The royal family

Is there another couple like the Sussexes Part 2

With this new authentic Insta post where Meghan positions herself as a go between in securing some signed merchandise I think there's still plenty to discuss.
This is a new image. No make up. Carefully edited insta. New lips. Is this influencer territory? Mention of " my husband and l " Echoes of the Queen ?

Surprised at the timing of that Hello cover, doubt it is coincidental.

Three gorgeous looking kids, now that is a cover which will be on every checkout stand in Canada..

www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article/prince-harry-and-meghan-right-wrongs-during-emotional-visit-to-squamish-nation-says-councillor-wilson-williams/

Harrys interference with Canadians First Nations continues!

And apparently the councillor interviewed either has forgotten the more recent visit from Catherine and William and Edward's personal help returning some articles and vist to return them or it's been deliberately missed out!

Harry is a useful idiot for anyone wishing to score political points against the RF. He doesn't care about these people, and he doesn't care about his family, he's happy to needle them. And once again, he's undermined the indigenous woman who is the King's representative in Canada, Governor General, Mary Simon.

This is one of the reasons why I would be perfectly happy for Canada, Australia, Jamaica and any other nation to shed the UK monarch as their head of state. Actually, it would be great if the BRF could do the shedding. It's utterly ridiculous to have a constitutional monarch with a geographically distant, and an increasingly socially and morally distant connection, to these countries; who is held responsible for the actions of decades of successive democratically elected governments on the ground, for their policies, their neglect and the continued shitty attitudes of their citizens towards indigenous peoples.

Actual photos of the actual children. The second she does that, she'll have probably 50 million (or more) followers. Overnight.

I'm not so sure. I think there would be great interest to see the photos in newspapers etc but I'm not convinced that would translate to followers. This has been covered before, H&M are able to make money for other people (the DM etc) but not monetise themselves.

Charlotte looks so much like the Queen in that Hello cover photo !

It definitely would, if that was the only source of them

How is he actually righting the wrongs by a visit and Meghan playing the clapper ? Genuinely curious ..

If she’s going to be on Instagram, she really needs to do it properly - so many people have slick and professional pages that some half-hearted pictures aren’t going to cut it. I feel like she’s missed the boat to really build on there, but time will tell. TikTok is where it’s at and if she’s after younger generations it’s where she should be.

I agree and if there is one thing this photo showed was that the brains behind all the displays in the cooking series were not hers. I have a friend who works on various British TV shows doing the scene setting. They source and they arrange. Either that or she was in such a panic due to not being there that she had to rush something out in case she was forgotten about 😂

But I think that the media would be able to scrape things off her Instagram. They do it to celebrities all the time.

The photos would be lifted and put on the DM within seconds.
It is so easy to see what is happening without even having an Instagram account

BasiliskStare · 14/02/2025 12:20

In that photograph Charlotte looks like she could be another Princess Anne - who I like - and I think was once called The best Queen we never had.

veraswaistcoat · 14/02/2025 12:26

@FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger I very much agree either way you on this point.

"Actually, it would be great if the BRF could do the shedding. I know of the corruption and chaos that have ensued in a couple of the Commonwealth countries following on from the loosening of ties in Independence. I imagine however if the RF tried to initiate separation from them there would be cries of / what about us ? What about our ties and our history ? Critics would complain about that too.

The ONLY way she's going to make her Insta the most popular.. is by putting up photos of the kids facing the camera. yes, not some potential body double facing the wrong way in a weirdly photoshopped image of them running towards M&H.

Actual photos of the actual children. The second she does that, she'll have probably 50 million (or more) followers. Overnight.

HamandCheeseSandwich · 14/02/2025 09:44

roll out the kids - that's all she needs to do ...

I normally try to avoid talking about 'kidfluencers' because I strongly believe it's exploitation of the highest order (I have in the past mutually agreed to part ways with a client who wanted to involve their child on their channel - it's just not something I feel comfortable about).

But with that caveat, I'd say that IF Meghan decided to go that route (and, fair play to her, she shows no signs of wanting to do so and I highly respect that), its success would depend on how telegenic or able to perform her kids are.

There are LOADS of very successful and exploitated kids out there on family channels and the best ones are clearly drilled to within an inch of their lives to give a good performance whilst also seeming natural. So, the Sussexes would have a very high bar.

MrsLeonFarrell · 14/02/2025 12:32

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 14/02/2025 10:20

That tag line is funny. It's not the kids who are redefining things, it's their parents and the choices they are making to put their family first. The same choices that get them called lazy!

Meghan will be spitting feathers over that Hello photo!

Not least because, as I understand it, Hello has succeeded People magazine as Meghan's tame publication on speed-dial.

Which is why they're also running a story about the heartfelt Valentine's gifts exchanged by Salt n Pepper (we go together!) themselves.

It looks like something from a 'Facebook Tat' thread.

Susex themed grazeboard for sell. Perfect gift for Valentimes, only fifty pound. No offers, no timewasters.

Onlyonekenobe · 14/02/2025 13:47

I really, really hope they keep their children private. It would be the best thing they could do for them, more valuable than any riches or patronages they could pass on.

I also don't believe showing their faces would make the slightest difference to Meghan's or Harry's standing. Does anyone actually care about celebrities' children? I can't bring to mind any celebrity's child, what they look like etc, at this age. I don't care about William and Catherine's children, other than that one of them is going to be King and it's of passing interest to see how he's growing up (and I always feel bad looking, can't help but wonder whether he's aware how little freedom/control he has over his life and future and what that must feel like). Like most people, I think, I love my children, love my own nieces and nephews a lot but not like my kids, am fond of my husband's nieces and nephews, am interested in my friends' children and really couldn't care less about other people's children as long as they're being treated ok. I don't see 49,000,000 suddenly becoming interested in Meghan's children on her Instagram page.

There's a few. Blue Ivy Carter is the most obvious example: her parents are very much working on making her a star. Will Smith's kids. Brooklyn Beckham. Kate Moss's daughter. Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter.

I don't agree with it myself: I respect celebs who keep their kids private. I also disagree with A-List parents buying their children careers when said children lack discernible talent (this may or may not include the names I listed above - take your pick).

Not just because I despise nepotism, but also because I strongly believe that children should be free to make their own choices about their future career paths. That can be quite difficult to do when you're being dragged out on the red carpet as a teen, and a career in showbiz presented to you as the only way.

H&M's kids are in the line of succession, so I'd say there is a decent argument that they should have some limited public profile. It's all part of H&M's rather precarious category status: sort of royal, sort of celeb, not fulfilling either role terribly well, because they don't mix.

But as for regular celebs, I like the ones who keep their kids private.

myrtleWilson · 14/02/2025 14:15

Just an aside on the whole nepo baby front - is anyone else weirded out by how Blue Ivy is being styled way beyond her 13years of age? That's not a criticism of her, but more a reflection on how her image is being shaped..

Blue Ivy is 13 (I read that just the other day, so I know this!) and all the others on this list are at least high school/university age. I don't even know how old Archie and Lilibet are: definitely pre-school and elementary school age? 5 and under? They're young and small. They have nothing to contribute to the world because they know nothing, and nothing should be asked of them either because they know nothing. They should be free. They're tiny young children fgs, barely out of diapers!

Honestly, I think they should all be left alone until they're at least in their early 20s, when they might have an idea of the longer term consequences of their actions. All these precocious young adults make me feel so uneasy. Millie Bobby Brown is one, Apple Martin is another. I find it creepy, and think that of allllll the things these young and beautiful and well-resourced young people could be doing, choosing to cultivate and maintain a public profile as a priority says nothing good about them or their families.

Those who have had to have a public profile since childhood always, ALWAYS, say they wish they hadn't had that burden. And honestly these high profile children/adolescents/young adults are a tiny minority of all the children of famous people. Which in itself says a lot.

If Harry’s kids end up as mini influencers selling tat on Meghan’s instagram page it will destroy any last bit of credibility he has left, surely to god he won’t allow that would he?

He just doesn’t seem to care what Meghan does. If she wants to do it he will accept it.
