My my. That's a bit of a turnaround for The Torygraph

Edit for sp

This is going from bad to worse for Harry.

They are leaking info from sources while Sophie and Sentebale are happy to go on record, with receipts.

I love this for him.

AtIusvue · 31/03/2025 09:41

Side note:

Has Harry fallen out with Elton? His AIDS charity seems to have at one point sponsored the Sentebale cup but doesn’t anymore.

We know Elton gave his house for holidays etc and Elton spoke up for Harry about his private jet use when flying to Elton’s home.

But nothing for years! When you think of the terrible headlines over the years….and how Elton isn’t shy about speaking up….but he no longer defends these two.

Wonder what happened?

This was just a rumour I heard ages ago, so take with a pinch of salt….. apparently they were both overheard slagging off Elton while on his private jet! 🤷‍♀️

Who the fuck is he to tell anyone to explain themselves?

In one of his current legal cases, the RAVEC one, there is a document in which he uses what I'd call an imperious tone.

H requested the name of the person responsible for downgrading his police protection, stating 'I would like that person's name'.

Serenster · 31/03/2025 12:57

Yes TheAutumnCrow, good memory! The judgement stated:

[Prince Harry] asked who would be willing to put him and his family in a position of extreme vulnerability and risk …“ I would like that person’s name who is willing to take accountability for this choice please …”.

Harry also sent a text message to Thomas Markle that the judge declined to have read out in court, to spare Harry’s blushes, and then agreed with counsel that it would have been distressing for Thomas Markle to have received such a message.

MissRoseDurward · 31/03/2025 12:59

Who the fuck is he to tell anyone to explain themselves?

All of a piece with his 'I want a name' in the RAVEC discussions.

That's a bit of a turnaround for The Torygraph

Though it's not unheard of for a newspaper to have columnists putting forward differing views. They are opinion pieces, not necessarily the paper's editorial position.

H requested the name of the person responsible for downgrading his police protection, stating 'I would like that person's name'.

He also demanded that Backgrid hand over their property to him (as covered in the last Sentebale thread).
Typo edit.

Harry doesn’t know how to function without lots and lots of help and support.

Not his fault to a certain extent, it’s how he was raised.

But he just doesn’t understand the order of things outside BP and the RF.

He was raised to have work done for him, without even knowing said work was being done, or who by, or why, or when, or what for and in what order and at what cost etc.

He still doesn’t know. This is, imho, 90% of why he needs Meghan so much and why he will always defend her and give her whatever she says she needs/wants. She holds the cards in that marriage. If she leaves him, he will crumble. He will have nobody but his children and paid help. So many examples in history, including royal history, of how that ends.

The way he has conducted himself with various non-palace people over the years is just him continuing to be him. He treats everyone as though they’re palace employees, there to do whatever he wants and needs without complaint and in the way he needs it doing (without him even knowing what he needs), when he needs it doing. Journalists. Photographers. Charity employees. Security personnel. Therapists. Producers. Executive producers. Personal employees. Professional employees. Lawyers. Etc etc. He has no inkling these people have jobs, to earn a living, which they can’t jeopardize, and that he’s not their priority and cannot be their priority. He can’t get that into his head. When faced with this reality, he throws a tantrum because it’s more than he can handle and he doesn’t know how to deal with not getting what he wants/needs. He’s a literal prince, behaving like a prince. But outside the kingdom he’s just another pleb, and he doesn’t like it. It’s probably why he seeks refuge in nature and surfing and drugs. Doesn’t have to think about such things.

X post!

Not at all - it's fascinating (and relevant) how people are coming to similar conclusions independently, using sourced evidence!

MrsLeonFarrell · 31/03/2025 13:09

Harry obviously expected his press release to produce a round of affirming, supportive news articles. At what point is it going to occur to him that his eternal innocent victim routine is not working? At what point is he going to realise the power gulf between HRH Prince Harry, the working royal who represents the monarch, and Prince Harry, a member of the royal family with no official role? At what point is he going to sit down and wonder that maybe the problem is his attitude?

NewAgeNewMe · 31/03/2025 13:14

I doubt he ever will. His uncle Andrew certainly hasn’t.

The polo incident was wrong on Harry/Meghan’s behalf and would be really irritating. But Sophie Chandauka is also incorrect for touring the news rooms and the Daily Mail to diss the trustees and board members.

What she should have done was smile and say nothing, thank them for their support in getting the charity off the ground and supporting it in the early years to the point where it can now fulfil all its functions locally, further empowering African communities as the charity pledged to do. That would be a positive message that reinforced Sentebale’s goals.

Since she brought out ALL the laundry over the weekend, it is just a toxic charity. Who else would want to get involved with it now?

Smile and say nothing? Really?

Do you mean when they demanded her resignation? You think she should have smiled and stepped down?

Or do you mean having refused to resign, and after taking action to secure what she believed to be in the charity's best interest, the resigning trustees issued a public declaration of their loss of "faith and confidence" in her? You think she shoukd say nothing?

Why should she not respond? According to SC she was fighting against an outdated culture in the governance of the charity and an environment of bullying those who didn't simply toe the line.

She came back to the charity to find donations had dropped off since 2020 but the board had not even discussed this change! She noted the correlation between Mexit and the change in donations etc.

Harry then made things personal by requesting (or demanding?) that she publicly make a statement of support for Meghan following the debacle on stage at the polo match ( the last of a sequence of unprofessional acts made by Harry).

She maintains there was a culture of bullying and if that's what she observed then she is right to speak out. The charity commission will investigate, but that doesn't mean she has to say nothing in the interim. She has to steer the charity whilst that all goes on! Leaving an accusation about lack of confidence hanging in tbe air for the time the CC takes to review everything would have been wholly negative for Sentebale.

If that's what he expected (which I don't doubt), it shows he knows nothing about how journalists work. I wonder what the Sussex's new head of communications is doing today?

Who the fuck is he to tell anyone to explain themselves?

This is exactly what my abusive ex used to say to me - "Can you explain yourself," whenever I did something 'wrong'.

I don't know, I think Sophie Chandauka is coming out of it looking quite courageous, honourable and strong.

I’d go into battle with her.

Fourecks · 31/03/2025 13:18

I think Sentebale put out an excellent statement, except I wouldn't have used the phrase "as ever" towards the end.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 31/03/2025 13:21

@sweetgingercat genuine question here but are you saying that Sophie Chandauka should've put up and shut up about her claims of mistreatment and bullying but that Meghan was right to speak out about her claims of mistreatment and bullying within the BRF?

Profhilodisaster · 31/03/2025 13:21

Receipts! :

‘The Duke then contacted her directly to complain about her actions, with sources describing the message as “unpleasant”.
A spokesman for Sentebale confirmed the Duke had sent the message. “This is true. There is a document,” they said.’

She is like the seagull in finding Nemo
'MINE MINE MINE'
she just wants everything, she cant keep her grubby little mitts to herself. Just snorted at the memory of her caught red handed sneakily rifling through Harrys car boot at a polo match, she backed off guilty faced when challenged by security.

Was it not William’s car ?

He has history for this type of imperious letter, demanding action and issuing threats.

According the Lady C Buckingham Palace have to deal with a huge amount of mail requesting medical evidence (signed by a Dr, like the others Royals) that Meghan actually gave birth to those children. Perhaps another scandal if she used surrogates.

Lady C is best ignored.
