Look, I am not saying her speech isn’t cringey or self-referential, but I wouldn’t necessarily trust anything that is put out about her now, because there is a set narrative that is not unbiased.

Also, I query whether she deserves this level of scrutiny? She is not a war criminal or a politician with evil intent. She’s a minor celebrity making a cringey speech at a charity event fhs! I think the level of vitriol aimed at her is out of all proportion to what she has supposedly done. There are a million self reverential celebrities out there! That is literally the world she grew up in!

Also, we know from recent history, that once someone dares to leaves the RF, the wagons circle those in the innermost circle to protect the status quo and the “friends of” the establishment brief and leak against those who have left. It’s how they ensure loyalty and compliance! And how they maintain privilege.

Are people really naieve enough to think that the RF is not all about serving themselves as much as it is about serving us?

Each to their own, but I feel uneasy contributing to the “noise” against H & M when it seems excessive and I am doubting the motivation behind it. Especially when I think there are far more important issues worth observing that relate to the RF themselves eg tax avoidance, parliamentary lobbying and special privileges.

Not sure how true this is but apparently they are heading off to Tyler Perry’s island retreat for a well earned rest after Invictus….. I am somewhat impressed they haven’t brought the children to Invictus as I was half expecting them to as it would divert attention from all the bad press they have been having but it is only a matter of time, Meghan shoehornes them into her ridiculous speeches at every available opportunity so maybe Birmingham will be the big reveal.

Why did Gavin Newsom stand up in front of a press core and defend Archewell's work and their tardiness in filing their tax returns? Why is she being given a guided tour around burned out houses by the mayor and fire chiefs of California as if she is a visiting grandee? If she is merely a minor celebrity, then why is she afforded all this high level access and influence? And, as she has been afforded this influence, why is she immune to scrutiny when she takes advantage of it? And if she is merely a minor celebrity, who basically lives her life for column inches in the gutter press, then why are you hand-wringing about what is written about her? Surely MM will be delighted she hasn't been forgotten?

I think it’s a legitimate stance to look at the reasons behind why H & M are attracting such a high level of vitriol.

They would say presumably that they are not making it about them, but are getting the most publicity they can for a very worthwhile cause?

Also, I think it’s legitimate to look at whether it is in some people’s interests to separate Harry from Invictus by making such a deliberate fuss and negative noise about H&M , that their support for the charity is compromised, and they are then asked, or volunteer, to step down to avoid further negative press.

I don’t think it completely out of the bounds of reality to conclude that that is the motivation of some posters here, and that it’s the deliberate motivation of some news broadcasters, and of some members of the establishment.

Also, I don’t think it’s fair to just focus on H & M’s activities without applying the same levels of criticism and scrutiny to the RF as a whole.

Nope. I have formed my opinion on the Sussex couple based on their behaviour. I have a degree in Medieval History and know all about source materials and reliability.
I have read "Spare" I have watched, and read, interviews with them. I have been able to reach a supported judgement on their behaviour and chosen lifestyle.
Oh, and I don't read the Murdoch press, nor the tabloids. I am aware of bias in the media.

Three outfit changes in the first day, a speech largely referencing yourself, indulging in lots of pda with your spouse and an instagram reel featuring yourself interacting with lots of unnamed props (sorry, competititors) isn’t saying “I’m looking to get publicity for the stories of the injured soldiers participating at Invictus and how the organisation is helping them” though, is it?

If that was your aim, there are plenty of things you could do.
