I have to say it !!!
Grooming!

Thedom · 08/03/2025 12:06

What's this about, did Meghan and Markus keep a list of teenage superfans so they could connect them to each other? to coordinate something ? Meghan sounds desperate to not offend them.

@glitterturd is that post a recent one or from years back? Was MM (an adult) sending messages to these girls when they were children?

The first contact was 2013. I've obscured the girl's name but her insta is open for all to see.

Meghan from the event

Is she elevating that wine by holding it?

glitterturd · 08/03/2025 12:13

Meghan clearly used Insta to create a following with young people.

Thedom · 08/03/2025 12:14

Whatabout if Andrew had been sending messages like that to teenage boys.

Okay, Okay, just joking and taking the proverbial p..s on the whatabout Andrew theme

BemusedAmerican · 08/03/2025 12:14

The grooming is really disturbing.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 08/03/2025 12:17

@glitterturd @Thedom . thank you for the links. Mind a bit blown! Is this normal in their world? Do all stars do this? Even if there's a perfectly innocent explanation for her interactions online with young teens, it makes a complete mockery of the lectures we have received from her on online safety, and her attempts to use her not inconsiderable political influence to bring about online censorship. It once again makes me think that the work of H&M in this area is nothing to do with caring for children online, and everything to do with shutting down their own online critics.

Wait... Were these the young women who spoke to People? The five friends who spoke about the letter?

No I think one was Jessica Malroney, one was Abby Spencer, think one of her childhood friends that she’s keeps around….whos a bit like Anne to Meghans Amanda.

glitterturd · 08/03/2025 12:22

In trying to elevate Meghan's status by hosting this event they have actually raked up a pile of shit which doesn't look good. Someone hasn't paid attention to the details here.

That’s what I don’t get. Netflix paid for them to come out and put them up in a hotel!!!!

Bloody looks like trafficking!

I don't think it could in any way be described as normal for an adult to interact in such an overly familiar way with little kids over social media. How (why?) did she pick those ones out of the fans who would have been commenting on her SM or writing to her.

It's pretty disturbing.

I am guessing/hoping that Netflix had no idea that these fans would be formerly teenage groupies. Rather, middle aged, middle class, monied women willing to buy/buy into the tat.

AtIusvue · 08/03/2025 12:28

I get as a celeb, having obsessed teenage fans comes with the territory but you don’t bloody encourage them! …..then use them for your website to promote that yourself!

I remember seeing somewhere. That in Meghans Suits days- that she was leaving a building with another suits actor. Meghan was mobbed by fans and there was paps there that took photos. The other actor looked confused. I’m guessing these are the fans that she was encouraging.

glitterturd · 08/03/2025 12:29

There's a great deal more to all of this and people are working on it .

J K Rowling famously wrote to Evanna Lynch for years when she wore to her as a young fan who was struggling and related to Luna. I think it is fairly usual for famous people to respond to young fans, particularly those who wrote in and seem vulnerable.

TheSecondMrsCampbellBlack · 08/03/2025 12:29

OMG just when you think it couldn't get any worse - wtf is she doing engaging with teenagers online, as an adult? How on earth has this not been raised before? It's awful. Those poor girls. How can she not have understood that it's beyond inappropriate?

glitterturd · 08/03/2025 12:30

Seemingly they all have the hats Meghan was wearing so they are her unpaid publicity. They knew from the screening there was more.

I know there is a right wing podcaster (one who was given the Epstein files by the Whitehouse) who has mentioned that she would be doing something on Meghan in the future.……

Not2identifying · 08/03/2025 12:34

I understand that it looks a bit creepy but I'm willing to give Meghan the benefit of the doubt for whatever interaction she had with them when they were kids. I think lots of famous people make the occasional comment on an ordinary person's post or write a sentence encouraging someone. The person on the receiving end might then say something like 'I felt really seen', it has an outsize impact because it's unexpected contact with a famous person which is memorable to them but is actually pretty mundane.

I think Meghan was just interacting with fans in a friendly but ultimately pretty distant way (like many people would have done in her place, trying to work every angle to raise her profile in a competitive industry).

I'll admit the getting back in touch today thing is a bit...rather than sinister, I'm going to say desperate.

AtIusvue · 08/03/2025 12:38

It was way more than just a nice comment back.

She knew these teens ran her fans page and developed a relationship with them.

That would be excusable!
But unfortunately it seems that Meghan and Markus went further than that !
They met these girls, they flew them out to met her , they gave them gifts and presents, they encouraged them to share positive information and to continue running fan sites for Meghan!!
What does that sound like to you?
