Doesn't Trinny have a podcast with this theme?

She's an interesting contrast to M. She's beautiful and has a privileged life but she manages to convey that she works bloody hard to build her business, she shares the less ideal side of herself without oversharing, she is funny and self deprecating and actually seems to like people and is warm.

How can M be claiming to be a business women? Why for the love of God doesn't she understand she needs to do the thing first instead of just self identifying.
It's so embarrassing for her.
Why can't anyone who loves her stop her?
This must all be very difficult for H and her mum to watch her be so derided and not able to intervene because she's so deluded about herself.

How could it possible be a spoof, these are much needed skills, you're failing in life if you're not creating a celebratory ambiance, a ballon pump is optional, although no one like to struggle with inflating, I'd put this as beginners plus as those balloons need to be pumped to a uniform size. Although a sprinkling of dry flowers may cover up any lopsided balloons

Materials needed
Balloons (in your chosen colors)
String or fishing line
Balloon decorating strip (plastic strip with holes for balloons)
Command hooks or stands (to anchor the arch)
Scissors
Optional: Balloon pump (for easier inflation)
Method

  1. Plan your arch by deciding on the size, shape, and color scheme of your balloon arch, considering the event’s theme and the space available.
  2. Inflate balloons using a balloon pump to inflate your balloons to the desired size, ensuring they are consistent for a uniform look.
  3. Prepare the balloon decorating strip by cutting it to the required length and ensure it has evenly spaced holes for attaching the balloons.
  4. Attach balloons to the strip by inserting the tied end of each balloon through the holes in the decorating strip, alternating colors and sizes as needed for a balanced appearance.
  5. Gently bend and shape the balloon strip into the desired arch form, adjusting balloons as necessary for even coverage.
  6. Secure the arch using hooks, tape, or string to securely attach the arch to walls, ceilings, or a freestanding frame.
  7. Position your completed balloon arch in the desired location and enjoy the vibrant, celebratory ambiance it brings to your event.

This isn't even satisfactory instructions.

It misses quite an important part- tying the balloon after inflation.

They can't even get that right.

The legend of aviation !

That was a travesty wasn’t it? I’d forgotten about that. Charities sucking up to them; yuk.

glitterturd · 14/03/2025 09:34

@RecoIIectionsMayVary you are right! Plus make sure size of balloons is consistent ? Any balloon arches I've seen pics of have them i balloons in various sizes 😂 can't believe I am even saying this 😂😂

Balloons are round so there will be gaps. A good balloon arch needs smaller balloons in different shades/colours to fill in said gaps.

As ever it seems a bit amateur hour. Blue Peter did it better!

Edited because lots of random capitals and I have freakish attention to detail 😂

glitterturd · 14/03/2025 09:47

How could anyone take a business podcast by her seriously after this farce ?

as that is manual labour and require less manicured nails, it would be passed to the payed help with the instructions found in manual 2, how to assist your employers quest to nourish their inner host.

glitterturd · 14/03/2025 09:49

The balloons in the show were different sizes 😂

“Why for the love of God doesn't she understand she needs to do the thing first instead of just self identifying?”

Good question. The psychological reason would be that narcissists are imitators at core. They copy other peoples characteristics and attributes, claiming them as their own. They cannot be an “authentic self” I suppose because they don’t really have one. This explains the multiple dizzying identities - that don’t come out of an inner complexity - but more of a fast-moving conveyer belt of different superficial identities and roles; remember her chosen career was an “actress”…

God it’s awful isn’t it?? The bookmark is no longer a swipe, and is hardly visible, no changing the colours or background, hard to read and it only shows new posts in the watching list !!

jeffgoldblum · 14/03/2025 10:06

And of course we now have ads 🤔🙄

BasiliskStare · 14/03/2025 10:15

To be fair , point. 4 . re the balloon arch does say put the tied ends of the balloons through the holes etc. I strive to be fair.

The one which amused me was the dehydrated fruit one , which starts
Equipment - Dehydrator. (Not sure where I've put mine. ) I did in the interests of research look on Amazon and there are smaller models available circa £26 upwards. Storage space per usage though (for those in our " little houses " ) not so sure. What I do think would have been useful is to tell you how to do do it in the oven. I'm sure before Pinterest / Sm there used to be all sorts of things about how to dry fruit for your Christmas wreath* / decorations etc & also how to dry tomatoes.

If the 2nd drop is seasonal I can definitely see the dehydrator making another appearance.

JandamiHash · 14/03/2025 10:16

I’ve figured out who Meghan reminds me of. Anyone seen Bad Teacher? The character of Justin Timberlake and/or Lucy Punch - who also plays Amanda from Motherland

”I just hate slavery so much” 🤣🤣

I totally agree re the swipe. That was so much easier.

Vespanest · 14/03/2025 10:30

What I found interesting in the recipes was what was not there or unless I'm just not seeing it and that's the single skillet pasta. Maybe once you put it in writing there is a duty to see if it needs a credit.

Most air fryers can do dehydration @BasiliskStare, if you have one that is?
but honestly it’s one of those things you think 🤔, oh yes I can do this and that … then you just don’t!

Sometimes it seems as though everyone who's ever written a book or appeared on the telly has their own podcast!

It's a really crowded market and while the most popular podcasters make big money, I imagine that most make very little. You really have to find your niche and make your podcast worth people's time. Simply being 'famous' isn't enough. You have to know what you're talking about, or interview people who know what they're talking about.

Meghan, however, has no expertise in business and we've seen from 'Archetypes' that she is not a good interviewer at all. When we heard she was launching a new podcast I thought it would be connected to the 'lifestyle' theme so she's just muddling her public image with this. It's been done before by people with way more relevant expertise than her, so other than the 'super fans' I don't see what the audience is here.

Agree, and also I’m finding the bookmark isn’t working consistently at actually bringing me back to my bookmarked place. Plus when I refresh the thread it sometimes jumps me back a load of posts!

however for balance I will say I’m enjoying the ability to thank people for posts, quote posts that have already been quoted and vote in AIBU polls.

MaturingCheeseball · 14/03/2025 10:52

Give me some balloons and I can’t resist making rude arrangements. Balloons are just asking for it really!

There are loads of instagram/tiktokky things showing life hacks: I sometimes watch them and think Ooh, yes, I must fold the loo roll like that and do an embossed turned over bit. Of course I never do a single hack because these things just go in one eye (as opposed to an ear)and out the other. I am not a busy person, I just can’t be bothered and there’s important scrolling to be done! My rather laboured point is that a show is a bit passé when you can see all this on your phone.

Blue Peter revisited for rich ladeees who lunch and make podcasts 😁 (V Feltz’s v funny sellotape life hack thing reminded me).

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 14/03/2025 11:11

If anyone watches Twin Talk, they have posted an extract from a podcast by Meghan's fellow Netflix star, the comedian Tim Dillon, who is about to drop his third Netflix special. His observations on MM are brutal, but I think there's some truth there - comics can be great observers of human nature. Basically he thinks MM is driven by hate, that she actually hates all these "friends" and the audience, and, well, everyone; that's why all the criticism she gets bounces off her. Because she hates us all anyway and when her hate meets our (what she perceives as) "hate" (ie justified criticism), it refracts. It doesn't touch her at all. Nothing does, which is why she keeps going when others would crumble. It's an interesting theory. And could account for the hostile feelings people have picked up from MM's demeanour in the show.

I tried Vanessa's sellotape hack with some droopy tulips, and it worked quite well!
