She probably knew what a wanker Harry was.

Surely not her favourite grandchild, the only one who knew who the right people around her should be??!!

(Yeah, you're right).

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 17/02/2025 08:02

Would she have realised? Honest question as she didn’t realise or had a blind spot to Andrew so I’m not sure she’d have realised what a tool Harry was tbh.

I seem to remember reading somewhere years ago that PM didn’t like Diana which if true has probably skewed Harry’s view of PM.

FromThePrismOfJammyTodger · 17/02/2025 08:43

I doubt much got past her, @WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout . But she was stuck with the family she had, and had to balance this with her duties to the institution and the knock on effect on the country.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 17/02/2025 08:43

Very true.

PM lived in Kensington Palace and saw a lot of Diana’s activities which - apparently- left her unimpressed .
Given Margaret’s shenanigans when she was younger it seems a bit hypocritical however PM loved her sister and if was said that she was angry it caused The Queen so much distress.

Treeleaf11 · 17/02/2025 08:57

Harrys comments about Margaret seem typical for him. Throwaway nasty unnecessary digs about a long dead relation who died when he was a child and who he would have barely known. They weren't needed for the book and would have hurt her children and QE2 if should had lived to read them.

Margaret and Diana got on very well at first. They had a shared interest in fashion and celebrities, and Margaret approved of Diana's impeccable aristocratic lineage. However, she was horrified by the Andrew Morton book and the BBC interview. For all Margaret's shenanigans, she remained very loyal to her sister and would never have washed the family's dirty linen in public.

I am just a tad uneasy about that .

why uneasy? most families travel together or are they so important it would upset you more than the common plebs dying?
I agree it would be pretty entertaining if they all got wiped out ( and possibly bring about the end of the whole shitshow- now that would be a result)

Ohpleeeease · 17/02/2025 09:05

PM was a fascinating character, very complicated. I think if the way she conducted herself was being viewed through today’s lens she would be the subject of many threads!

MaturingCheeseball · 17/02/2025 09:10

@Mightymoog - is your favourite film King Ralph? I suppose you hope to see Queen Meghan finally in her rightful place…..Can you imagine the run on tomatoes for the Coronation procession?

Never seen it so I'm afraid i don't understand the tomato comment.
And no, I don't want any of them to be king/ queen/ princess/ whatever ridiculous fairytale title that we're paying for.

Mightymoog · 17/02/2025 09:15

In fact, it's a bit strange that when slagging off the RF a lot of people assume that means you are somehow in favour of Ginge and Whinge taking their positions.
I think it more likely that people who detest the concept of the monarchy detest the thought of anyone being part of it

May I kindly suggest we not indulge the very tedious derailing effort?

Entertaining ?
Speechless.

A frankly disgusting, tedious derailing effort. These gleeful posts about a family possibly dying is beneath MN.

Mylovelygreendress · 17/02/2025 09:25

Apologies for my part in the derailment.

The Queen died in 2022, Harry’s book was published early 2023. Unless Harry wrote or said that earlier?

The book was published in early Feb - or possibly late Jan. The Queen died in early September. Harry must have already have been working on it by then.

The book was FINISHED by the time of the Queen's death, because it was widely reported that Harry tried to make amendments to what he'd said, in light of her death and his worries about how what he'd said would be received. The publisher said no, it was too late in the process to make any changes.

how lovely ! You would be happy to see an innocent family wiped out along with the rest of the crew and passengers for your entertainment.
WOW. There aren't enough words in the English language to cover the kind of person who thinks like that..

ThePoshUns · 17/02/2025 09:35

Agree. A new low on these threads @Mightymoog .

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 17/02/2025 09:53

And on we move.

New story on Instagram.

'so proud of you' and a picture of Harry and then clapping.

So not proud of those who, to quote Harry's crass term have been 'blown up '?

MissFenellaPrism · 17/02/2025 09:59

It's the love bombing though, isn't it? The clear demonstrations of physical affection, the Valentine' "thank you for being you".
It's not a thank you to those who organised Invictus or arranged for Harry to be patron, or for all the work and involvement of others.
It's about Harry and his privilege being sustained. Very important.
