You'd think he'd realise how fortunate he is, wouldn't you?

He probably does realise he fortunate in some ways but not in other ways, like a lot of us.

Yes, although he doesn't seem to have that positive approach that many of us have to adopt to get through life.

We don’t know what Harry is like in his day to day life. Anyway, sometimes the people who seem the most positive are not really.

I think we have a very good idea from Spare, Netflix, various interviews etc etc. over the last 5 years.
He's given us a clear idea of his personality and approach to life.

I don’t. They’re still only small snippets really, talking specifically about certain topics. Thats different to how someone is in their every day life. How many hours make up 5 years? How many hours have we seen of him in the last 5 years?

A family member was in a relationship with a famous person years ago, not A list, but well known, and he had a reputation for being happy go lucky, kind, positive from interviews etc. He was most definitely not. It’s like when teenagers think they know Harry Styles because they watch him on stage and in interviews, they might even have met him. They still have no idea what he’s like because they don’t see him for most of the time he exists. It’s the same with Harry and anyone else in the public eye. How many times have we all been shocked to find out that yet another celeb who ‘seemed nice’ wasn’t actually nice at all? We really don’t know Harry.

Ha! A family member is married to someone who is the child of a famous author. This person comes across as erudite, thoughtful , kind and lovely. Nothing could be further from the truth. So I know what you mean.

I do think though that if Harry comes across so badly in what we have seen, this is his character. It’s who we thought he was before he met Meghan that was a false image.

TheBackupPlan · 29/03/2025 16:35

I don’t think he has come across ‘so badly’. He’s human, we all come across well sometimes and not at others. A lot of it it just opinion. On the RF board he is usually seen as bad, but that is not so much the case when he is discussed elsewhere.

Why do his fans always say they're "snippets"?! That's been claimed so often.
A full length autobiography is not a "snippet".
A Netflix series is not a "snippet".
Not are full length interviews with Oprah, Tom Bradby et al.
I think we know Harry very well indeed. He's not someone who has had a successful career and now wants to live quietly.
We know exactly what this man is like.
Snippets indeed. Every single time!

He comes across as bad everywhere, apart from fan threads. That is because he has been proven to be dishonest, deceitful, nasty, unpleasant and happy to monetise his loved ones' privacy.
All in details from the man himself.

I'm going to start a drinking game - every time a Harry supporter says "you only know snippets"
😂😂😂
Same old, same old!.😂

Prince Harry says Spare will be written "not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become".

Well, he showed us he is a rude, entitled, disrespectful and petty man child and everything we have seen on Oprah, Netflix etc has just backed that up.

I’m neither a fan or someone who hates him. I have said that he has said some inappropriate things. I use ‘snippet’ because it’s just a book or x amount of hours of interview and there is a lot we don’t see. He could be an absolute cunt, but more likely he’s sometimes a cunt and sometimes not. I’m an animal rights campaigner so Harry definitely isn’t someone I’d be a fan of with his history of hunting and polo playing. I hate that part of him.

eta that I was very vocal on a thread about the polo match where the horse had injuries and no one could have called me a Harry fan on that thread.

Yes the term “snippets “ doing a lot of heavy lifting there!!
Or dare I say a lot of elevation! 😉🤣

Over the past 5 years, Harry has shown himself to be a particular kind of person. Not just one brief "snippet" of information, but a significant amount of detail, in his own words, to various sources.
I've gleaned information from these sources, from the man himself. Does he have redeeming qualities? I'm sure he does, like most people. However from his own accounts, and they are many and various, I'm going to say that he does not appear to be a pleasant, positive, honest, hard working, trustworthy or supportive person. His words.
Not snippets.

IAmATorturedPoet · 29/03/2025 17:14

I would say he is 3/4 of the way to absolute. I'm holding back on the final 1/4 until everything is out in the open about his charitable endeavours.

DelectableMe · 29/03/2025 17:16

Yes. We'll see what happens with the charitable endeavours. I'll make no judgement without evidence, though.

I disagree. I don’t think anyone is all bad. There are things he has done that I think are good like speaking out about certain things his family did, his work on invictus, standing up to the media, highlighting racism. I don’t see it as a bad thing for him making money from telling his story, although I think certain things in his book were inappropriate. There are things he has done that I hate, his use of racist language when he was younger, wearing a nazi costume, his treatment of animals etc. But if that makes me a fan in your eyes, whatever.

please can you tell me what in particular he has spoken out about?

DelectableMe · 29/03/2025 17:21

You've said you're not a fan, @TheBackupPlan . Fine, my mistake. That's because in the last few days about 3 of his fans have said that I've only got information from "snippets", so that's what led me to that conclusion. I accept that I was wrong, you'd just chosen that word. I've already said that I don't think he's all bad. No-one is. However, I find, with him, based on his words alone, to be a person whose behaviour I find to be very unpleasant. To say the least.

Hazeby · 28/03/2025 08:02

Having a nice peaceful life with his wife and kids away from the toxic British media and his letdown of a family.

This. I don't understand all the hate.

DelectableMe · 29/03/2025 17:22

What "hate"? @clarepetal ?
Criticism isn't hate. Judging people on their actions and words isn't hate.

SoNotaRealHousewife · 29/03/2025 17:31

There’s been a book, interviews, documentaries, all by Harry, so I think it’s reasonable that people draw conclusions re the type of person he is

It’s always “hate” @DelectableMe, it’s apparent to me the people who say this have neither seen nor been on the receiving end of real “hate” ! 🙄

SoNotaRealHousewife · 29/03/2025 17:32

The constant accusations of hate are getting a tad boring, not to mention unimaginative

Fair enough but I’m definitely not a fan and not everyone who says things like I do is. In recent years I have spent a few hours reading spare, watched the Netflix programme they did and have probably seen a few hours of other interviews, footage, news articles of him, which I’ve had various opinions on from ‘good on him’ to ‘what a twat’. I think those things about most people though. I do think some people have taken a dislike to him and now anything he does is automatically bad.
