Surely you have to say where your product is manufactured? What about where the ingredients are produced? We know one of the problems with (deep breath) American Riviera Orchard is that the geographical element was 'too limiting.'

In the USA there is no need for them. Sorry Americans but in general the country operates as if they are still in the 1950s.

Selling a product for a lifestyle is one thing but asking people to support her and keepsakes is a load of 💩 . She's obsessed with herself.

Well you either buy into it or you don't 🤷

I keep alot of boxes and tins that are beautiful from products I buy and reuse then to keep other things in. I use some perfume bottles as diffusers or as a vase with a single stem flower. I used boxes as inserts in my draws. Some gift boxes have been used to save my 'keepsakes' in. Saves money buying other boxes and good to reuse something so better for the environment too.

If MM is promoting these products to make a decent amount of regular money, then there has to be a stability about their appeal and an excellence of quality to ensure repeat customers. However, it may be yet another flash-in-the-pan-gimmick just to raise her profile as a celebrity and soon she'll be on to her next big idea. Only time will tell whether she's got a long-term commercial success on her hands and whether that was ever her intention.

And the whole language around the marketing strategy hasn't been 'buy this food'; it's been 'be there with me on the start of this new chapter,' 'support me on my exciting new journey,' 'have a keepsake to remind you of this moment you shared with me.'

It's horribly emotionally manipulative of a certain kind of suggestible fan.

I think this is really true. It’s not good quality it’s ultra processed and jazzed up to fool stupid people. It is manipulative I agree. Daylesford Lady B has given a scathing critique which was quite funny in its absolute bluntness.

I read elsewhere that the various free online tools for monitoring website traffic had As ever at just under 13k visits yesterday.

Don't know who accurate they are but that is not a lot of interest,.

How many of those visits were people like me just being curious about price points? I wonder if those figures are accurate though because she would need a tiny amount of stock to sell out.

Thedom · 03/04/2025 07:08

It would be interesting to see what her initial inventory was, it's easy to sell out if you put 20 of something online and all your friends jump on to help you out and buy it.

But I do think it was a very limited launch strategy, she cannot risk her products possibly getting slated this early by mass selling .

The Times today was on fire, will try to screenshot a bit -

For food products sold in the UK, country of origin / manufacturer name / importer name should be present on packaging. Not sure about the requirements for food products in USA. I feel it is quite shady to deliberately omit this information on the label for edible items. For example, I look for origin of honey I buy these days, and avoid labels stating Mixed honeys of non-EU origin.

California is a huge producer of fresh raspberries. But I feel if she was using raspberries exclusively from Cali, she would be promoting that.

ARO was all about Montecito….we know why she can’t call it that, but she was trying to make a link to that area. If they were from Cali, she would definitely be telling us.

From reading online- California, Oregon and Washington are the big producers. But California is the fresh market producer and Washington is the freezing/processing producer. Still the west coast- but obviously she was zero connection to Oregon and Washington.

@BasiliskStare

I never wanted to gin shame anyone, but I do love me pretty gin bottles.

For scale also included posh preserve I got at the Edinburgh Christmas market. 7oz Passionfruit curd.

ps. I still think Meghan should have gone down the perfume/jewellery route. Much more luxe.

relatively rare sighting of the red cabbage bowl. Nice

that can't be right.
Must be loads more than that just from nosypeople having a quick look.

AtIusvue · 03/04/2025 07:56

I was on it, checking periodically. The site never crashed or anything.

I visited once because I saw an image of the tiny 2.5" x 1.5" jar of flower sprinkles and thought that someone must have photoshopped those dimensions on the packaging as a joke and I wanted to have a look at the product sizes. But, no, the jars are really that small. It's insane. Who but journalists and Misery-style superfans would buy that?

I guess we should be seeing some online reviews for the products in the next few days. I wonder how many will be genuine and how many from handpicked recipients?

Vespanest · 03/04/2025 08:24

I viewed the site, mindful I'm not the market, I sort of think it's priced just at the tail end that supporters and those willing to try will pay. Unless she's paying for generic products sold to place label on the overheads will be initially high. The small jars may come as a bit of a shock when opened which may backfire. I do tend to buy honey is the smaller jars though.

Thedom · 03/04/2025 08:47

So 5 posters from the RF MM forum checked it out, I wasn't bothered. .

Someone on Reddit, who has access to one of those companies who tracks internet traffic to different domains, posted the statistics. I screenshot it below. It looks legit, but you never know on Reddit.

They posted Goop as a comparison, but I think that is an unfair comparison considering how long Goop has been running, however the marketing for Meghans launch has been massive, don;t think Goop has ever had such a marketing campaign.

Is the spray meant to be spritzed into the tumbler or all around the person drinking it, thereby creating a fragrant herbal cloud that elevates the drinking experience?

On the drink but I think I'll try that! OK, people will think I've gone bats but they don't understand my struggles to "bring surprise and delight".

Thedom · 03/04/2025 08:49

Goop traffic statistics, big decline in traffic to her website since 2023.

StartupRepair · 03/04/2025 09:05

I thought As Ever is not trademarked yet.

StrawberryWasp · 03/04/2025 09:51

Surely if there were many items sold they would have been picked up by some influencers who are going to review them?
So we should start to see people sharing their As Ever purchases and reviews, if many were sold?

Also weren't we promised a big launch supported by her famous influencer friends? There wasn't anything.

Just it's live. Now sold out.

It stinks of being marketing ploy to generate interest and buzz. But I think it's more likely to just make everyone more jaded about the whole thing.

glitterturd · 03/04/2025 09:58

@AtIusvue I agree that if something is specific to an area or has a reputation then that would be used eg I know a well know Scottish cake shop who states in their window that the strawberries in their cakes only come from a certain place . You use it .

StrawberryWasp · 03/04/2025 09:59

I wonder if they intend to do any more pseudo royal tours?

I'd imagine that's going to be more difficult now M has gone fully commercial selling tat. Everything is now going to clearly look like an opportunity for self promotion and personal gain.

Previously they had a vague fig leaf of philanthropy to hide behind but that's now gone.

glitterturd · 03/04/2025 10:02

@StrawberryWasp people are just fed up with all the shenanigans, the fake starts, , the OTT performance - it's boring. There's too much and still no product. It's been hammed up so much people are seeing it for what it is - attention seeking. People may also think wtf is this crazy woman doing while her husband has been accused of serious things. She's revealing her priorities- herself. It's also stoking the fires with her behaviour.

Mylovelygreendress · 03/04/2025 10:04

I just took a deep breath and looked on the website . They only post to the US ?

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 03/04/2025 10:04

I just ordered some jam from the Highgrove shop. Childish, I know, but sometimes I can’t help myself.😀
