I noticed the old thread is almost full so thought we could start a new one to carry on the discussion about the rebrand and merching.

Are you an ‘As Ever’ or ‘Whatever’?

We will need a bingo card for the watch along - random and pointless appearance by Harry should definitely be on it, plus reference to "my husband", the hand framing face gesture, back view / partly obscured shot of a child, chickens, dogs, outfit change, mention of "my home state California" or "my neighbourhood", bare shoulders, jam, effusive hugging, not so subtle reference to being an amazing mother, crisp white shirt, throwing shade at the Waleses, what else?

Hints about how 'I'm so happy to get back to who I truly am' because 'the palace' was so intimidated by a duchess putting flowers into ice cubes.

I often wonder if Oprah is annoyed about all the lies Megan told. Once the truths came out it made Oprah look naive and unprofessional as an interviewer. I know she must have made a fortune out of it. Ultimately though I think it did her professional reputation absolutely no good at all. The way she swallowed it all unquestioningly. Embarrassing

I thought she was quite the racist. To sit there and listen to tripe being dished up with race being the very essence of it she was nothing but a racist herself to not question it.

I'm waiting to see the tomato ladybirds, a culinary triumph that make my efforts looks like something produced by a collaboration between Gordon Ramsay and Raymond Blanc.

The use of the word ‘elevate’.
Clapping herself.
Putting mint on something.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/02/2025 17:58

WME are a talent agency, not a PR firm

Ah, fair enough, @IcedPurple and @IdaGlossop; I definitely recall PPs asking why they hadn't stopped negative articles, but it seems we've all made the same mistake Blush

NormaMajors1992coat · 22/02/2025 18:04

Oh clapping herself is a good one. Likewise "lens".

They look like something my children make seasonally at nursey school alongside the chocolate crispi / mini egg nest.

Off screen Harry appearances.

Her business won’t launch until months after the show!

Page six:

‘Sources told us that the As Ever lifestyle products won’t be ready for sale until a few months after the show’s launch.
As Page Six previously revealed, the mom-of-two has teamed up with Netflix to sell her products. Contrary to reports, we are told there won’t be any pop-up installations or branded cafes at malls across the country.’

Edited

I wonder if they are trying to get investors on board? I doubt that H&M are stumping up their own personl cash or mortgaging the mansion.

I wonder if they need to prove the level of interest via the NF programme to secure backers?

Its bizarre that there are no products ready to go - they have been working on this initiative for years - or could there be a warehouse somewhere full of dusty jars of jam and dog biscuits waiting the trade mark issues to be resolved?

Yes, the disembodied Brit voice that we KNOW is Harry. Coyness ensues.

If Oprah did know what a fraud she is and allowed the interview to go ahead, she was taking quite a risk with her reputation. She didn't need the money. I maintain she was conned by Meghan. A possible scenario is that she was keen to do the interview as a route to other royals, the themes for the content were agreed by staff on both sides, Oprah thought during the rehearsal that she'd got a scoop with the racism story, then the penny dropped during the recorded interview, based on the passport and real wedding ceremony details.

I would love to see Oprah interviewed by a real professional on how she views it all in hindsight

What’s with the dripping honey onto a croissant, is that a thing? I do put jam (aargh) inside sometimes but I’ve never come across dripping honey on the top of one.

OW had been sniffing around this commercial opportunity for years and is still keeping her prospects warm and options open for the next big one probs post divorce.

I think initially OW basked in the glory of the scoop - but she soon changed her tune after the death of QEII.....when the next morning she set up an extraordinary exclusive interview with Gayle King to discuss 'the bombshell interview' and expressed her faux concern and shock at how it had 'unexpectedly' evolved.

She basically at that moment, when the world was praising QEII, covering her tracks/arse as she didnt want to be on the wrong side of history. She was insuring that she was personally absolving herself of any of the content. OW is always out for her own commerical interests. She has zero personal interest in H&M or QEII.

He might not have even been there, it could easily have been dubbed in (or AI!) I mean he couldn’t have been doing the recording or it would have been his face on screen wouldn’t it, being a phone and not a camcorder.

Agreed, dripping honey on to the exterior of a croissant from a yard above puzzled me very greatly.

Maybe appropriate kitchenware in the form of a knife to cut said croissant is in limbo with the dog biscuits and jam.

ETA it was more pouring than dripping, really.

MovingSwiftlyOn · 22/02/2025 18:38

I'm wondering if there's actually no intention to launch a business at all. If she knows her show is going to be a massive flop perhaps she's thinking she can bury the ARO debacle along with it, then if NF don't renew their contract then the whole sorry saga will just fade from the collective memory. (At least that could be the hope)

BorneoBop · 22/02/2025 18:40

FromThePrismOfJammyTodger · 22/02/2025 11:31

It's hilarious to me that some posters on here can't even bring themselves to acknowledge she's a hustler if the positive view of that is posed.
She's a shameless hustler who is still hustling.
She's spectacularly messed it up yet she's still trying, that is an unusual characteristic worthy of note.

She's doing the same stupid things over and over again, getting the same shit result and expecting praise for it. That's not admirable. That's a form of narcissism.

Delusional and grandiose.....As Ever

BasiliskStare · 22/02/2025 18:44

Well (whispers) I quite like ladybird canapés . I know they are not original but I think quite cute. I am disappointed that she has not elevated at least a few by cutting the tomato in half so it looks like the wings. Also of all the versions I've seen over the years hers just look too big and clumsy and a nightmare to eat. IMHO they should be popping in the mouth whole size.

I know she's going for this not perfect , have to get it wrong to get it right thing going on but even so.

So @BorneoBop and @Uricon2 - I'm absolutely with you on the execution.

😀🐞

Then we might be able to watch the rest of it. I think hard liquor will definitely be required.

Uricon2 · 22/02/2025 18:56

I think a programme about genuine short cuts, how to make things that are nice simply, easy meals everyone likes etc could in the right hands be good. Faffing around with tomatoes and spreading bagels with the infamous jam, not so much. It makes Pippa Middleton's widely mocked entertaining book look as if written by Mrs Beeton.

I think the problem is that she is going with a "concept" but not able to back it up with enough cooking ability.

PS that vase with the lemons continues to annoy me mightily, I still hope they weren't real and thus what my Nan would have called a "wicked waste of food"

BasiliskStare · 22/02/2025 18:58

@Uricon2 I think they are stunt lemons
