With this new authentic Insta post where Meghan positions herself as a go between in securing some signed merchandise I think there's still plenty to discuss.
This is a new image. No make up. Carefully edited insta. New lips. Is this influencer territory? Mention of " my husband and l " Echoes of the Queen ?

Have they made Eton mess on bagels. How very transatlantic.

I think that was probably strawberry cream cheese.

Thank you @veraswaistcoat , I hadn't seen the pic of Archie. Your other photo isn't showing for me; but I did see that ring elsewhere on SM, with her "royal" insignia on it. So Lil is being hinted at too, I assume. It's building up to the big reveal and full monetisation of those kids, isn't it.

BemusedAmerican · 15/02/2025 00:26

Try a toasted chocolate chip bagel with lots of salted butter. They are great if high quality chocolate is used for the chips.

Well, it’s certainly looking like she is moving things up a gear.

I’m assuming Harry is fully on board with this, what with the couple’s recent display of ‘loves young dream’, gushing words and everything looking all ‘salt and pepper’ (🤔)

Oh, I do hope this is true 😂! I saw her crest on her website, but this is even better......

Those kids are going to grow up knowing that their mother monetised their childhood memories for money.

This is just the beginning I fear.

There's an article about it in British Vogue dated 13 Feb, entitled, "The Deeper Meaning Behind Meghan Markle's New signet Ring". From the article:

Yet perhaps the most interesting element of this new addition to Meghan’s jewellery box is that it’s been engraved with her and Harry’s royal cipher. Featuring a cursive ‘HM’ with a coronet above it, the couple’s royal monogram was designed following their marriage in 2018, and is used on all of their official correspondence. Her decision to wear it prominently could be interpreted as Meghan’s way of signalling that she is still a member of the royal family, and proudly so. Or as a not so subtle way of telling naysayers (like those commentators who insisted she and Harry shouldn’t use their royal titles post-Megxit) that she doesn’t care what they think.

Hopingandhoping · 15/02/2025 07:23

All celebrities/royals monetise their children one way or another whether for money or good publicity. Finding fault in something someone does just because you don't like them doesn't really put posters in a good light.

I'm waiting for all the excuses. That they never said they wanted privacy for the children, and that the press are the ones who made that up.

MissFenellaPrism · 15/02/2025 07:29

No, not all celebrities/ royals monetise their children, @Hopingandhoping . Far from it. Most put in very firm boundaries and protection. I can think of many whose children we know nothing of.
However, there has been nothing so far from the Royal Sussexes about their children, this may not happen. They're just merching their own lives at this point.

...it was all made up by the British Press!
Or, the Royal Family. Or the Phantom of the Opera. Never, ever themselves.

You just have to look at the difference in the amount of likes on the Wales' Instagram.

Latest picture of Kate and Wills 360k
Picture of kids at the carol service ...1 million

Picture of Wills using a film camera at bafta 57k
Picture of kids facing away in England shirts 1.6million

Picture of them as a family 680k.

It's the KIDS, the Catherine then Wills that are popular.

I think you vastly overestimate the interest the public has in other people's children.

Kids are just kids. Fascinating to their parents but not to anyone else. 'Celebrity children' are no cuter than little Hugo or Ava down the road. The interest that members of the public have in 'celebrity children' is directly related to the interest they have in their parents. In the case of the Wales family, one of those children is a future king and all of them will have some sort of role in British life. But even then, I don't think people who aren't interested in the royals are going to much care about them.

Regarding the Sussexes, there might be some initial curiosity about photos of the kids as they've been seen so little. But I think the idea that tens of millions of people will instantly sign up to an Instragram which thus far has only 2 million followers, just to see photos of someone else's children, is fanciful. The Sussex children may be grandchildren of the king and have royal titles, but they are not seen at royal events and the royal family are strangers to them. They are basically the children of C list celebrities now.

Ohpleeeease · 15/02/2025 08:01

Someone up thread (sorry, can’t find it now) made an excellent post about not being interested in any of the Royal children except possibly the heir.

I’m the same. I would class myself as a supporter of the RF but honestly would not care if I never saw any of the children again. I’m mildly interested in how the future king is coming on but beyond that I’d be happy not to hear another thing about them.

A and L, really couldn’t care less, they’re the equivalent of Margaret’s children. We don’t need to see them or hear anything about them to know they exist.

I can’t believe I’m untypical, I’m not that original! Who, apart from the media, is actually interested?

JADS · 15/02/2025 08:04

I hadn't noticed the signet ring at first. I always thought these were the absolute bastion of the British upper class aristo types - the hierarchy which Meghan so despises (linked not ranked). Weird.

Oh she doesn't despise it! She loves it!
All the deference, status, privilege, wealth, titles, crests, children being known as Prince and Princess. What she was not happy with was obviously being part of that particular system, and the boundaries and limitations imposed.

That is their interpretation and I hope it's not accurate, largely because I think Meghan would get further by picking the celebrity lane. It's what she knows and her decisions work better in terms of celebrity than royalty.

Jacquettes · 15/02/2025 08:34

Why did those posters who were so concerned that Meghan’s presence at the Invictus Games is damaging to the games in some way suddenly lose interest in the games when she left?

Thedom · 15/02/2025 08:42

Meghan is merching the kids while Harry is merching his long dead mother in a Canadian interview about Invictus.

It really is a circus.
