Netflix has delayed start of Meghans show

Just seen on Sky News. Breaking News headlines. Delayed because of the wild fires didn't say if this was technical difficulties or it would be a bit crass to launch a frothy type lifestyle show with all the devastation. Anyway it might be shelved for good with any luck.

I think I’d want to do a Megxit only without all the brouhaha afterwards. Abscond with a then-beloved multimillionaire royal, but instead of all the mucky Netflix business, quietly retire to a big house with too many rooms so you have to assign them purposes like flower arranging or gift wrapping. Pop back for the occasional royal wedding, be seen juuuuuuust enough you get sent advance copies of good books and fancy candles, but not so fame-hounded you can’t eat crisps in public. The royal women have probably never done a mini tube of Pringles on a hangover like it’s a tequila shot, and is that truly living?

That sounds perfect.

It was vapid and silly at the time, horrendously embarrassing, infantile drivel. She was so useless it was unreal. When you directly compare her to Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt, Margaret Thatcher and the like, it is truly painful to see the depths of her inadequacy.

No shortage of brass neck there, she knew she was out of her depth but she still felt worthy of putting herself forward. Too many people today have the opposite of imposter syndrome.

I think there was a very short window of time when Kamala Harris was ahead in the polls after Biden stepped down. But it quickly became obvious she wasn't up to the job and had no policies.

I seem to recall her husband saying something about how he travels around London by Tube. I believe him.

I've definitely seen a stealth picture of Edward on the Tube.

Seriously though, celebs travel around London all the time on the Tube. My two favourite spots have been Claudia Winkleman with her daughter and Margaret Mumford, around the time she was working on her PhD.

Yes, it's the quickest way to get around London. Being rich and famous doesn't prevent you getting stuck in traffic. Unless of course you have a police escort, which Harry thinks he deserves.

Igavebirthtoabanana · 20/01/2025 18:22

My favourite tube spotting is Graham Norton.

pelargoniums · 20/01/2025 18:47

My fave Tube spot was Peter Capaldi!

JADS · 20/01/2025 19:44

Both of those are much better than Margaret Mumford! I loved her and Nick on The Apprentice though.

I meant for the SS but H&M too, seeing as you mention them. yes them too.

And here's a definition of the word, "apologist" for you.

apologist
/əˈpɒlədʒɪst/

noun

a person who offers an argument in defence of something controversial.

You're welcome.

Strictly speaking yes you are right.

But I believe you know what I meant.

I did actually think I saw the late Queen in Waitrose in Windsor once! (Waitrose is practically visible from Windsor castle so it was conceivable!)

She was looking at the greetings cards so I could only see her from behind. But she had a tweedy twin-set on, a headscarf tied in the manner the Queen often wore, and grey hair that looked to be the right style poking out underneath. She was also muttering to herself in a very posh undertone. I was sooo disappointed when she turned round and I saw it wasn't the Queen after all!

I knew an ex close protection officer who I told this story to, and he said that she did occasionally nip into Windsor without telling anyone, and it was a complete nightmare when they realised she'd gone. Not entirely sure he was being truthful though ... :).

You are Zara Phillips and I claim my £5

I wouldn’t put it past any of the late Queen’s granddaughters.

I thought I saw Harry on the Tube once. Young man with red hair, baseball cap pulled well down so his face wasn't clearly visible.

Wasn't there some wild night were Diana and Fergie went out disguised as policewomen and prodded men with their truncheons, or have I imagined that?

I think that was fergy's hen night!

Bad news. NF are performing really well. So flush with cash….maybe they won’t care how badly M&Hs time at NF has gone. Maybe they will want to keep them on….try and get a reality show out of them.
We all know that’s the level they will end up at.

Shouldn’t he be on the phone with his lawyers?

I see Harry is a hypocrite again, and has settled his court case. Just think of all those cases that could have been heard during all the court time he tied up for this case.

Didn't he criticise William for settling?

EdithWeston · 22/01/2025 12:28

Hughs · 22/01/2025 11:57

Didn't he criticise William for settling?

Indirectly.

He was saying that it was some sort of secretive deal, that was somehow favourable to BP (comment made at the same time as his unevidenced allegations that the Palaces used negative briefings to shore up their overall position0

William settled hacking case with UK paper group, Harry says | Reuters

OTOH, the verifiable facts show that there was an ordinary out-of-court settlement, the details of which were confidential. Just like this one really.

I suspect Harry's posturing round this will be aimed (as everything from them is) for a US audience, who will not know that there is nothing in the apology beyond normal UK wording about distress plus reference to events already admitted in Levenson are various criminal cases (all concluded years ago).

Hughs · 22/01/2025 12:40

I think there was an implication, or maybe he said it later, that he was the only one brave enough not to settle and to keep fighting against the evil Briddish press iirc
