The only thing I've heard is that they had ivf as Meghan was a bit older, which allowed for embryo screening. Their baby, though.
Maybe they did, it doesn't really matter. Definitely their babies and she was definitely pregnant!

I don’t buy this as she was pregnant very soon after the wedding. Why would someone have IVF when they hadn’t even found out they had a problem conceiving? It’s nonsense.

MrsFinkelstein · 05/04/2025 09:47

Place marking. Just trying to catch up.
I watched a very brief clip of the Behaviour Panel video (they can be a bit waffley). I agreed with the comment that Harry seems to have embraced the "victim role" since Diana died. The RF more than likely did enable this with him - for a variety of reasons.

I think that some celebrities, ahead of nuptials make that advance planning. I don't know if they did or didn't and I don't think it's a problem if so. This is part of our discussion about the surrogacy theory, and how ridiculous it is.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/04/2025 09:50

I wouldn't describe William as down to earth but the rest of the Queens grandchildren, Harry excepted, seem very well adjusted

While this is true, @AuroraCake, isn't the key word "seem"?

Though most have branched out in their own ways they still retain the connections and available boltholes for when things go wrong, and none of the others have moved away from those quite so thoroughly

In particular I wonder how the York daughters would appear if there was any way to separate them from the family's protection and find out more about their activities ...

Anyone we don't know can only seem.

Do they have the absolute trappings of generational wealth. Absolutely yes. Do each and everyone of the grown 4 avail of that. Absolutely yes. I can't take 5hat away from them. Bea and Eug have housing made available. Have jobs, kids. And do charity work.

I mean none of them with the exception of Zara have any talent that would make them 'special' in a real world context. Neither does Harry.

And even Zara's extras is because of who she is: Cheltenham, sponsors etc.

glitterturd · 05/04/2025 10:00

Zara's extras are because of who she is? She has no skill as a horsewoman? Ditto Princess Anne?

She absolutely does. So of the grandchildren she definitely does have talent. But being director of Cheltenham and things is because of that but also her royal affiliation.

Exactly, @AuroraCake, and that's why I wouldn't like to say how any of the others would cope if shorn of the whole shebang

As an "experiment" we've only really seen it with one of them, and while admittedly he seems dimmer than most that might just be because of the exposure

I think Harry being normal. Stay in army. Trade. Whatever. Would be fine. Unfortunately money and the god given belief that he is special and working is for chumps. I mean even Fergie gave it her best shot at everything she could.

So now Meghan has got to keep the family afloat.

Profhilodisaster · 05/04/2025 10:56

Credit where it's due, at least Meghan is trying to make money, I don't see Harry doing much.

I remember an account from someone who interviewed for a position with H and M around the time of the Spotify deal. They said that Harry had the air of someone who wasn't really interested in being at the interview and a 'why do I have to do this?' kind of attitude.

And the person thought "Er...because Spotify are paying you millions of dollars??"

Harry seems to think he's owed a living because he's a prince. He has no concept of what it takes to live in the real world and look after himself. It's why he's making such a mess of everything. He's pretty useless with no natural talent at anything.

The royal family are to blame for a lot of this, I don't think they pushed him to be independent in any way, but then I don't think they ever expected him to leave the 'fold' so independence wasn't really necessary.

It's all backfiring now though. Maybe the next generations will have more of a career outside of being royal. It would do them all good.

MissRoseDurward · 05/04/2025 11:06

Well Montecito was presumably her choice. They could have gone for a less expensive house in a less expensive area and lived within their means and out of the public eye.

And she could have come up with a business idea based on something she is genuinely passionate about and worked with experts to develop it, and be modestly successful by now.

Its not nonsense, plenty of wealthy older mums go down the IVF route purely for screening. Easier to have an embryo screened for abnormalities and then popped in rather than wait for scans and genetic testing further into the pregnancy. Also I fully expect they had gender screening of their embryos to ensure they had a girl the second time around. This is illegal in the UK I believe but totally legal in the US. A disproportionate amount of rich and famous in the US now have a boy followed by a girl.

Well he's sold his family for thirty pieces of silver, he hasn't got anything else to sell. He has no talents and no intelligence.

I felt for Meghan! In the white dress and high heels! My face got very full like that, and Meghan clearly had a post partum bump. I would disregard anything Lady Colin says.

I have actually watched the 'fake pregnancy' videos on YT and there are many bizarre photos and videos of her bump looking wonky, much higher/lower on the same day etc that cannot be explained by just camera angles. Personally I think she used a lot of different shapewear, padding etf to try to enhance the look of her bump. Perhaps she didn't like how it looked in clothes naturally, some women carry in a more aesthetically pleasing way than others - Meghan really cares about that sort of thing.
She wanted an 'elevated' bump, not an ordinary one 😁

RanyaJerodung · 05/04/2025 07:54

You're right, we don't know what they'll think. However, such Royal status and privilege may well be appealing? Both their parents place high value on it. Their future will be interesting, I think.

But is will be quite an alien life to kids that have been brought up without any RF contact in California. Most of the cousins of their generation seem to meet up regularly - long summers at Balmoral, Christmas at Sandringham, trooping the colour, horse events such as polo/3 day events. Probably some private family events as well and birthdays etc.

I believe so, though we've not heard much about it recently

However just as Harry pivoted to Travalyst when Sentebale became distatsteful he may well revert to BetterUp as each fresh thing falls

Yes you can’t knock her for that. She really is carrying Harry. She must be so frustrated being lumbered with such a man child

They really didn't need to go for the huge California statement mansion with 9 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms (plus a games room, a home theatre, a spa , an elevator, a gym, a pool etc) when they moved in as a family of 3.

None of us can really know whether either of them had some pre-existing issues that meant it was always known they would need IVF. In the US it is not uncommon to have fertility screening prior to marriage ... then Harry has written about his frostbitten todger ...

It’s very normal for a bump to be sitting higher or lower during the day.

And im sorry to say this but you seem to have a very unhealthy interest in Meghans pregnancies.

Exactly! I actually think it's a wise thing to do, if you can afford it. Prevents certain problems and heartbreak. They're still your babies!

They do seem to have close relationships. My dm didn’t like her SIL so I spent very little time with my cousins despite them being similar ages. My cousin and I worked hard in adulthood to keep in touch and I really regret we didn’t get the chance to be close as children. I wonder how Archie and Lillibet will feel.
