Markle's logo is similar to the logo on the back of the crew jackets for Madonna's Blond Ambition tour.

Is there anything original about this woman?

@LetsPhotographTheLights So agree with your post.

I am not a "fan" but do not think Meghan deserves the amount of vitriol she gets.
oh and im in my 60's.

What's the relevance of your age?

Samcro · 21/03/2025 10:37

AtIusvue · 20/03/2025 23:36

You have to wonder the age of these ‘stop bullying’ posters…..

this post, made age a thing

TofuFighters · 21/03/2025 10:37

AtIusvue · 21/03/2025 10:24

No one is bullying. If you have concerns that they are- contact MNHQ. Stop derailing.

This thread was started which deliberately twisted the truth about the situation. The thread has naturally then led to discussion on how Meghan is treated unfairly on the board as a whole because this thread wasn’t presented in a truthful way. If people are going to post threads where they twist things and others go along with that, prepare to be challenged. It’s relevant and not derailing,

frillygillymilly · 21/03/2025 10:39

@Hitherzither why do you think I am a fan? I haven't watched the show, it's not my thing. I don't care if a crown is her logo or what her monogram is, or if she sees herself as Royalty. I'm not fussed by Royalty & don't care for them, although I did like the Queen.

As I said I don't see her as any different to other celebs and am not shocked that she is trying to make money. You don't have to be a fan to not understand why someone gets so much scrutiny & vitriol.

It’s did not naturally led to a discussion about bullying. Posters deliberately derailed to accuse others of bullying. very different.

Again…I see you refuse to post positive comments about meghan. Strange.

AtIusvue · 21/03/2025 10:41

Also- create your own- Meghan is bullied thread.

frillygillymilly · 21/03/2025 10:42

This linking of the crown with Meghan makes me wonder if her supporters see her as American Royalty under the new Trumpian America. Is that what her supporters want? I used to think her supporters by and large were republicans and against a royal family. I wonder if they are actually pro American royalty.

I don't even know what any of this means! 😆 I'm not American for one.

AtIusvue · 21/03/2025 10:42

They just can’t say anything nice can they….even about Meg.

frillygillymilly · 21/03/2025 10:43

Posters deliberately derailed

Why is it a deliberate derailment to
post something different to the narrative?

That’s the definition of derailment. The topic was the note, posters deliberately sought to push the thread off topic.

If you want a thread to talk about bullying create one

The derailment is usually the 'you are bullies, haters, racists etc'. so one minds a difference of opinion, Its just an effort to throw out insults at those who have a difference of opinion and derail/.

AtIusvue · 21/03/2025 10:49

Sorry, I forgot. These posters are don’t know how to create a thread, just derail others.

glitterturd · 21/03/2025 10:50

Meghan has voluntarily chosen this as a way of life. Life in the public eye is vicious. There is only so much audience and all these influencers are trying to get their part of it. It's a dog fight. Of course the public will criticise her - it happens to most people who put themselves out there touting for business. Of course the actual participants will try to get maximum exposure for themselves to get that 💵 . That is what life in social media is like now whether we like it or not. People choose to go on dancing or skating or jungle shows. It's all about performance and judging. Meghan's situation is even more complex because she is this multi faceted person - allegedly a philanthropist talking about mental health, women's roles and environmental impact yet here she is selling bags of pancake mix at 25 bucks. Where does that fit in to the farmer's market, the environmental costs of producing and shipping something like that . She regularly takes private jets for short trips. It is hypocritical and that is why people talk about her. It's not because she's biracial. It's not because they are bored or have nothing else to do. I personally detest liars and hypocrites and her actions have proven her to be one. Why would Meghan not be talked about in this sphere she has chosen to operate in ? Is she somehow different? People who do not adopt this lifestyle are rarely heard about.

The vast majority of threads I'm on veer into various tangents. Is it deliberate derailment that @Hitherzither is asking me about Trump & American royalty?

Mylovelygreendress · 21/03/2025 11:00

TofuFighters · 21/03/2025 09:53

Hopefully you don’t post obsessively and negatively about her then because people who are persistently making negative comments about another person are bullying. Meghan bullying others doesn’t justify others bullying. It’s not how decent people behave.

Don’t think I post obsessively!
I am one of the people who was delighted when Harry found true love . I had never heard of her and didn’t know she is mixed race until I read that .
I was a bit hmmm at the engagement interview but still watched and enjoyed the wedding . I thought she looked lovely .
But then there was the nonsense around Archie’s birth , the tone deaf interview in Africa , the baby shower etc etc and I started to see her as a greedy , manipulative person .
Since 2020 , both her and Harry’s behaviour has been appalling . Even on the day The Queen died , it became all about them .
So I probably do post negatively because these days i can’t see anything positive about her !

Extiainoiapeial · 21/03/2025 11:03

I can say lots about Meghan I like but as I explained, even complimenting a dress she wore resulted in endless posts of how wrong I was, it was ridiculous, just a dress that looked nice on her!

There's bits I don't like either. I think she should drop the crown on that notelet. It looks silly.
I like her style of dressing, but I don't think she should get any thinner as it does her no favours. I enjoyed some of the NF series as I enjoy seeing how to present food and it gave me some ideas. I think it's a cosy home vibe. Some of it was boring, some OK. And certainly not worth 7 threads consisting of 1,000 posts each and a lot of negative posts about her and Harry... derailing and not keeping on topic.

I admire her 'keep on keeping on' attitude despite years of being the official punchbag for clickbait for years. She must be very strong.

I do think that when there are millions of articles on the couple, it takes away anything the royal family are doing. Or not doing. It's convenient. Every move she makes is scrutinised, dissected, and vilified. And loads of people jump on the bandwagon, often to make money.

frillygillymilly · 21/03/2025 11:04

And loads of people jump on the bandwagon, often to make money.

It's definitely clickbait!

glitterturd · 21/03/2025 11:07

Of course people are making money out of it - exactly what Meghan has done. She stirs the pot. She dished the dirt. Roll with pigs and you get muddy.

HereForTheFreeLunch · 21/03/2025 11:07

She should have used the same M as in her stylised writing for the monogram.

Then put the crown on the twiddly thing so it would look like a beret style crown. A more stylish/fun/youthful crown than the stuffy royal family one.

If whole threads direction ends up being about Trump and the USA- then yes. If they endlessly talk about Trump and the US. Then yes. If they constantly quote others just to talk about Trump. Then yes.

I don’t think either of those things have happened.

Count the number of meghan is being bullied posts.

I don't understand your post. I am talking in general about thousands of threads over years dragging her down.
This thread ain't special ! It's just another one to add to the huge amount and yes, it's bullying. She was called unhinged, threatening, likened to a serial killer, psychotic, ... it was twisted into something it's not. All she did was write a note! If you think this sort of abuse of her is normal,... well, there is nothing to say.

Let her write a note. Let her bring out a NF series. Move on.

AtlusVue. I have already said she learnt calligraphy so she should be able to do and note in whatever style she wants to
My dear old Mother had wonderful handwriting and it hasn't been passed down!

I can express an opinion on a discussion forum if I so wish. You cannot police threads by telling other posters what they should be posting and what they shouldn't be posting. That's not the way it works sorry

I wouldn’t start a thread about someone I liked if I knew there was a lot of hatred for that person, because I know it would invite a lot of horrible comments and the thread wouldn't go well

^ This. Anything positive is drowned out by negative posters. Very unpleasant and is something I cannot get my head round. It's almost as if those but really don't like Meghan just cannot bear to see anything positive about her anywhere and they just have to shout it down.
No way would I be starting a positive thread about Meghan. Ive seen the personal attacks on posters who don't dislike Meghan.

Your words right back at you!

TofuFighters · 21/03/2025 10:11

If Meghan has bullied others then that isn’t acceptable and she is a horrible person to do that. It still doesn’t justify others bullying and it definitely doesn’t make the high numbers of people’s negative posts any less weird. Spending hours a day picking over everything another person does, suggesting things like ‘serial killer vibes’, persistently making sarcastic comments about them, saying horrible things about their looks etc is not the behaviour of a normal adult and nothing will convince me it is. As a pp said, mumsnet hosting this is disappointing.

Exactly this. Two wrongs don't make a right, as my dear dad used to say.
There are posters here who seem to have a bit of a guilty conscience.
It IS bullying, even if someone "deserves" it.
