With this new authentic Insta post where Meghan positions herself as a go between in securing some signed merchandise I think there's still plenty to discuss.
This is a new image. No make up. Carefully edited insta. New lips. Is this influencer territory? Mention of " my husband and l " Echoes of the Queen ?

it was a motivational piece about a diverse community coming together called All Are Neighbours

Guffaw. Those poor children!

DuchessOfPort · 10/02/2025 19:22

Whyyyyy won’t they stop the endless pious education of others? How do they not point out to each other DAILY that they are rancid with hypocrisy!

CathyorClaire · 10/02/2025 19:35

Re. picture posted at 12.47.

I have seen the video this was taken from and it looks to me as though Rachel's glaring at someone out of shot.

Not saying it's not a mask slip especially when she starts simpering for the camera but are we convinced it's Harold she's attempting to turn to stone?

Oh, this absolutely.

I got my arse handed to me on a plate way back when for saying 'Pearl' sounded dreary as then they grabbed the ready made but snoringly dull 'Live To Lead' off someone's dusty shelf and that's before we get on to stepping barefoot off a private jet to finger wag the masses at some climatey thing.

Seems a case of none so blind as those who won't see.

Apparently not, Mylovelygreendress; it was a motivational piece about a diverse community coming together called All Are Neighbours

And yes, @jeffgoldblum, you're not alone on giving up being surprised Confused

Good grief . I need a large glass of wine.

What is the purpose in Meghan going to read books to the children? Are they the children of competitors? If they are Australian I am sure they have access to books in their own country? I assume it's just to showcase Meghan and show how caring she is.

Come to Canada and read a book. I recall many years ago someone asking me if I had ever had ice cream when I went to Canada.

They just love acting like royals don't they?

Which is weird because it doesn't pay them anything and they need money and they wanted to leave the terrible hierarchical institution.

IVG gives them one of their last opportunities to act royal.
They tried to do it with the California fires but there isn't a role for royals in California so it looks incongruous.

They've tried to do it with their own pretend royal tours but again it feels like: what is the point of this??
IVG is the only thing where they can legitimately do the waving/ huggin/ photos with kids thing.

Question is why do they want to? They'd get so much less criticism if they just let the fake royal act go.

StrawberryWasp · 10/02/2025 21:03

I feel very slightly sorry for M in that I too would feel very awkward being watched at something like the IVG. And would probably come across as performing (because I'd have to) and get it wrong and look like a bit of a twat, clapping at the wrong time not knowing what to say, looking bored or overly enthusiastic etc.

But that's why I wouldn't want to marry into the royal family. I'd be shit at it. And if I were to fall in love with a prince I'd take the option of a quiet life carrying on with my job that M was offered.

But I think the difference is M doesn't know she's bad at it. She can't distinguish between performance and authentic.
To continue this level of self sabotage in continuing to repeat the same mistakes has revealed she just doesn't understand.

StrawberryWasp · 10/02/2025 21:09

OR I'd at least take all the training and tips I could from those moree experienced and skilled that I was offered and I'd go for the most low key approach of smile and nod that I could get away with.

M went for: no training or tips and attract as much attention as I can. Then can't understand why she gets it wrong.

BasiliskStare · 10/02/2025 21:32

@DolliDimples
I've just read that and down the article it says "It is understood the show is being edited 'to include Meghan's philanthropic work around the fires' which included visiting victims in Altadena, California.
This week she bragged about how she scored Billie Eilish merchandise for one 15-year-old girl who lost her family home."

Is this really an edit which will help ? I thought in the US ( which am guessing is her main and target market ) she and Harry came in for criticism about disaster tourism.

But there's no reason for her to be at the IG. If she wanted, she could have stayed at home with her small children and maybe attended the opening or closing ceremony. She went in order to be seen. So personally I don't feel sorry for her at all.

Surely if they edit her disaster tourism into a programme about entertaining and sticking fucking mint on a doughnut, she will be slaughtered? I mean, it'll be a patently cynical move to make her look compassionate whilst in reality she has been fiddling whilst California burns. And she's still doing it to line her own pockets, effectively doing it to "improve" her show and her chances of a renewed deal with Netflix, so she is using the fire victims for monetary gain.

Oh wow. Talk about really doubling down on the disaster tourism. As if it wasn't enough to do the photoshoot the first time in Pasadena, she's gone out again with a full film crew to edit it into her show? Unbelievable

BasiliskStare · 10/02/2025 22:32

@FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger - I could not agree more with you Jammy . So I reckon one of 1. it's not true or 2. Netflix genuinely believe they have got their finger on the public's pulse and the edits will be well received or 3. they fear the show is going to be so badly received anyway they are just desperately chucking anything at it to see if it sticks.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 10/02/2025 22:41

But the other angle is that she only went to the fire hit towns in order to generate footage to improve the show, the trailer for which was absolutely panned before the so-called compassionate visits. There's absolutely no angle for those visits to be included in the programme without it looking utterly cynical, contrived and ghoulish. I hope, @BasiliskStare, that option no. 1 is the case!

BigWillyLittleTodger · 10/02/2025 22:45

I heard a rumour that Harry is paid £500,000 to attend Invictus, and Meghan gets a £30,000 clothing allowance, no idea if this is true.

Looks like movement on ARO - jam, olive oil and honey to be sold on a stand in two of Netflick stores (Philidelphia and Dallas) in a few weeks time.

Oh that sounds a good idea - like the As seen on TV products they sell in places like Wilko. I believe they're selling other things like mugs from Stranger Things too.

I actually don't think Netflix much care. They know Meghan will be the one getting the heat for this, and if it's her idea, I reckon their view is just give her more rope - don't refuse to do it and then let her blame them for the show being totally panned.

I think Netflix just wants viewers. Even if people hate watch it, its viewership.

I think Netflix will be very happy to be done their contract with H and M.

Are we to assume these will not made by Meghan, but are generic, mass produced shite with her logo slapped on it?

Who else gets someone to take a photo of themselves then posts this ?

For such a beautiful woman with a lovely slim figure it truly baffles me how she struggles to find clothes that flatter her.

All I see in that photo is the shapeless lump of a brown coat.

What a difference from when she was a working royal, but then Charles was funding bespoke couture from Givenchy, Dior, Stella McCartney etc. in lovely bright colours, too. I wonder what happened to that wardrobe?

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 11/02/2025 07:49

I'm going with 5. The more outrageous the episodes the more likely people will watch/keep their subscription.

As for ARO I do struggle to see the demand, especially as groceries are going up in the US- have you heard about eggs being stolen (100,000 in one raid) as the price in some areas is sky high due to bird flu?
