Where to start on hosting Trump? The thought of his big frame prowling the corridors of Balmoral is not a pleasant one.

I think the Tower of London is officially a Royal Palace @IdaGlossop . Lovely dungeons, I believe. Bigly history.

ETA Americans I've known love the fact Traitors' gate was originally called the Water Gate. Could be part of the tour for DT.

User14March · 28/02/2025 16:34

@IcedPurple no, but she can be ruthlessly ambitious as her trajectory has shown.

Not sure about 'ruthlessly ambitious'. Before snagging Harry, her career highlights were a supporting role in a cable TV drama and a vapid lifestyle blog. Better than most actresses do, sure, but hardly giddy heights for a near 40 year old.

I'm also not sure that a show about drizzling honey on croissants is evidence of ruthless ambition either.

MaturingCheeseball · 28/02/2025 16:43

What on earth is an “upstream solution”? 😂 Who comes up with this twaddle?

User14March · 28/02/2025 16:45

@IcedPurple all true, but it depends on what her overarching goals & ambitions were/are. She wants to ultimately achieve the highest status she can IMO. Time will tell.

So a show about putting flowers in ice cubes is a gateway to high status?

As opposed to being 3rd lady in the realm and hanging out with world leaders at state dinners, which is the life she flounced out of 5 years ago?

Now I am imaging a faux tour inventing historical things & true British things for fun :)

@IcedPurple money & power an ultimate lure, especially if either really diminish, we’ll see.

I'm not sure what you mean.

User14March · 28/02/2025 16:58

@IcedPurple I agree with all you've observed, she wants money and lots of it and to achieve very high status IMO, if she looks like she's really losing at both in long term she'll very possibly move on. We'll find out in time. Maybe she'll put love for family and Harry first.

One person’s twaddle is another person’s “Prince Harry is dropping billionaire mindset wisdom”, I’ll have you know. (Actual quote from a fan…)

That would be great because we know he'd believe anything, especially if told it by a Royal.

"Yes Donald, we're thinking of renaming it "Trump Buckingham Plaza" and replacing the statue of Prince Albert on the Mall with one of you. No trouble at all".

What's your personal opinion of the persistent and consistent testimonies from dozens of victims and witnesses who have experienced and been impacted by Meghan's appalling bullying behaviour over many years - to the point that some have been hounded out of their jobs and ended up needing professional help to alleviate the mental distress she caused, as investigated by numerous and separate respected publications?

This stuff destroys peoples lives and livelihoods - how can you continue to blow smoke up the arse of a bully?

Thanks for just reinforcing my point. Anytjinf other than having the same views as everyone else onto his thread and you get jumped on.

Not true.

I watched it. Said on here I thought she came across ok and natural.
I lived to post again.

Try it.
Tell us what you think.

I have and been labelled a Sussex squad member, a meghan fan and all sorts. The show hasn't aired yet so I cannot comment on it until I see it but nah I won't be back to comment. Already had someone jump on my post so no thanks

But do you feel for the dozens of staff and colleagues who have suffered her bullying @Spectre8 - simple Q?

I wonder if he’ll bring Elon? I hope Kate doesn’t get stuck with him on the walk into the state banquet.

I've always disliked the way Harry acted way more than Meghan so it does make me slightly uneasy that he seems to get away with so much more. Meghan might have been the catalyst but Harry is full of his own venom, he chose to include what he did in spare and he loved the attention it brought him. The only thing Harry got wrong was his family's reaction, he obviously believed is in own hype and believed he held the cards. Meghan is to blame for her own actions but Harry being a prick is totally on him.

Absolutely! I think Meghan gets a lot of totally unfair criticism that should be laid at Harry's door. She has made mistakes of course but she also gets blamed for his and that isn't on.

Uricon2 · 28/02/2025 17:41

@Spectre8 I'm going to watch it and I'm honestly going to try to be objective.

There have been positive threads started by people who approve of M&H and I don't go near them because people have a right to their own opinions and to express them without derail. The reluctance to engage in debate on threads that criticise them is IMO in very large part due to the baseless accusations of racism which get thrown in sooner or later and I for one am heartily sick of (and I really doubt I'm alone) I think much of what you may see as defensiveness stems from that, which lots of us have experienced. It is not pleasant and in another league to the usual "forelock tugging, sycophantic peasants fawning over the Royals" (&c, &c)

I really feel that if people who think we're unfair to Meghan really read these threads they would realise they are very far from the "Our Darling Prince Harry Fan Club" and he gets quite as much flak, sometimes rather more, as he should.

I'm trying to remember from last time but I suspect that palace protocol will withstand Elon.

Well - Elon wasn’t on the scene last time - the whole family came even Tiffany who rarely goes to family events and the rest were cabinet members. They possibly could include Elon as head of a department. I’m sure he’d love to go.

That's true. Hopefully he won't be in favour by the time the visit happens.

Just watched the sneek peek.

I thought the conversation with the chef was very natural and quite endearing. The bit with her friends and coming out of a door saying let's go felt much more stilted and staged.

I hope the final product has more of the former than the latter. It was much better than the trailer though, far less artificial and Meghan looked comfortable chatting with Chef Choi.

I think there is no room for 2 egos the size of his and Trumps on the planet, rather than just London, so hoping you're right.

I agree - I’ve already said on this thread that I thought the sneak peek was fine and the chef chat quite cute.

When it comes to criticism of Meghan (and the royals) I find it irritating to read posts at either end of the spectrum.

The gushy - everything she does is perfect and you are all just racist haters - posts and the critical - everything she does, wears, says is terrible - posts are just as bad as each other to me.

She has done some things which deserve criticsm but she’s also been accused of some really crazy stuff which must be hard to take.

Yes and the comments underneath are awful. None of them are responding to the content just to preconceived ideas about her.

If she can see where she is natural she can lean into that. If I were her I'd ditch the famous friends scenes and leave Harry out all together. Her cooking with experts comes across well.
