@Ohpleeeease I thought so too. I was already softening up to her after we saw how awful her mum was in series 3.

NormaMajors1992coat · 18/02/2025 09:52

Hopefully she is taking some business advice on board and is not going down the usual 'I know best' route with this one. Time will tell.

Well it has to be said, it doesn't look like it so far 🫣

Umm copying other things again?

I think she looks drawn and exhausted as though all that manic energy is burning her out, on the edge almost.

Well, she's 43 now, and very thin and low body fat generally = looking older. I notice she's had some filler put in her cheeks (that little dimple at the outside of the lower eye/upper cheek area is a giveaway).

Also, she must've had a pretty stressful time recently with the imminent launch of her TV show and ARO rebrand, and the relentless barrage of negative press aimed at her. First there was the Hollywood Reporter, then The Cut, and finally that huge VF article in December. Surely even the most teflon-coated person would surely find being on the receiving end of that quite hard to live with?

I think if they do involve the children in any commercial way, it would be (another) huge misstep. It goes against everything they've said or done so far regarding protecting their privacy and that won't escape comment.

Also, I honestly don't think the children are going to generate that much interest. I'm sure they are absolutely lovely, but there have only been tiny glimpses (which was a perfectly valid choice by M&H) unlike the Wales kids, where there is still limited exposure but we've seen them grow up so far and there is a bit of investment in them, as there was with William and Harry when little.

"Ta dah! We've changed out minds, here are our kids and we're using them to flog jam (or whatever)" would be a really bad look and appear cynical, because it would be cynical.

Happy to be wrong if they don't go down this path.

I’m not sure they are that lovely, or we would definitely have seen more of them. From the few photos I’ve seen I think they’re probably like most people’s kids, special to them and pretty ordinary to everyone else.

we have L***t’s Closet to look forward to remember. And actually a high end baby line could be quite a money spinner.

She doesn’t help herself though, does she?

MrsLeonFarrell · 18/02/2025 10:15

I'm not sure her goods will have longevity. Her committed supporters will buy things, how many units will that shift, though? Others might buy for curiosity or gag gifts but that isn't sustainable either. She needs to be selling some seriously high quality, good value items for it to take off in the way she hopes.

Stickystickysticky · 18/02/2025 10:17

It just seems such an amateurish way to launch a new brand.

Oh yeah, didn’t Harry say she can sew her own clothes?

I don't see how this relates to the brand, obviously copied but just seems a bit random to me.

Yes, he did. He's said a lot of things. Most of them bollix.

JSMill · 18/02/2025 10:22

No she doesn't help herself. I am sure she could afford to take some time off for a while and look after herself. Did she you need to thrive not just survive? I suspect she desperately needs to demonstrate she can be a success away from the RF, therefore proving the problem was the RF and the racist UK, not her.

Thedom · 18/02/2025 10:29

If, as is rumoured, Netflix are the investors in the product lines, would that indicate there will be more than 1 series of her show?

cheezncrackers · 18/02/2025 10:29

Upsidedownimturningit · 18/02/2025 10:09

She doesn’t help herself though, does she?

No, absolutely not! But if I was doing all that while having really, really damaging things written about me, I think I'd find that very stressful.

Of course, being bullied by your boss is also really, really stressful, so ...

Ohpleeeease · 18/02/2025 10:30

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 18/02/2025 10:20

I think he said something like, was she expected to make her own clothes, when challenged on her expenditure (but I could be wrong, often am!)

The trouble is, it’s a kitchen table enterprise that needs to grow organically to succeed. Exploding onto the market isn’t how these businesses develop.

I don't think so- the netflix stores are all about short term hype- think stranger things, I haven't seen a ST hoodie for ages. But come the new season they will be everywhere again.

It is everything they say they are against- fast consumerism.

I'm surprised she didn't do the twin palm trees, which would at least refer back to their mummy and daddy palms in their garden (another one of Archie's precocious utterances iirc).

Maybe it's just Meghan alone, a single palm tree, and Lili and Archie are the two hummingbirds?

I find this so depressing. L gets a clothing range but the boy gets charitable endeavours. I'm disappointed with this sexist crap.

Oooooh.

MissFenellaPrism · 18/02/2025 10:33

Now, Jammie, you could be on to something.
What about all the ridiculous demonstrative kissing etc though?

Maybe Harry/RF is the darkness that only the Meghan tree and the hummingbirds can break through?

True. These are people who set store on status, privilege and hierarchy. They're not suddenly going to go all feminist and equitable.

I'm going to take a wild guess here, but Netflix and H&M already have this big deal right, that runs until Sept this year. ARO was dead in the water, MM couldn't find a CEO (no doubt because the word is out everywhere that she's a complete nightmare to work with), so she was being CEO herself and she has no fucking idea what being a CEO entails. So Netflix were already committed to doing the lifestyle show and had no doubt already sunk a ton of money into it and ARO was supposed to be flogging goods off the back of the show. So Netflix was already connected to the With Love Meghan/ARO concept and they're opening two stores in malls in the US that will sell products from shows that Netflix produces. I suspect they thought 'You know what, we're already connected to this shitshow, she has NO IDEA what she's doing, and if by some miracle any of this appeals we'll get a cut on the products she sells if we go into business with her'. And that's it. Amen. No way will Netflix commit to a second series of the show unless the first one is a success.

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2025 10:36

Either she never checks , or she's aware that almost all her ideas are knicked from someone else!
Half her inspirational speeches and quotes have been copied too , and most shockingly her upsetting story about her miscarriage was also an almost word for word copy from another woman's book !
This is the point , yet another "new idea" that isn't!
