Is there another couple in the world like The Sussexes?

I was musing last night about this aspect - they had the world at their feet. Despite what Sussex Supporters like to suggest most people in the UK nodded their heads " yes it was lovely Harry was getting married finally" . I had never heard of the bride myself as I don't watch American tv shows of that ilk. She was black or biracial? It didn't even enter my head what colour she was initially and then as coverage started it didn't make one iota of difference one way or the other. I recall the day of the wedding - it was sunny and the pubs were full of royal cheer broadcasting the wedding.

And then it all started to where we are today.

Are there any other couples in the world who have gone through such a downfall? Is this a feature of the social media arena today?
We see P Diddy and Blake Lively and others exposed now through SM.
You can't count the Duke and Duchess of Windsor in this category as they were always unpopular.

Can you think of any examples of people who have fallen so spectacularly?

I know people say " they live in California, they have money blah blah" but their reputation is one that most people would not want.

Is it purely because of their seeming complaining and sense of entitlement ? I mean you don't see the real philanthropists in this way - in fact you rarely hear about them and what they do.

Honestly, can you not see the blatant contradiction and irony in posters who start and contribute to many threads about H& M full of negativity and criticism; resisting the fact that H&M may consequently have security concerns for their dc?

AFAIK - though happy to be corrected - I don't think the couple themselves have commented on this beyond the original "salt and pepper" silliness, and "well placed sources" don't count for me unless they're named

Maybe let's just wait and see how they handle Invictus this time, and hope (however unrealistic that may be) that just for once they'll focus on the vets instead of themselves?

@Puzzledandpissedoff , I'm not on twitter either but saw a post on another platform that had screenshot all the posts , most of them are really quite something!
And before anyone asks, no they were not predominantly from U.K. people!

To give a quick overview, most were not impressed with the charity using him as a patron when he's based in the US , a lot were saying that he was unsuitable because of his drug taking and behaviour.

Some were saying they found the charity worthwhile but wouldn't donate to anything using him as a figure head .

I wasn't negative about the charity itself, I will add I have sanitised and given a polite overview!

Just shows how people refuse to seperate rumours from facts. Tomorrow there will be some other rumour that will spawn a ton of comments about how awful they are doing it when they haven't even done anything yet! And if your going to steadfastly say you only criticise on their actions yet do it on rumours well you can't blame people for saying your just in it to bitch about people you don't like. Mainly posts about how can they continue to have him as a patron for a UK charity when he doesn't live in the UK, doesn't like the UK, (I guess a valid criticism) he only comes to the UK for court cases etc. Find someone living in the UK to be their patron. Lots of comments about him being a bully to his family and his drug taking, hence not a good example for a kids charity.

As you suggest there's nothing wrong in what Harry said, so the objection seems to be that it's him saying it and that some don't want his toxicity around "their" cause ... which is fair enough I suppose, and something we may well see more of as the couple's reputations continue to slide

But has also been mentioned that it's pre recorded and it appears he did a job lot of videos at the same time , green screen was also mentioned!

i don’t think it’s right that the Wales children are in the public eye at all, It must be pretty awful for them actually and beyond worrying and stressful for their parents. Imagine reading unpleasant criticisms of your children in the press. You would feel so angry and helpless in defending them.

One can only imagine the press stories and level of intrusion when they are teens and how fame distorts friendships and professional and personal relationships in general.

But given that they are subject to this, then perhaps better to have some training in it.

I don’t personally enjoy seeing them in public though or looking at pictures of them. As children, they have had no say or ability to consent to having their images splashed all over the world press and the internet generally.

They pay a high price for their privilege.
