@JandamiHash - Not to mention Harry wanted to make sure the Queen had "the right people around her." . 😂

That was SUCH a patronising comment. The Queen was perhaps the most savvy, experienced woman on the planet when it comes to family and grey suits. As if she needs some narcissistic half wit to tell her who to have around her

MaturingCheeseball · 13/03/2025 10:03

I remember arguing back and forth with a Supporter on here who maintained that it was quite right that Meghan should have been at the deathbed “to support her husband”, regardless of the fact that not only had she slagged off her dh’s family on a world stage but also wanted to pack a Netflix crew into the antechamber.

MN used to have the usual Meghan supporters logging on at the same time and fiercely defending Meghan accusing anyone who didn’t adore her of racism and turning EVERY thread on the RF board into one about structural racism. It was SO boring. Thankfully I haven’t seen them around for a while.

I think those other shows will hang around in the Top Ten awhile. The execrable WLM, not so much.

Yes, as I've been saying all along NF will be interested in overall viewing figures, not in Top Ten appearances.

I'm not sure what the expectations were but I don't think this can count as a huge hit. That said, it's probably cheap to make so it's possible the show will be renewed, perhaps depending on viewing figures for 'part two'. No way will the Sussexes be getting another open ended production deal however.

& I suspect sales of As ever , if they stand to make money out of those , given it is to a large extent an advertisement.

Another example of how deluded he is.

Remember all that Scobie nonsense 🙄

MaturingCheeseball · 13/03/2025 10:37

Ha ha, Omid Scobie. Such a weird choice of mouthpiece, and not the most honest fellow given that he is 10 years older than he claimed to be!

One has definitely been back as they have a very distinctive turn of phrase but they scuttled off .

I occasionally watch Martin decoder on various matters. He strips modern politics, media and celebrities of their various vanities and lies.

Here’s his YouTube video on the Drew Barrymore interview. He really exposes the corruption and vanity of Hollywood, Netflix and all the celebrities who constantly preen and flaunt themselves at us. The early part of the Barrymore interview I hadn’t seen before, and it is very bizarre.

Remember all that Scobie nonsense 🙄

Wasn't Scobie's confidence in reporting as "fact" from his sources proof that MM and possibly H were leaking to Scobie? Clearly the Sussexes were fed a bit info to see if they'd pass it on. Scobie was also all over the "near catastrophic car chase" mere minutes after it had happened.

LaBarruci · 13/03/2025 11:40

Sorry if this has been posted before - I've not read through all the thread - but this article about WLM by the Tatler, who should know about truffle zest and all that kind of thing, came up on my phone notifications. The author has pinpointed the wildly unrealistic aim of attempting to replicate Meghan's dishes, even the rainbow fruit display, at home: https://www.tatler.com/article/tatler-meghan-markles-recipes-netflix-show-with-love-meghan

In pursuit of joy: what happened when Tatler tried recreating Meghan Markle’s recipes from her Netflix show With Love, Meghan

With Love, Meghan promises to help viewers ‘create wonder in every moment’, but what is it really like following the Duchess' hosting style?

MidnightTales · 13/03/2025 11:41

Also, watching Vanessa Feltz’s parody the other day it really struck me that the whole premise of WLM is the rich trad hostess. Very relateable I must say. The rich hostess doesn’t cook as she has chefs and cooks of course. So her only job is basically to meet and greet and supervise the table arrangements. Think Jackie O. Despite MM’s protestations ie boasts - always bragging - of her busy life of back to back meetings, she has the time to do totally pointless nonsense, like put an allergy label on some food she’s giving to her friend who she knows for a fact has not got that allergy 🤷‍♀️. Only someone with completely empty days and not much going on upstairs will spend their time on this kind of stuff eg same with making your own both salts with a dangerous recipe or putting flowers in ice cubes.

Isnt this the issue where Meghan lied in court under oath?

No she lied to the court about collaborating with Scobie on his Finding Freedom book. Think it was about the letter she wrote to her father and some gossip about her half sister..

Not only was his behaviour so terrible that day, his account of it in Spare reveals that even looking back he still thinks he was in the right to speak to KC like that at such a time.

I didn't watch their Netflix documentary nor read the book. But I am interested to know what he said about this in the book. Does he actually say he argued with KC over the phone at the time and confirm that Meghan wanted to go with him?

He stated that the late Queen ‘s coffin was to travel by train back to London .
It wasn’t.

What a truly horrific sight that would have been given she can’t seem to let him take a few steps without holding him up. The arm across the back public display of affection is some of the worst ham acting I’ve ever seen.

I've never thought that NF have any great investment in 'As Ever'.

Note that the only source for this 'partnership' is Meghan herself. NF have never mentioned it. And 'partnership' could mean very little. I suspect it does.

Thedom · 13/03/2025 12:41

its enlightening to re read the extract from Spare.

:"He [Charles] said I was welcome at Balmoral, but he didn’t want… her. He started to lay out his reason, which was nonsensical, and disrespectful, and I wasn’t having it."

"Don’t ever speak about my wife that way."

"He stammered, apologetic, saying he simply didn’t want a lot of people around.
No other wives were coming, Kate wasn’t coming, he said, therefore Meg shouldn’t. Then that’s all you needed to say."."

Kate wasn’t coming .... Then that’s all you needed to say."

Prince Harry first heard of Queen Elizabeth's death from BBC website - BBC News

In Prince Harry's account, he says his father told him not to bring Meghan with explanations that "didn't make any sense, and actually they were disrespectful. I didn't tolerate it".
"Don't even think about speaking about my wife like that," Prince Harry recalls saying to his father.
"Regretful, he stammered that he simply didn't want it to fill up with people. Nobody's wife was going, not even Kate, he told me, so Meg shouldn't either.
"'Then you should have started with that," says Prince Harry's recollection.

Onlyonekenobe · 13/03/2025 12:48

Harry's such a baby. Imagine, your grandmother has died, and your father - with whom you have at best strained relations with - calls you to break the news. It'd be fraught in ordinary circumstances, let alone when said grandmother is the queen and your dad is two second away from being the king. To go there, with a "don't ever speak about my wife that way" at that precise time...unbelievable! So immature, selfish, navel-gazing. What a turnip.

Mayomash · 13/03/2025 12:49

I have always suspected MM has been hunting for investors for As Ever for years - she was not going to risk pouring her own personal cash into it.

Its clear that tno As Ever infrastructure (staff, warehousing, distribution, marketing etc) has even got off the ground as any appointments for COO, CFO etc would have been announced as per Archewell.

I dont understand why As Ever could not just be called WLM - it would make sense from a seamless branding strategy.

I suspect the WLM series was to test the market interest in sales for any As Ever merch - and it looks like NF might stock minimal products via an instore concession stand just to save face.

I dont believe there is any commercial scope for her range of products - few aspire or respect MM as a personal brand - so her products would be expected to be fake, brittle, bitter, dull, beige.

Also a lauch is only one point in a product lifecyle - MM would need to run a weekly IG campaign to keep moving products beyond launch - like Gwyneth.
