Commissionable links- means when a potential customer clicks on the link, it's attributed to the affiliate, allowing the brand to record the source of the traffic. If someone buys a product using an affiliate link, the brand will pay the affiliate marketer commission on the sale

But she’s not an influencer?

This is really sad actually.

Mark my words, you won't have long to wait.

I hate all those arty farty photos celebs etc post of their babies. Either show a photo or don't show one. We couldn't pick them out in a lineup anyway!

I don't think many people would be interested in their children tbh.
Beyond a very fleeting " oh, that's what they look like" what else of interest is there in them?
We're only interested in the parents for the schadenfreude .

I don’t understand that at all.

Meghan was well paid for Suits, and Harry isn’t exactly broke - why were they buying a discount sofa if that wasn’t what they wanted? I think between them they could furnish a house however they wanted.

@weepixie

The only embarrassment comes from a very strange reaction to a joke and continued attempt at seeking my attention.

Im not in the least bit embarrassed by my Onlyfans joke, in fact I’m quite proud.

You won’t convince me otherwise

I refrained from commenting on your post. I think many posters may have done as I did. It was ‘ick’. That you had 12 responses of ‘funny’ is pretty ick too - in my opinion.

Well my comment in support of MM got deleted, which I think is astounding.

I personally would not do that, but lots of celebrities do, so I don’t think she deserves the venomous commentary she receives.

I also don’t think she has to be perfect.
And lastly, I do think that (for some posters) everything she does is viewed through a lens of “how can we pitch this as showing up some defect in her character”.
Given that she can’t win, she can’t draw even, and she can’t even quit the game, why shouldn’t she just please herself?

I don’t think she deserves venomous commentary.

But in terms of the children, I’ve seen multiple threads on here criticising specific celebrities for showing their children, but also more broadly criticising the general concept of influencers using their children on social media. So it’s not like she/they are uniquely criticised for it while everyone else is fine. MN in general takes quite a dim view of children on SM I think, even non-celebrities putting pics on their fb for family to see is often discussed negatively with comments around children’s consent and privacy.
If you add in her comments around the dangers of SM, and not wanting her children photographed, then I don’t think it’s a wildly unfair or surprising criticism.

I’m not on the joyful Meghan thread. I’m not there because I have nothing to contribute to that thread. I also don’t look for arguments like others do.

Shame others don’t have the same respect.

And so what if they do do that? William and Kate regularly parade their kids in front of the world’s media as part of the trade off for their lavish lifestyles.

H&M have said that they don’t like being an every day part of the Royal Family and having to parade their kids about on others terms. They never said they dislike money.

I recall Harry saying he worried about the Wales DC because of their roles . He also wanted to ensure that the Late Queen had the right people around her . Pompous ass.
Meghan said she couldn’t take Archie to school in the U.K. as there would be 50 photographers waiting ( in her dreams). They said they wanted to raise their DC out of the limelight without titles .
People are calling out the hypocrisy.

PR continues

So the podcast sounds like diary of a CEO type thing. Nothing exciting, nothing terrible. But the way she speaks seems so performative that it doesn’t sound like she’s having a normal conversation. Starts 8th April. I’m sure Harry will be listening in to get business ideas

Hasn’t it just, where do they get these ever increasing fantasy figures from.

@Weepixie

“she had about $7million when she married into the RF”. ????

And another posted did this originally - Cherry picked some of my words and not even included the full sentence so it looked like that was all I wrote. Why has that been pulled out of a full sentence of mine?

The following is the last paragraph of my post and contains the cherry picked words.

This is what Meghan did before. She capitalized on her acting role in Suits and made something more from it, and according to some newspaper reports, she had about $7million when she married into the RF. She’s now capitalizing on her show. Let her get on with it.

Ive since found a source and posted it on here that it says she was worth $5 million.

If it was just $2 million it was money she made herself through hard work.

I haven’t done any of things. My opinion of her (and Harry) is based solely on the fact they are both liars and fantasists.

Are they though? And isn’t your “they are both liars and fantasists” proof of the lens through which you view them.

Is there any action she could take that you could give wholesome praise for? Just one thing that wouldn’t be subject to snide criticism of action, her motivations, and what it demonstrates of her character?

You start these highly critical threads about Meghan. You make an only fans ‘ joke’ about Meghan, then add to it later, and think it’s all so merrily funny. And you think that people should just leave you to it and not object. Are you lost? This is mumsnet.

That’s what I thought.

Technically, the NF deal isn’t over yet. So why is so much energy been going into this….by the looks of it, since 2023?

Why wouldn’t you be concentrating all your efforts on a $100 million dollar contract…..rather than the unknown of launching a royal influencing career?

I think for a while now, people have been talking about how little has been developed for NF….what happened to the movie etc? I think Meg and Harry knew nothing was going to happen and started redirecting their efforts two years ago (we also know Harry was looking for his ‘next phase’ when he hired John kettler early 2024- so must have started the search 2023) This must have been because the cheques from NF are contingent on work being produced. With the exception of the love story docu, I don’t think they’ve earned much from it.

I think when everything is accounted for, they won’t have any more than £20/25 million from the deal. Which to us mere mortals, is insane but their lifestyle habits mean that, that sort of money won’t last long.

So knowing that they won’t get anymore big cheques from NF, they had to overlap with a transition of her new business

We don’t hear anymore, anything about Archewell productions or her career as a producer. It’s all disappeared. They must have been told 2023 that there isn’t enough cash to keep going long term, they need to think of something else.

Edited

I think when everything is accounted for, they won’t have any more than £20/25 million from the deal.

I'd be amazed if they netted that much after production costs, taxes etc.

Even if they did, they aren't going to be getting lucrative media deals again, so whatever money they made from NF is going to have to last them a long time.

You could be right, I was being generous.

It’s certainly not 100 milion but don’t feel it would be as low as 10. I think maybe $20 million
