Commissionable links- means when a potential customer clicks on the link, it's attributed to the affiliate, allowing the brand to record the source of the traffic. If someone buys a product using an affiliate link, the brand will pay the affiliate marketer commission on the sale

But she’s not an influencer?

This is really sad actually.

I think that sums up why people are discussing this. So much hype about what they were going to do, very little has came to fruition and now it’s selling clothes. I’m also quite surprised that she wears so much beige, I thought now she is away from the confines of the RF she would attempt a more colourful look

Agree. All the big talk about changing the world and due to their own folly, he is a non-entity (and now ousted from his charity) and she is reduced to being a third-rate influencer peddling jam and getting commission for touting perfectly non-descript clothing.

Wasn't she chafing at the style restrictions for royals? Yet all she ever seems to be in now is blue jeans with a white shirt, or black trouser suit or beige quasi-menswear styles.

AtIusvue · 26/03/2025 19:48

Remember when there were rumours that Meghan would get a deal with Dior….and they quickly and publicly shut down that rumour

Well….where there’s a will….theres a way

Shes put commissioned links on her insta shop. Awwww, not quite the same but she tried.

I think it’s quite funny the way people devote so much time and energy starting threads and posting about non-entities 😀

Just shows what she said about the colours she had to wear while in the RF was yet another lie.

It's true what they say, a good liar also needs a good memory!

I think it's more funny the way people devote so much time and energy to 'calling out' the above 😂

The title will always be there because everyone knows she has it and regardless of everything she has a higher profile because of it. She doesn't need to actually use it and if she was simply Meghan, she would get the publicity but less backlash and so more sales. I suspect that the proportion of people in the US who would buy from her because she is royal is smaller than the proportion who would buy because she is a celebrity with a large profile. The US is so vast she doesn't need the royal market there.

I'm actually surprised that she hasn't been consistent with the " Meghan " only. It would show that she is independent of her links to the RF and she's not acting like a nepowife. She must not feel it's enough on its own.

It's interesting to speculate about how much of the title use is Meghan and how much is Harry refusing to let go of his last sausage as it were.

They just happened to see it though remember in between clearing their driveway and picking wild garlic and copying Meghan's ideas . It's just another little bit of their busy busy world . Love a bit of Richard Scarry.

I hardly think Harry is forcing her to use the Duchess title on her merching platform? Or demanding that her 'friends' refer to her as 'Sussex'?

glitterturd · 26/03/2025 20:51

I agree with @IcedPurplemy last sossidge would be it's Meghan.

MaggieMistletoe · 26/03/2025 20:54

Only just catching up on all this. The Windsor dress, good grief 🙈
I cannot help but be impressed by her lack of embarrassment or scruples about anything. Even while I am dying of second-hand embarrassment for her. The make up links actually made me feel quite sad for some reason.
My guess is that she is scrambling to squeeze every drop she can from the titles while she can as her and Harry know all too well that William will be coming to pluck them out of her grasping fingers once he's at the helm. I think that's also the idea behind trying to claim 'Sussex' as a surname, so they can justify clinging on to it even when they are no longer the Duke and Duchess.

I had a look and the makeup is part of a ‘wedding edit’. She got married almost seven years ffs. Just another opportunity to remind us that she was once part of the royal family and was a princess for the day. To be fair, the makeup was the only thing correctly done for the church ceremony.

Maybe, I feel it is one and the same as carrying resentments about bedrooms and sausages over from childhood. I'd keep my title to avoid a Harry tantrum if I were her. But I may be wrong and she is just as keen to use it.

That was a weird thing to sell, surely the make up has moved on since then?

EmpressOfTheThread · 26/03/2025 21:05

She looks completely different now, anyway. Like a different person.

I would be genuinely very interested to see the figures behind this.

Waitrose has done a deal with the Duchy Brand and the official line is that profits go to charity but is that all of the profits?

✉️

It's not all of the profits, no. Waitrose bought a brand Charles was desperate to unload when it stopped turning him a profit.

They seem to have turned it round successfully (which in itself speaks volumes) and his charities are benefitting at no risk to themselves.

Personally I can't see an issue with Waitrose taking their cut. Charles quietly letting it be assumed he's still actively involved other than as a deposit box is another matter.

BemusedAmerican · 26/03/2025 21:05

Back in the mid 90's, I realized during a long subway commute that everyone was in khaki, black, white and/or jeans. It was a time when The Gap was at its retail height and everyone looked like a Gap window.

Also back then, my brother had a weekly farm share and they kept giving him bags of edible flowers in his share, much to his annoyance. He wasn't a fan of marigolds and nasturtium in his salad. He kept hoping for more tomatos.

It's like she's trying to recapture the 90's.

KatherineParr · 26/03/2025 21:07

I think that's also the idea behind trying to claim 'Sussex' as a surname, so they can justify clinging on to it even when they are no longer the Duke and Duchess.

My entirely speculative theory is that there have been conversations behind the scenes around H&M 'voluntarily' giving up use of the Sussex title, and that is what's driving the slightly odd public conversations around Sussex being their family name, to make it awkward for the title to be dropped. I have no evidence for this but I don't otherwise see the point of the 'Meghan Sussex' rebrand.

CathyorClaire · 26/03/2025 21:16

Hmm.

'Edinburgh' reverting to the crown when Eddie turns his toes up.

'York' and 'Sussex' now too toxic for generations to come.

It's not looking good for those made-up senior gongs 😎

EmpressOfTheThread · 26/03/2025 21:16

Like their mouthpiece Omid Scobie tweeted (somewhat pompously) when Archie was born that he wouldn't have a title.
Look at Prince Archie now. Something changed their minds.

I see no hatchet being buried. With the brighter royals, it's always monarchy first, family second. My knee is on William wielding the sword the second his bottom lands on the throne.

I wonder about this too, although I also think his wife might try to talk him out of it as it might be construed as vindictive. Letting them do their own thing has certainly shown H & M to be shallow grifters with a very loose relationship with the truth, no sense of their own ridiculousness, and egos the size of a planet. They have done enough damage to their own reputation without the RF saying a word.

EmpressOfTheThread · 26/03/2025 21:22

Don't give them any more excuses to be victims! Dear lord, we'd never hear the end of it.

We've never seen a royal on their uppers yet and Harold won't be the first.

Willy will bite the bullet 😎

And what was all that "call me Harry" thing? It didn't last long. Maybe he wasn't allowed to.
