Kensington Palace have released a photo of the Princess of Wales photographed by her youngest son, Prince Louis. It is to mark World Cancer Day, which is tomorrow.

How cute!

No, but they currently have someone who regularly insulges in blatant antisemitism.

And there is a lot of shady stuff about the Macrons as well, honestly give me a constitutional monarchy any day of the week.

I'm sure the security services watch the royals carefully and anyone involved in activities which threaten the UK would be picked up quickly and action taken.

That didn't work with Andrew and the Chinese spy did it? He carried on regardless for a long time. From about 2019 if I recall.

This post genuinely made me laugh. That’s the thing about spies - they are not meant to be detectable. The man in question was also invited to Downing Street and met senior politicians. Once security services had doubts about him they then spoke to his contacts who so far as we know, ceased associating with him, in about 2021 I think.

Hindsight of course always gives you perfect vision….

TulipTiptoer · 05/02/2025 18:35

Yes, as far as we know, being the phrase that should be noted. Andrew ceasing contact with Epstein as he told the whole world wasn't quite the truth either was it?

Glad I've given you a laugh though!

vandel · 05/02/2025 18:52

I often wonder what would happen if George said FK this, I ain't doing that Dad, forget it. Let Charlotte do it, I'm off to have a life somewhere. Bye, but don't forget to send on the Trust Fund money every month. See ya.

Charlotte does the same. No way Hosay, I can't wear heels anyway, and I want a tattoo on my neck just like everyone else.

Louis takes up the Crown and opens a photo shop in the Palace. Spends his days taking pictures of everyone coming and going, and especially those on the weekly audience circuit. He loves his job.

Kids be kids. Today's kids know everything that's out there, and who in their right mind would sign up for this mullarkey. But £s may be factor I suppose if they are cut off.

It will be interesting to see how the adolescent phase works out for them all. Times have changed even from the time William was a teenager, albeit he had to deal with his mother's tragic and sudden death. He was not of the TikTok etc. generation.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 05/02/2025 18:52

I’ve just posted on here for any republicans that want to go on there.

Uricon2 · 05/02/2025 19:02

I apologise because I've fallen into the trap and should know better, it's the same old recycled arguments from those who don't really have a clue about who they would really want as HoS or any idea how it would work.

Edward VIII currently figuring large without any recognition that we actually had the dutiful George VI as our wartime King, a man who absolutely didn't want the job at all but made a good go of it by any standard. My grandmother (born in the reign of Victoria, ungiven to sentimentality and with trenchant views on many of the RF of her whole, long era) had immense time for him and said she cried her eyes out on his death.

Growsomeballswoman · 05/02/2025 19:05

Reminds me of The Blair Witch project.

Except Andrew continued contact with both the Chinese spy and Epstein far longer than he admitted to. He basically lied about his contact with both of them.

Can we get back on track please?

What is the actual point in crying over spilt water? I'm sick of Andrew and sick listening to rabbiting on about him.

I thought Catherine was very sweet with the children on her school visit.

Uricon2 · 05/02/2025 19:49

I think it's a nice and unusual photo of her. Kate looks happy and I agree with those saying that she may be in a (well deserved) state of relief at the moment. Hope so.

At least there don't seem to have been "photoshopped" compalints this time!

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 05/02/2025 19:53

I think it's quite a natural shot seeing as she was posing for her 6 year old son.

The ‘photoshopped complaints’ were because KP sent a photoshopped image to the news media to be published and did not note that it had been photoshopped. This was not acceptable. Photos are documents and should be reliably truthful if they are published as news. It was explained much better by AP and Reuters.

However, posting all the photoshopped images you like to your own website and social media is acceptable.

Hardly the crime of the century...

I think we could easily have had that National treasure, working class lad done good who worked tirelessly and selflessly for the sick and underprivileged and raised vast sums of money for good causes, who mixed with ordinary people and the great and good alike, President Saville.

Savile (thankfully) wasn't allowed anywhere near Childen In Need and there were many, many with reservations about him albeit they don't include our current monarch.

He finally got the lusted after K but wouldn't have got within sniffing distance of a presidency IMO.

Which bits were photoshopped, that made the photo materially different to the original photo?

No, not the crime of the century - I didn’t say it was.

CathyorClaire · 05/02/2025 20:56

I think things will change a lot under William

I have no idea why Willy is held up as the great monarchical hope.

All the evidence so far shows that he's at least as entitled yet lazier and less committed than Papa.

We'll see.

Funny how all the republicans are so convinced Saville or someone of his ilk wouldn’t get near the Presidency, sorry it doesn’t fit your republican utopia. We all know the Saville story, how close he was to Thatcher, prominent Judges and had the Force in his back pocket to name but a few. To pretend he wouldn’t get near the Presidency is laughable, in the eighties he would have been a shoe in, but if you republicans want to console yourselves with the notion it would be someone nice, warm and cuddly like David Attenborough, Dawn French or Joanna Lumley, go ahead if it makes you feel better but we all know what type of person wants to be a President and it certainly isn’t them.

bitteroldseetrouts · 05/02/2025 21:12

Spot on @BigWillyLittleTodger . Saville had the head of the government, the NHS, the prison service and the police in his pocket, never mind an adoring public through Jim'll Fix it. And whoever the "many, many with reservations" were, they were too cowardly to do anything to speak up and stop him raping and abusing children on a massive scale, so what makes anyone think they'd stop him running for high office is a mystery.

I thought so too. It's a bit odd tbh.

bitteroldseetrouts · 05/02/2025 20:45

Which bits were photoshopped, that made the photo materially different to the original photo?

I’m not going down that route. You can Google it if you really want to know. AP/Reuters have said they wouldn’t accept a photo of an American president if a ketchup stain on his tie was photoshopped out and similar. That is their standard. There aren’t degrees of truth here. A photoshopped image has to be acknowledged as being photoshopped. KP had been a ‘trusted source’ until then. I took that to mean they didn’t look for photoshopping when receiving images from KP and would publish it as is, because they trusted KP to present a completely truthful image. Which that that image was not. That’s not acceptable to news services and it shouldn’t be acceptable to us.

Unfortunately KP fucked up when Catherine was ill. Most people feel sympathy given the circumstances. I do.

CathyorClaire · 05/02/2025 21:23

To pretend he wouldn’t get near the Presidency is laughable, in the eighties he would have been a shoe in,

He was denied a knighthood in the 80's in the light of his own unsavoury revelations in (Sun) interviews. Thatcher(inexpicably) pushed but was thwarted.

He finally got the gong years after mooted in 1990.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 05/02/2025 21:32

The Knighhood thing is irrelevant, David Beckham’s attempts have so far been thwarted, wouldn’t stop him running for President if he so wished so long as he had the money and the right backers, to say Beckham, Saville or anyone would be ‘stopped’ running for President defeats your republican argument, surely that is the very thing you are all clamouring for is it not?

CathyorClaire · 05/02/2025 21:33

Saville had the head of the government, the NHS, the prison service and the police in his pocket

Likewise the then next in line to the throne despite the endless on-tap advisors whose sole job was to protect his reputation yet who apparently hadn't heard the 'open rumours' about his activities or paid heed to an honours committee rejecting a candidate condemned by his own publicly recorded unsavory admissions.
