I think it's terrible that the government seem to have enough money to send overseas rather than spending it where it's needed here in the UK . I also think that the RF have enough money to forfeit being paid anything for a whole year and that money could be spent elsewhere. . I'm obviously not an economist but the way money is distributed seems crazy to me.

Definitely! it was always kind of obvious with Andrew and Harry though. Also Edward had his moments when younger. Charles has a temper and also reported that William has the same. Whether that lends to those feelings of superiority we don't know. Margaret definitely! But then you have her children and you think definitely not and that she did something right because they seem amazing. Similarly Andrew's girls. You could not imagine Anne, for one minute, being like that and her children seem very down to earth too.

I wouldn't describe William as down to earth but the rest of the Queens grandchildren, Harry excepted, seem very well adjusted.

I also recall him snapping back when an interviewer ( can’t remember his name ) suggested they give up their titles . Ouch.

The titles thing is an absolute joke. The kids not having them initially because they didn't like the ones they would have. And now they have useless, defunct ones like an exiled Russian or Italian royal. I mean I'm sure it would play in WASP society but not in California. Awful!

It's to continue the association with royalty. To undeline it and make it clear. Harry and Meghan are very royal and titles are important to them, together with the privilege that brings.
So instead of being embarrassed by their mendacious claim that their children wouldn't get titles because of their skin colour, here we have Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
That will ensure that they are defined by title and royal status for the future.

Depends what he kids turn out like. They may think: sod this and just decide to Iive their lives. Thing is we may never know. Little Beatrice's stepson is more famous and appeared more with the royal family than them.

You're right, we don't know what they'll think. However, such Royal status and privilege may well be appealing? Both their parents place high value on it. Their future will be interesting, I think.

Beatrice's stepson doesn't have a Prince title to merchandise, although he may make use of the connection,who knows?

I do wonder how H and M will answer questions as the DC grow older . How to explain why they left the nasty RF yet insist on remaining known by their titles . How to explain no contact with either Grandad , numerous cousins etc . Now that H has fallen out with Eugenie it seems he is fully on his own .

Or even explain the small, but constant lies which are easily disproved eg Meghan could only wear beige in the RF, Harry's dad never rode a bike with him, Harry's dad never hugged him etc etc. Two minutes on the internet and those lies are exposed.
So what about the bigger claims?

They may well choose to spend time with them.as they get older..a summer, a few months. One would hope they would be greeted. I'm sure they would. I mean they only seem to take actual holidays when in Scotland. So maybe there. But really the best hope is for them to try and build a connection with the Wales children when they are older. Free of all this pain.

But Meghan DOES look different - after she had the DC she was fuller faced, looked lovely and healthy, she has the Ozempic face now like so many celebrities.

I wonder if they feel silly about all the carry on and racist accusations they made about “our children won’t be titled”, now that those children are very much titled. They should.

I agree, she does look very different now. I know a lot of these celebrities have work done, it's difficult for women who are always photographed and judged, though.

I remember a British mixed race woman on the Netflix expose they did who said things like “I call the Commonwealth The British Empire 2.0 because that’s what it is” who made some rather embarrassing statements (like that) and tried desperately to link the RF to racism in every capacity she could. She was right about the ones who’ve been dead for centuries, talking about Elizabeth I and slavery, but I’m not sure that really flies 400+ years later as an example.

I don’t think these people realise that the RF have met more black people and immersed themselves in more cultures than you can shake a stick at, the way some people act like Meghan is the first non-white woman the RF ever came across or had to deal with was a bizarre and deliberate way of framing them as white supremacists.

I don’t think they do either. Imagine having to deal with them - never wrong, never sorry, always getting others to do their bidding and expecting apologies constantly. No wonder they had such a high turnover of staff

Also, some Commonwealth countries were never in the British Empire, but joined subsequently for the benefits.

I've never been close to my cousins, we certainly didn't play together as children and only really saw each other at family functions. I wasn't close to my grandparents either. I don't feel as if I have lost out on anything. My dad disliked his older sister and I just accepted it, we never really spoke about it , so maybe Archie and Lily will be the same. The only difference is they will have access to the internet and will be able read about it .

The pressure is immense. It's just so difficult for girls and young women now, surrounded by these images of women who seem to have perfect bodies and faces, but who spend $$$ on various body modifications.
