/04/2025 15:46

See, there's other commentary that Cressida was heartbroken that he broke up with her. That commentary hinges on H&M meeting earlier than they have made out, though. Either way, she must feel like she dodged a bullet!

I didn't know that. No whisper though of cheating on Meghan. The skies would have fallen in.

Profhilodisaster · 04/04/2025 15:49

Is it only Harry or Meghan who can call off the SS do you think or could it be a police matter? Hate crime type of thing? Someone must be able to do something surely?

I do wonder if there's a bigger agenda, with a lot of these people (probably finding some joy in being part of a community, even a heinous one) being useful idiots within the campaign for online censorship by the people pulling their strings. Which would tie in with the aims of the Aspen Institute and the Parent Network, Harry's Anti First Amendment (which he does not understand at all) interest groups. It's all quite fascinating and a bit tin foil hat, but then you see what was revealed in the Twitter Files and you think, well maybe the dots can be joined.

Harry is certainly no democrat, no fan of free speech and very much about the status and power of royalty.

Bad news for Harry then, as we know SC has evidence of him being in board meetings, shoeing in his own appointees as trustees, and giving instructions to employees of the charity ('I'm bringing a Netflix crew'). This is Harry's Newsnight moment but he's too dim to realise it.

The story SC is telling, as per The Behaviour Panel, is so plausible and SC so meticulous, that it's hard to see him not coming out of this very badly.

Well nothing happened when it was at its peak with the where is Kate crisis so I don’t expect anything will happen in the future, probably because they are an American set up I suspect.

I actually had to leave the site until it was over!
reports ignored , not enough of us to shut it down, it was awful!

Me too.

@MissRoseDurward I completely agree too. MNHQ didn’t seem to care. Especially bad when you think of all how MNHQ were with H&M, where there was extreme censorship of threads and a mass of deletions following the OW interview. I was once deleted for daring to suggest in my post that the couple would struggle to stay relevant! When I think of those Kate threads, it makes me so cross.

The “naked vegas pool party and pools game” was when Harry was dating Cressida.

I don’t think him cheating on them is confirmed unless Harry said something in Spare? I can’t remember, but don’t think he did as it would have been big news.

I went into battle on some of those threads, it was awful and I remember posting at the time I wouldn’t blame William and Catherine one bit if they announced they could no longer continue in their roles going forward it was so horrific, but maybe that was the plan, to push them to breaking point, not just on here but the worldwide media onslaught, fortunately W&C being made of strong stuff rose above it all, I have no idea how they coped with that and with Catherine being diagnosed with cancer, the whole thing was utterly shameful.

I seem to remember one particularly mindblowing post on (I think) the day Kate made her announcement, along the lines of people should be able to forgive themselves and not feel too bad if they'd said nasty things about her and William.

ETA not saying it's that poster, can't remember who it was but the content stayed with me!

MummyJ12 · 04/04/2025 16:09

I completely agree with you too @BigWillyLittleTodger.
Most people would have buckled under all of that relentless pressure. Completely and utterly shameful and then H&M come out with their anti bullying online nonsense. 🙄

BemusedAmerican · 04/04/2025 16:09

There were two posters on here that people referred to as "long time". I started watching MN after Spare came out because I wanted to see the UK response. I always had doubts about those posters. To me, it was easy to spot the plants. When the P. Diddy scandal broke, one of them kept asking me leading questions. I told them that it was all up to the US Courts and that they needed a social media break. They backed off after that.

BemusedAmerican · 04/04/2025 16:13

And the Sun once again going after the SS:

Serenster · 04/04/2025 16:23

Meghan’s makeup artist friend Daniel, who appeared in the first episode of “With Love, Meghan” has also been on twitter and commenting on the tweets of well-known Sussex Squad members. They don’t really try and distance themselves from them.

Just watched this - found it deeply insighful.

They mention that Harry has been named in the P Diddy case as a regular attendee of the parties. I'm really shocked at that. I've not heard that until now.

At least one of them had made a comeback recently under a new name. Same posting style gave it away - but not seen them over the last week.

Read somewhere that Beyonce and Taylor Swift were able to rein theirs in when needed.

BemusedAmerican · 04/04/2025 16:41

I was surprised when the Behavior Panel gut said that. The initial filing about the P. Diddy case (57 page document that was up on the NY Court site - probably still up) said that P. Diddy told people that if they attended his parties, Harry would be there. At the time of the filing, there was no proof given for Harry S attendance, just the P. Diddy used Harry as a lure.

BemusedAmerican · 04/04/2025 16:42

That was what the poster kept pushing me about. I told her that I had no idea who attended P. Diddy parties and to wait for the trial.
