I think initially they will have felt that letting the plebs see their home was beneath them, as well as Harry's security paranoia. But I think perhaps Meghan has realised that by letting people see snippets of their real home/garden (if it even is) she is then able to build a following on Instagram. I think it had probably dawned on she can't be completely private and rely on people to be interested. No one is interested in her tea party ideas, absolutely no one. Some people are interested enough in her, as a figure of notoriety, to watch - even if only something to laugh and gossip. But a great number more could be persuaded to watch/follow her if they are getting a bit of a gander at their genuine home. So its a case of needs must, if she can't or won't live without public attention.. she's going to have to lower their boundaries on privacy. Personally I don't think she's bothered about privacy, that's all Harry, I think she does enjoy the power, control and mystique that she feels comes from withholding any images/details on their life.
I respect people who care about their children's privacy but there is something off about how the kids faces have never been seen, do they never take them anywhere?! The other royal children are seen, A listers children are seen. I think its a weilding of power on her part, most likely aimed towards their estranged families. And also probably currency/leverage for the future in case everything continues to flop and she has to fall back on some kind of reality TV show about their life, as a last resort.
