It would be nice if he mentioned that his brother William worked for the Air Ambulance Service as a first responder, wouldn't it?.

I was thinking of that quote too ! @JSMill 🤣

Great minds etc! I hope you don't have that song stuck in your head now!

I was watching the pasta recipe in the first episode, thinking it was familiar. It's straight from the Anna Jones cookbook.

Yes that is the only recipe I use from the book!

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 09/03/2025 19:09

To be fair I used to make one pot pasta in my student days in the 80’s. Less washing up. It’s hardly revolutionary.

Im always amazed how the two of them are like Teflon. Nothing really sticks in spite of their awful behaviour.

Baital · 09/03/2025 19:13

But washing up a pasta pan is easy!

Maybe I am defensive because I don't have a one pot pasta dish to my name...

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 09/03/2025 19:20

Oh I know

but I was an exceptionally lazy student. The fact that I fed myself at times instead of living on toast is a miracle in itself 🙊🤣

Why is he there ? In what capacity? He's not a working royal, I don't understand why he is there shaking hands with people who obviously made a great contribution in combating the fires? What did Harry do? He should be honouring them not them being flattered to be photographed with him. He really still does want to be 'royalty' doesn't he? He is beyond awful.

Nothing wrong with toast! Even if you don't elevate it...

Beans on has always been a good one, even if avos were out of reach!

Edited

It's yet another quasi royal event. He loves them.

He wanted out... except he didn't...

Apparently in the Alice Waters episode of WLM, Meghan says something about how people in small London apartments can see her show and aspire for her life in CA. When I read that, I thought of all the people in CA whose houses had burned down. I wonder how many people in the audience looked at Harry and thought the same thing.

Nothing that we didn’t know already but another review. This time New York Magazine:

https://archive.ph/iIQIK

‘The other truth is that With Love, Meghan is an utterly deranged bizarro world voyage into the center of nothing, a fantastical monument to the captivating power of watching one woman decorate a cake with her makeup artist while communicating solely through throw-pillow adages about joy and hospitality. It is painfully defensive. Meghan comes across as constantly worried about what people will think, and because of it, the show can neither flaunt her unusual life, nor can it embrace legitimate ordinariness. It is at once wildly unattainable, like when she describes the joys of sourcing beeswax from your local beekeeper, and mind-bogglingly basic, as in building a whole segment out of arranging fruit in rainbow order. And it is quite, quite sad — a document created by a woman cursed to a life in which even the safest, blandest, emptiest statements somehow boomerang back around toward cuckoo land.’

Golly gosh that must be the worst yet! Short but oh so dismissive 😬

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 09/03/2025 19:34

Whatever the fans say, they most definitely didn’t want out. Just got cross as they were told no. I wonder though if the late queen & now king, had foreseen how things would have turned out, would they still make the same decision. The RF were damned if they did or didn’t.

I think they have both subsequently shown how totally unsuitable they are for public life.

Of course he didn’t and I keep saying this when the Sussex fans try to claim H and M were hounded out / escaped / whatever . The simple fact is that Harry thought the late Queen would agree to half in half out . She didn’t.
And the rest is history.,

As a Londoner (admittedly one who now lives in the burbs), I'm offended by this. Meghan has absolutely missed the point of what makes living in London so great. Her lack of appreciation for Nott Cott based in Kensington Palace in flipping Hyde Park just blows my mind.

I was in Kensington the other day and walked past the scene of Meg's infamous pap walk - Whole Foods. Plenty of people just going about their business. Made me smile.

JSMill · 09/03/2025 19:52

Is that the pap walk where she walked down Kensington High Street wearing a pair of wellies?!!

Mylovelygreendress · 09/03/2025 19:54

A Christopher Wren designed house in one of the best areas of London was fine for William , Catherine and George but not for a woman who had previously only rented a place in Canada !

Bontonbonbon · 09/03/2025 19:54

Ah, yes. The priceless cottage that any Londoner would have chewed their own arm off to have rent free but wasn’t good enough for Meghan.

It was all pretence and ego, wasn’t it. She wanted an estate so she couldn’t appreciate that what she had been given was priceless.

And ensured she entered KP by the public rather than the private entrance .

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 09/03/2025 19:56

Hilarious. Genuinely. Parading through Kensington in brand new Hunter wellies. It's not even raining.

(Added pic, but MN clearly checking it's OK.)

JSMill · 09/03/2025 19:52

Yes, where she claimed she was pursued down the street by members of the public. However, photographic evidence suggests otherwise. Ditto that the publications in the shop all had images of her on the front.

MissRoseDurward · 09/03/2025 19:59

They were (reportedly) offered a country house as a wedding present from the Queen. But I don't suppose she'd have fancied rural Norfolk or Gloucestershire or wherever was suggested.

Yes. Sadly, I couldn't recreate it because I wasn't dressed like I was on a shooting weekend.

MayaKovskaya · 09/03/2025 20:02

A Christopher Wren property in KP, with security and housekeeping services. Not good enough. The plan was for the Gloucesters to move out of their spacious KP apartment to downsize and it was going to be given to H&M, but they didn't want it.
