I think the reason Meghan gets the biggest share of the negativity pie is because we all know that Harry will come back home one day when the Dim&Sparkles show is over. Even after all he has done to his family i think the Great British public would welcome him home as long as he lived behind a high hedge and became a recluse. There are very very few that would welcome MEagain back to these shores. She is not one of us, she was welcomed with open arms and hearts by the British public but she grabbed what she could, lied, insulted our elderly Queen, stuck 2 fingers up at us and pissed us right off and we will never forgive or forget.

My patience wore thin when Meghan suggested, to Oprah while squatting in her chicken coop, that the c.£45 million wedding was just for show and that the actual wedding had taken place in their 'back yard' (I am mean so enjoy imagining this as a nine-yard square piece of pitted asphalt between an off-shot scullery and an outside loo behind a meagre Victorian terrace, not the Nott Cott tended lawn I know it to be). At a stroke, she had insulted a population of 68 million people. To be able to flaunt herself without a qualm, as she now does, shows us that the wiring in her brain is seriously awry.

A reminder of that grandiose statement.

I find the line "It is with your encouragment that we felt able to...." - totally bizarre. Who are they referring to - some random anonymous SM posters?

MissRoseDurward · 20/02/2025 21:02

At a stroke, she had insulted a population of 68 million people.

And the Archbishop of Canterbury. And the Head of the Church of England.

How did she think she would get away with it? Did she think her remarks wouldn't be reported back in the UK?

And saying something which could immediately be shown to be false cast doubt on everything else she said.

half a brain cell could

BasiliskStare · 20/02/2025 20:38

Wasn't that grandiose statement rushed out before they agreed this with the Queen ? Publicising things before dotting the i s and crossing the t s. As Ever

If i remember correctly, H and M went to Canada for a break from the beastly U.K. spoke to Charles who told them to put their proposals in writing so they tried to set up a meeting with The Queen who said he had to speak to his father .
Harry then accused the men in suits of blocking access to HM so they issued the statement fully expecting HM to say “ of course Harry whatever you want “.
Big mistake.

Same here, why on earth didn't Harry correct her 1) it was untrue and 2) a massive insult to the British public

TheMeasure · 20/02/2025 21:06

I wonder if Harry is now beginning to understand the Palace's strategy of keeping the media onside (by doing what Harry believed to be 'deals with the devil')? Look what happens when you piss them off, H!

Meghan is very Mean Girl.

Meghan is very Mean Girl.

Thank-you. I am taking that to mean meaner than me 😊

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/02/2025 21:22

Like many it was the grandiose Sussex Royal statement that first made me go WTF?

I for one would not welcome Harry back. I feel that the country can manage without his entitled, whining victim hood.

He’s scared of her. He never ever disagrees with her .

KingTutting · 20/02/2025 21:28

Meghan gets all the heat as we all know Harry is too thick to have done this on his own. If he hadn’t met her. He would still be mucking about and trotting after W&C and actually probably making a good job of Invictus. Unlike now.

OMG ! < checks stocks of popcorn and wine>

Isn’t Marca the employer of the Spanish journalist that said she had inside knowledge that Kate was in a coma last year?

its a gossip rag.

I've seen it in a few different publications (via that Windows newsfeed thingy) but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were just copying whichever one wrote it first.

It sounds like nonsense.

Marca is the best selling daily sports newspaper in Spain.

Jacquettes · 20/02/2025 22:44

Good to know Iced Purple, but it also seems to publish a lot of gossip. Or is there a Spanish paper with a similar name that does so?

Marca is a well respected sport, primarily football, paper. It has an English language version too.

I'd be very surprised if it peddles gossip about exiled British royals.

Jacquettes · 20/02/2025 22:51

Marca just reported the Spanish journalist’s assertions - in quite a bit of detailMarca

Jacquettes · 20/02/2025 22:56

Marca gossiped about Meghan, as someone linked to - a couple pages.

AndThereSheGoes · 20/02/2025 23:02

Can anyone tell me why she has chosen jam ( high sugar and very basic) as her product.

Does she do clothes or hair/skin products? Surely that would be the way forward. These can be marketed as high end and she clearly knows more about them then scoffing jam.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 20/02/2025 23:10

@AndThereSheGoes because, and to quote

'everyone knows that jam is my jam'

StartupRepair · 20/02/2025 23:19

And American women are just looking for ways to include more sugar in their diets.
This is absolutely where the food zeitgeist is right now.

BasiliskStare · 20/02/2025 23:19

@AndThereSheGoes Does she do clothes or hair/skin products?

Well at the moment she has no products at all for sale 😊

Not sure about why jam though tbh

AndThereSheGoes · 20/02/2025 23:26

@RecoIIectionsMayVary yep. Same old problem then. As if anyone believes jam is an essential part of her diet.
Oh it's because it's part if the whole very British scone thing isn't it!
She should do make up, hair or lovely shoes which she does well. But no, some jam bollocks

Authentic she is not

Vespanest · 20/02/2025 23:35

I do think the jam suited the ARO marketing, extortionate price for those with more money than sense, jam locally sourced touched by royalty, for display purposes only. Not so much for a Netflix brand, more massed produced and going for a market willing to pay a bit more for a product not quite as unique or under the fanfare as the instagram 50 jams

BemusedAmerican · 21/02/2025 01:52

Jam seems more of a UK food. We don't spread it between cake layers and on the rare occasion I order a scone, it is usually savory. The jelly eaten in P&B sandwiches is grape.
