There's an interesting comparison with what happened with Invictus a couple of years ago. The two chiefs in charge of bringing the games to Whistler, Peter Lawless and Bill Cooper, were sacked, amongst (unconfirmed) rumours about budgets being exceeded and low morale. In Lawless's case, he was both a sports lawyer and THE authority on bringing these types of games to Canada, so it was all a huge surprise, and no explanation was ever given for their departure. But they were employees, and possibly bound in ways that has prevented them from speaking out. Dr Chandauka is, by contrast, a volunteer. But also an extremely experienced lawyer and established philanthropist in her own right. And clearly not someone who feels any need (legal or moral) to go quietly. By contrast, in this case, we have the clap back from the top. The Charities Commission findings will be interesting reading.
