It's really sad when two people bring out the worst in each other, as Meghan and Harry seem to do. What I see having happened is that Harry was lost, Meghan came along and was assertive (lover/mother combo), Harry happily followed her lead (to California), she didn't actually know what she was doing because she had over-reached herself, Harry couldn't take the lead instead because he doesn't know how to = massive mess.

ARO's new name is As Ever. Very odd. Eg As Ever Strawberry jam, As Ever Dog biscuits.

Wow, I listened to the podcast with Ashley Hansen.

Sounds like she was completely depressed and burnt out working for Meghan. That’s why she left Archewell and set up her own business.

She says she’s a complete people pleaser who lost her identity, so you can just imagine how she would get chewed up in Meghans world. She was talking in general terms, but was saying she would never speak up, never voiced her opinion, didn’t look after herself, never switched off and was always trying to help others. I can’t see now how she was one of the few that lasted so long, because she didn’t have the tools to stand up for herself and was buried by them.
Shes desperate to still be the nice one and people please, so she is still consulting for Archewell, even though you can see that’s what caused her mental health to deteriorate.

She did the Hoffman process? It’s a retreat for those struggling I think. And after that decided to leave Archewell and set up her own business. Sounds like she’s still depressed though, she talks about her average day and it seems like she needs to sleep a lot.

She also says she has clients in the UK, which seems a tad strange. Wonder who they are and why they would be working with someone based in California?

I found it quite a difficult thing to listen to. She sounded broken and subdued by the experience of working for them. I felt a bit irritated by her defence of them but I think she’s someone who tries to see the best in people. Her description of the male boss who let her down and then chided her for expecting him to fulfil his commitment was very sad. It explains why she had such low expectations in terms of how she should be treated. Poor Ashley.

People are assuming she is one of the employees who spoke to VF anonymously, but VF specifically said it was a Spotify employee who left and needed therapy, so not her, but she appears to be another victim .

There is absolutely no way she could have said anything overtly negative about them in that podcast, she will have a really tight NDA, so I can see why she tried to throw in a red herring by appearing to defend them, but it's all there.

She is a PR professional and considering she ran a war room on behalf of Meghan and Harry to try to bury and offset any criticism of them, she would absolutely know how what she disclosed would be interpreted and could be misinterpreted. I think she wants it out there.

Where is @GiveMeSpanakopita, would love her insight on this, although it's a tortuous listen.

It is odd choice of name if it is real

As ever crap
As ever copied
As ever without a clue
As ever overpriced Jam

It just leads to using it in other ways.

Buying power is a massive issue. There was a great post on an earlier thread about mid-west moms who control family finances. So many of the people with actual buying power have been put off them. There is a marked difference between being fascinated and buying products.
I could have been there market, their wedding was the first time I had really been interested, I had a party and everything. I wanted them to be a breath of fresh air.

ARO's new name is As Ever

I think it's been said that might be someone running a spoof @IdaGlossop?

Besides, if Meghan had decided to rename it herself, surely there'd have been an announcement with lots of "friends" congratulating her on the "brilliant new venture"?

If it is a spoof, it's quite an elaborate one - logo, namestyle, copyright application. We'll have to wait and see!

Serenster · 17/02/2025 19:07

So it’s not been a year yet and so far we’ve had as Meghan’s lifestyle branding:

American Riviera Orchard
With Love, Meghan
As Ever

Is she being advised by Apprentice candidates? Because rolling out three different and potentially competing brands for the same thing in this time frame is just ridiculously incompetent.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/02/2025 19:11

Hang on, @IdaGlossop, I hadn't twigged there's been a copyright application for this Confused

Though if it really is legit it seems odd to have just rolled it out without the usual fanfare ...

"Our team name is Degenerate" 🙄

Are we sure As Ever is genuine ? Just looked at the photo and it looks like Meghan has very long fingers !?

Wow, I just looked too. Maybe it’s fan AI art? But the trademark applications appear to be genuine.

Uricon2 · 17/02/2025 19:41

Another day, more inexplicable weirdness 😂.

I know nothing about copyright law but is it even possible to trademark etc something like "As Ever"? Perhaps "As Ever, Meghan" might be different.

Go the whole hog and use "The Wonderful, Aspirational Lifestyle Site of Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex"

I' ve seen a couple of the pictures, one has the words covering her face and another has the words so that you can see her face. If it is genuine then someone hasn't done a very good job tidying up her hair or making sure she doesn't look like ET (she had a very very long finger)

Mylovelygreendress · 17/02/2025 20:11

I was thinking that it is coming up to a year since ARO was launched . Do you think it will be marked in some way ?
Maybe a pot of jam ?

myrtleWilson · 17/02/2025 20:31

What on earth is the finger/stick of rhubarb on that photo (not the super extending one, the one that looks like its dripping)

I agree . I think the problem they have with Netflix now is that M has completely over estimated her talent for producing content if it's not gossip / trashing the BRF , and also I think if it's not stories about the RF she has also overestimated the heavy lifting their titles can do on their own. (to be fair I think Netflix but have overestimated these as well .) Harry had never had to earn a living in his life and I think just believed her hype.

I think it will be very bad news for them if Love Meghan is not a success and I also think as others have said she doesn't have the stature to be selling eg jam at ridiculously inflated prices & if it's just mass produced badged stuff then the amounts she will have to shift will be enormous . Bonne Maman sell millions of jars each year and really popular in France (and the US apparently. ) In my little local Tesco it is £3.80. It really will have to be good to charge a premium price or Meghan will have to be a whole lot more popular to be way more expensive than that (I would have thought) (Disclaimer - what I know about commercially producing jam is is the square root of F all 😂)

Sorry, being a bit dense here. How do you know it’s legit, and if it’s legit why has it been taken down?
