Elaine Liu is best buddies with Omid Scobie, says it all about her, and a friend of Meghans since her Toronto days. I was surprised to see her quoted in the VF report, maybe to give it some balance from a positive perspective..

However Elaine Liu is another nasty bully, She is the one who started the Where's Wally, when Catherine was ill. Then backtracked somewhat when it came out Catherine was battling cancer, but blamed it all on a PR disaster by KP, never acknowledging her Where's Wally bullying. She is also the one who reported on how Catherine didnt offer Meghan a lift to the shops.

Recently there have been some reports from Laineygossip which are a bit more critical, but never from Elaine herself, always her other writers.

She is the ultimate bully, can see why she aligns herself with Meghan Markel.

It feels like tinsel town didn’t like the fact they for these big deals without the hard work to earn them.
At the beginning of the podcast, it explains how you get a big deal podcast….build it up, get the numbers up, put the years in etc. But they just got it because of their name. I think this rankles those who bust a gut in Hollywood. It’s a hard, unforgiving industry.
Not only were they awarded with a contract they didn’t deserve, they didn’t show appreciation or any talent - Harry was lazy and Meghan treated her staff badly. Both didn’t know what the fuck they were doing.

I think that’s the underlying problem. It was the HR and VF, not the NYT. This is a Hollywood thing, they’ve pissed off the wrong people.

I can’t get over the fact that her team, went to a publishing company to discuss an idea about a book of Meghans life, post Harry divorce.

Does that mean she was talking about it?,they observed something going on? When the rumours were rife that they just wanted to see what the market was for such a book?, is this standard practice for celeb book? Has Meghan been planning her exit all along?

The divorce rumours have been around for a while now, they’ve also separated their work.
I think Harry will lose his mind over this. The not knowing if it’s true or not.

Right?! Who thought this was a good idea?

👋

But ultimately, people don't like bullies. Employees don't like to be harassed, humiliated and disenfranchised just for their pay check.

It is a small industry and they appear to have walked all over the hard grafters and cosied up to those who make the deals, they have had failure after failure, along with bullying the people who are trying to make it work for them and creating a toxic work environment for those people, it eventually gets exposed. This is where they are now.

IAmATorturedPoet · 17/01/2025 23:28

Well I have just finished the podcast.
What a burn🔥.

It has just confirmed for me:

MM is completely fake, her caring sharing is a facade. The reality is she’s a nasty bully who has created a toxic work environment where the staff end up needing therapy (WTAF!)

PH is lazy, entitled, easily manipulated, has likely had too much therapy and now doesn’t really know his arse from his elbow and is relegated to just tagging along behind his wife.

On the NDA front, can that be enforced in US/California state if it relates to workplace bullying?

Not2identifying · 17/01/2025 23:30

I had never thought about the possibility Hollywood would resent their big deals but now it's been said it seems plausible.

Hollywood has plenty of form for nepotism too though.

Very true, but suppose at the very least, their parents had talent.

They only for the work because he was a Royal. Royalty means nothing in the US.

This has parallels to 'Me Too' .... abuse of power, NDAs, rumours, a whistle blower (although still anonymous) and then an avalanche. We know there wre issues in pre PH in Canada (Director from the Reitmans shoot said she was the worst person he had ever worked with) ...she was careful not to shit on her own doorstep in Suits as she was way down the pecking order and was noot going to bite the hand that feeds her - then Buckingham Palace (as per Courtiers and BP investigation) then Archewell (as per HR) ... now also from employees at Spotify.

Also the numbers HR said 12 employees had spoken to them - VF saying 'dozens'.

EverybodyLovesString · 17/01/2025 23:43

This will be very, very damaging for them. Vanity Fair is hugely influential in American media and entertainment circles, even more so than the Hollywood Reporter. It has a reputation for serious investigative reporting.

This confirms The Times original reporting about the way Harry and Meghan treat staff. There's no getting away from it now.

This part made me laugh out loud, on Harry's idea for a podcast where he interviews famous sociopaths to find out why he didn't become one: "To implore a season’s worth of world-famous sociopaths to talk about how they developed sociopathy would be what is referred to in access journalism as “a booking challenge.”"

Reetpetitenot · 17/01/2025 23:53

The Squad have gone into overdrive. They really are a bit dense.

This is also why Oprah remains MM's 'friend' - she was continued to keep her investment warm so that she would be the first port of call for the exclusive interview down the line.

All they are doing is highlighting it for everyone to see, bringing in more eyeballs.

I think it does. A lot of Americans have respect and a romantic notion of the British royals. All the a listers would choose William and one of his events over these two grifters, and many have. They made the mistake of thinking that people would be interested in them outside of the royal connection because they are just that special, and they just aren't. They walked away from the one thing that would have given them access to the status that they think they deserve. Idiots

EverybodyLovesString · 18/01/2025 00:38

I think the podcast sounds sarcastic because it's read by AI. It has an uncanny quality to it.

I especially like the podcast ideas they came up with for Harry: "An idea was pitched to Harry—what if he reviewed a hot chocolate every week while chatting with a different friend?—which he and his team considered and rejected. Another concept was that Harry would “fix” something every week, ranging from a flat tire to global warming."

Cocoa reviews and Harry'll Fix It! Terrible.

fucking hell. right up there with "youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank", or "monkey tennis" (one for the teenagers there). it was bleeding obvious from the get go the they had no talent whatsoever (apart from pissing people off, which they seem pretty good at) so what future do they have, apart from as a third rate Duke of Windsor/Wallace Simpson tribute act?

Noticed lots of people saying the article is really disjointed…..I’m wondering if they’ve been made to cut chunks out of it because of legal issues

Also, the hubris of Harry saying "I have very bad childhood trauma. Obviously. My mother was essentially murdered. What is it about me that didn’t make me one of these bad guys?”

Is pretty astounding. I mean ok, he's not murdered anyone but I don't think he's in a position to claim a moral high ground here.

To be fair whatever you think of Harry you could probably agree he has the moral high ground over Putin and Assad (his planned interview subjects)

Still a hilarious quote though

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, believes you are a sociopath. His Royal Highness, of course, is not a sociopath unlike you. Would you be interested in an interview with him for his podcast, possibly over cocoa?

Yours sincerely etc"

Mystifying that he hasn't made friends

Wonder why now? Trump coming in maybe?

Adamante · 18/01/2025 05:30

Agog at this article 😁

It’s over. They’re a complete laughing stock. One has to wonder if The Grey Men have been calling in favours and it was always going to go this way, revenge is a dish best served cold etc.

Wonder why now? Trump coming in maybe?

What could this possibly have to do with Trump? They've pissed off one too many people with their behaviour clearly. I'd imagine it must be even worse than what these articles portray if they have even the likes of vanity fair and the Hollywood reporter going after them. Imagine the type of bad behaviour they've heard about from entitled Hollywood stars but they dont get scathing articles? I'm starting to think the rumours about meghan throwing a cup of tea over a royal staffer on one of their tours might be true. Its bad and it will all come out eventually. They're cooked.

Where are their defenders on this thread? Waiting for their talking points?
